The absence of a LED indicator when starting the charge is normal with a completely empty battery, as the charging case battery does not have enough energy to power the LED indicator immediately. Here’s why and how to check that the charging is actually working:

When you plug the USB-C cable into the charging case with a completely drained battery (case and earbuds), no LED appears in the first few minutes. This is completely normal: the case first charges silently until it has enough energy to turn on the LED indicator. Once the case battery reaches a minimum energy level, the indicator activates and starts flashing green.

Wait 5 to 10 minutes after plugging in for the LED to light up. If you want to check immediately that the charging is working, open the Bowers & Wilkins Music app (available for free on iOS and Android): it displays the exact battery level of the case and earbuds, regardless of the LED indicator. You will see a gradual increase in the charge percentage as soon as the device is connected.

To check that the charging has started:

Make sure the USB-C cable is properly connected to the USB-C port of the case
Check that the power source (wall socket or USB port) is working (test with another device if possible)
Let it charge for at least 5 to 10 minutes before expecting a visual indicator
Open the Music app to track the progress in real-time

Once the case has accumulated enough energy, the LED indicator will show: flashing green if the case battery is above 40%, flashing yellow between 20 and 40%, or flashing red if it is below 20%. A completely empty case takes up to 3 hours to fully recharge.

If after 15 minutes of charging no LED appears and the app shows no progress, try another USB-C cable or another socket. If the problem persists, also ensure that the case is not unnecessarily closed during charging: you can charge it with or without the earbuds inside.
