Frequently Asked Questions - IIES85MCTT IBERNA

What type of cookware can I use on this induction hob?
Only cookware with a magnetic base, such as cast iron or induction-compatible stainless steel. Look for the induction symbol or perform a magnet test. Avoid pure stainless steel, aluminum, copper, glass, ceramic, and earthenware.
How do I use the Boost function?
To activate Boost, touch the zone slider and then press and hold the Boost (B) button for 3 seconds. The display will show 'P'. Boost lasts 5 minutes before returning to power level 9. To cancel early, touch the B button twice or slide to the left.
What does the 'H' on the display mean?
The 'H' indicates that the cooking zone is hot and should not be touched. It remains until the surface cools down to a safe temperature.
How do I lock the controls to prevent accidental operation?
Touch the keylock control. The timer indicator will show 'Lo'. To unlock, touch and hold the keylock control for a few seconds until 'Lo' disappears.
What should I do if the hob turns off and shows an error code?
Note the error code (e.g., E3, E5, F3). Turn off the hob at the wall and contact a qualified technician. Common codes: E3 = high temperature sensor, E5 = IGBT overheating, F3/F4 = sensor failure.
Can I use the hob if the glass surface is cracked?
No. If the glass is cracked, switch off the appliance immediately at the mains to avoid electric shock. Contact a qualified technician for replacement.
How do I set the timer to turn a cooking zone off?
Touch the slider of the desired zone, then touch '-' or '+' of the timer control to set time (up to 99 minutes). The zone will automatically switch off when time elapses, showing 'H'.
What is the Flex Zone and how do I use it?
The Flex Zone is a large area that can be used as one big zone (e.g., for large pans) or as two independent zones. To activate as big zone, touch the left zone slider, then the flex zone button. The indicator lights up. Adjust power via slider.
Why does my hob make a humming noise on high heat?
This is normal for induction cooking. The humming comes from electromagnetic vibrations in the cookware. It should lessen or disappear at lower heat settings.
How do I clean the induction hob properly?
For everyday soiling, switch off power, apply a cooktop cleaner on warm (not hot) glass, rinse, and dry. For burnt spills, use a razor blade scraper at a 30° angle. Never use abrasive scourers or harsh chemicals.

Before you install the hob, make sure that

  • the work surface is square and level, and no structural members inte space requirements
  • the work surface is made of a heat-resistant material
  • if the hob is installed above an oven, the oven has a built-in coolin
  • the installation will comply with all clearance requirements and applicable standards and regulations
  • a suitable isolating switch providing full disconnection from the mains supply is incorporated in the permanent wiring, mounted and positioned comply with the local wiring rules and regulations.

The isolating switch must be of an approved type and provide a 3 m contact separation in all poles (or in all active [phase] conductors if t wiring rules allow for this variation of the requirements)

  • the isolating switch will be easily accessible to the customer with the installed
  • you consult local building authorities and by-laws if in doubt regarding installation
  • you use heat-resistant and easy-to-clean finishes (such as ceramic tiles wall surfaces surrounding the hob.

When you have installed the hob, make sure that

  • the power supply cable is not accessible through cupboard doors or c
  • there is adequate flow of fresh air from outside the cabinetry to the hob
  • if the hob is installed above a drawer or cupboard space, a thermal barrier is installed below the base of the hob

- the isolating switch is easily accessible by the customer

Before locating the fixing brackets

The unit should be placed on a stable, smooth surface (use the packag apply force onto the controls protruding from the hob.

Adjusting the bracket position
