Frequently Asked Questions - SGA7124 BEKO

How do I descale my Beko SGA7124 iron?
Use the self-clean function: fill the tank with water, set the iron to maximum temperature, unplug it, hold it over a sink, and press the self-clean button. Steam and scale will be expelled.
Can I use tap water in the iron?
Yes, but to prevent scale buildup, it is recommended to use a mixture of tap water and distilled water, or completely distilled water if you have hard water.
Why does my iron leak water?
Leaking can occur if the temperature is too low for steam production, or if the anti-drip system is faulty. Ensure the iron is hot enough before using steam.
How do I clean the soleplate?
Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth after the iron has cooled. For stubborn residue, use a mixture of vinegar and water on a cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaners.
What does the auto shut-off feature do?
The iron automatically turns off if left horizontal for 30 seconds or vertical for 8 minutes to prevent accidents.
How do I use the shot of steam function?
Press the shot of steam button quickly while ironing. This releases a powerful burst of steam to remove stubborn creases on thick fabrics.
Can I use the iron for vertical steaming?
Yes, hold the iron vertically and press the steam button to steam hanging garments, curtains, or upholstery.
What is the best temperature for different fabrics?
Start with low temperatures for synthetics (1 dot), then silk/wool (2 dots), and finally cotton/linen (3 dots). Always check the garment care label.
Why is steam not coming out?
Ensure the water tank is filled and the iron has reached the selected temperature. If still no steam, try the self-clean function to clear blockages.
How do I store the iron?
Empty the water tank, allow the iron to cool, wrap the cord loosely, and store it upright on its heel rest in a dry place.
