How to turn on the camera?

Press the Power switch on top of the camera. The screen turns on and displays the shooting interface.

How to insert the battery and memory card?

Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the camera. Insert the lithium-ion battery (SLB-07A) with the Samsung logo facing up. For the microSD card, insert it with the contacts facing up, then push until it clicks into place.

How to take a photo in Auto mode?

Make sure the camera is in Auto mode. Frame the subject, press the shutter button halfway to focus (a green frame confirms), then press fully to take the photo.

How to use the front screen for a selfie?

In shooting mode, press the front screen to turn it on. The camera automatically detects faces and can even trigger by detecting a smile. Then press the shutter button as usual.

How to record a video?

Select the video mode (camcorder icon) from the menu. Frame the subject and press the shutter button to start recording. Press again to stop.

How to transfer photos to a computer?

Connect the camera to the computer via the USB cable. Turn on the camera. On Windows, select 'Run Intelli-studio' in the AutoPlay window. Follow the instructions to copy files. Make sure 'PC Software' is enabled in the settings.

What to do if the touchscreen does not respond?

Make sure your fingers are clean and dry. Do not use sharp objects. If the problem persists, turn the camera off and on again. If the problem continues, contact Samsung customer service.

What is the maximum memory card capacity?

The camera accepts microSD cards up to 4 GB guaranteed. Higher capacity cards may not be compatible.

How to set the date and time?

When first turning on the camera, the setup screen appears. Select Date & Time and set the date, time, and time zone. You can modify these settings later in the Settings menu.

Caution

Capturing photos or videos

Taking a photo

1 Make sure that the camera is in the mode (Auto mode).
2 Align your subject in the frame.
3 Press [Shutter] halfway down to focus automatically.

• A green frame means the subject in focus.

4 Press [Shutter] all the way down to take the photo.

Taking a photo using the front display

Take photos of yourself conveniently using the front display.

1 In Shooting mode, tap the front display to turn it on.

• Your camera will detect your face automatically.
• The camera automatically releases the shutter when it detects a smiling face.

2 Press [Shutter] halfway down to focus.
3 Press [Shutter] all the way down to take the photo.

Recording a video

1 Select 92.
2 Align your subject in the frame.
3 Press [Shutter].

• To pause, select!.
• To resume, select .

4 Press [Shutter] again to stop recording.

Playing files

Viewing photos

1 Press [O].
2 Draw a horizontal bar left or right, or select or to scroll through photos.

• You can also view files by tilting your camera.

Viewing videos

1 Press [ ] and select 0.
2 Use the following icons to control playback.

Transferring files to a PC (Windows)

1 Connect the camera to your computer with the USB cable.

Note

Make sure that the PC Software option is set to On in the settings menu.

2 Turn on the camera.

• The computer recognises the camera automatically.
• For Windows Vista, select Run iStudio.exe from the AutoPlay window.

3 Select a folder on your computer to save new files.

• If your camera has no new files, the pop-up window for saving new files will not appear.

4 Select Yes.

• New files will be transferred to your computer. You can now use the Intelli-studio program.

Intelli-studio is a built-in program that allows you to play back and edit files. You can also upload files to websites, such as Flickr or YouTube.
