Frequently Asked Questions - CVR200 PHILIPS

How do I mount the Philips CVR200 dash cam?
Clean the windshield area and attach the suction cup or adhesive mount. Ensure the camera is positioned behind the rearview mirror without obstructing the driver's view. Tighten the suction cup lever for a secure fit.
What type of memory card is recommended?
Use a microSD card from 8 GB to 32 GB, Class 6 or higher for reliable recording. Format the card in the dash cam before first use.
How do I enable loop recording?
Loop recording is enabled by default. When the memory card is full, the camera automatically overwrites the oldest footage to continue recording. You can adjust the clip length (1/3/5 minutes) in settings.
What is G-Sensor and how does it work?
The G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When triggered, it automatically locks the current video file, preventing it from being overwritten. Sensitivity can be adjusted in the menu.
How do I use parking mode?
Parking mode uses motion detection to start recording when movement is detected in front of the camera while the vehicle is parked. Enable it in settings; note that the dash cam will require continuous power from the vehicle's battery (or a hardwire kit).
The camera does not turn on. What should I check?
Ensure the 12V power adapter is securely plugged into the car's cigarette lighter and the micro USB cable is firmly connected to the dash cam. Try a different USB cable or power adapter. If using battery, charge it first (battery life is limited).
How do I transfer videos to my computer?
Connect the dash cam to your computer using the micro USB cable, or remove the microSD card and insert it into a card reader. The device appears as a removable drive; copy video files directly. Videos are in MP4 format.
What does the red flashing LED indicate?
A red flashing LED typically indicates the camera is recording. A solid red LED may indicate charging or standby. Refer to the manual for specific LED patterns.
Can I update the firmware?
Yes. Visit the Philips support website for your model, download the latest firmware, copy it to a formatted microSD card, insert into the dash cam with the device off, then power on. Follow on-screen instructions. Do not turn off during update.
How do I clean the lens and device?
Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the lens and body. Do not use water, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners. Avoid touching the lens with fingers.
