WORKING
General
You can use this toaster for a wide variety of bread types.

- Bread slot
- Removable crumb drawer
- Cord with plug
- Button for variable degree browning
- Defrosting button
- Warming button
- Stop button
- Handle for bread basket
◆ OPERATION
First use
- Remove the packaging material from the toaster. Check that the bread slots no longer contain any packaging material.
- Insert the crumb drawer and make sure that the slot in the handle points downwards.
- Make sure that the handle of the bread basket is positioned upwards.

TOMADO
English
- Put the plug into the wall socket.
- Push the handle of the bread basket downwards so that the heating elements can pre-heat and burn away any dust that might have entered the appliance during its manufacture. Do not put bread in the toaster. When it is pre-heating, smoke may come out of the toaster; this is normal.
Use
- Insert the crumb drawer and make sure that the handle of the bread basket is positioned upwards.
- Put the plug into the wall socket.
- Set the button for the browning degree in the required position.
-
Place the slices of bread in the bread slots.
-
Push the handle for the bread basket down until it clicks into position (fig. 1).
The toaster will switch on automatically. When the bread is the required colour, the toaster will automatically switch off and the bread basket will be released so that you can take the bread out.

If you want to end the toasting before the process is completed, just press the stop button.
- Remove the slices of bread from the bread slots. When you do this, please take care. The bread might be very hot.
- Remove the plug from the socket after use. Clean the toaster as described in the 'Cleaning and maintenance' section and put the appliance away.
COMMENTS
- Toasting thick slices of bread will take longer because more moisture has to vaporise before the bread is actually toasted. It might be necessary to toast very thick slices of bread twice.
- Press the defrost button before defrosting deep-frozen bread This will toast the bread slowly so that it will also be heated up inside.
- Use the warming up button if you want to warm up bread already toasted.
- If you toast bread with raisins (or other fruit), you have to remove all loose raisins from the bread before you place it in the bread slot. This will prevent loose raisins from falling into the toaster or sticking onto the wires of the bread slot.
- If you want to toast bread that is wider than the bread slot, cut it into two or more parts.
• If you only want to toast one slice of bread, then set the
English
TOMADO
browning degree lighter than normal. The toaster is designed so that both bread slots are heated. By shortening the heating time for one slice of bread, you will prevent the bread from burning.
- Be careful when heating pies. Before the pie is brown, the filling may already have become very hot.

- Never dip the appliance or the cord in water or any other liquid. This could cause electric shock.
