Frequently Asked Questions - BLT370 CLARION

How do I pair the BLT370 with my mobile phone?
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Press and hold the [◀◀] and [▶▶▶] buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds to enter pairing mode. On your phone, search for devices and select 'CLARION_HSF'. Enter PIN 0000 when prompted.
Can I pair the BLT370 with multiple devices?
The BLT370 can pair and connect to one mobile phone at a time for handsfree calls. However, it can simultaneously connect to a Bluetooth audio transmitter (e.g., Clarion DGL370) for music streaming. To pair another phone, disconnect the current one first.
Why does my phone not auto-connect when I start the car?
Auto-connection depends on the multiple re-connection mode setting. Ensure it is turned ON (factory default). Press and hold [VOL+] and [VOL-] simultaneously for 2 seconds to toggle the mode. Also verify Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
How do I adjust the volume for music and calls separately?
The BLT370 has two separate volume settings: one for handsfree mode and one for music mode. Use the [VOL+] and [VOL-] buttons during music streaming or a call to adjust the respective volume. The default level is 14 out of 19.
No sound during a call. What should I check?
First, ensure the car stereo is set to AUX mode and the telephone interrupt is ON. Check volume levels on both the BLT370 and the car stereo. Verify the BLT370 is paired and connected to your phone. If using an external microphone, ensure it is properly plugged into the 2.5mm jack.
How do I reset the BLT370 to factory settings?
Press the [RESET] button once. This clears all pairing information and restores default settings. Note: The unit remains powered on after reset; previously connected devices may still attempt to connect.
Can I use the BLT370 with any car stereo?
The BLT370 is designed for car stereos with an AUX input (RCA or 3.5mm) and a telephone interrupt (TEL-INT) function for handsfree calls. It works best with Clarion units from 2007 and later. Check your stereo's manual for compatibility.
What does the LED indicator mean?
The LED shows the unit's status: Red blink every 5 sec = powered on; Alternate red/blue blink = pairing mode; Blue blink every 5 sec = mobile phone connected; Rapid alternate blink = incoming call. Refer to the manual's indicator table for full details.
How do I use the telephone interrupt feature?
Connect the TEL-INT pin from the BLT370 cable to your car stereo's telephone mute line. Enable telephone interrupt on your car stereo. When a call comes in, the stereo automatically switches to AUX mode. Music streaming pauses during the call.
The BLT370 is not powering on. What could be wrong?
Check the 2A fuse in the LC box. If blown, replace it with the same rating. Verify the car ignition is ON (ACC position) and wiring is correct. If the fuse blows again, consult your dealer or an authorized installer.

4. INTRODUCTION TO BLUETOOTH® "PAIRING"

What is Bluetooth ^® wireless technology?

Bluetooth ^® wireless technology is a radio technology that connects devices, such as mobile phones and headsets, without wires or cords over a short distance of approximately 10 meters (approx. 33 feet). Get more information at www.bluetooth.com.

What is Bluetooth ^® wireless profiles?

Bluetooth ^® wireless profiles are the different ways that Bluetooth ^® devices communicate with other devices. Bluetooth ^® phones support either the headset profile (HSP), the hands-free profile (HFP) or both. In order to support a certain of profiles, a phone manufacturer must implement certain mandatory features within the phone's software. The Bluetooth ^® Audio/Mobile-phone Transceiver unit supports both HSP and HFP profiles. In addition, it also supports A2DP and AVRCP in order to allow music streaming and playback control. Please refer chapter “Music Streaming and Playback Control” on page 19 for more description on these profiles.

What is pairing?

With a mobile phone featuring Bluetooth® technology, you must "pair" the Transceiver unit with the phone/Bluetooth® Audio Transmitter before you use it for the first time.

"Pairing" creates a unique wireless link between the phone/Bluetooth® Audio Transmitter with Bluetooth® wireless technology and your Bluetooth® Audio/Mobile-phone Transceiver unit eliminating the need to repeat the pairing process during future use. Bluetooth® devices will not work if the devices have not been paired.

What is passkey?

Passkey or PIN is a code that you enter on your mobile phone to pair it with the Transceiver unit. This makes your phone and the Transceiver unit recognize each other and automatically work together.
