Frequently Asked Questions - 731-062 Meec Tools

How do I prime the pump before first use?
Ensure the pump is fully submerged in water. Submerge it at an angle to let air escape. Plug in and wait a few seconds for the pump to self-prime. If not priming, check the outlet for obstructions.
What type of water can this pump handle?
The pump is designed for clean or slightly dirty water up to 35°C. It can handle particles up to 5 mm in size. Do not use for corrosive, flammable, or sewage water.
Can the pump run dry?
No, running dry can damage the pump. The integrated float switch automatically stops the pump when water level drops too low to prevent dry running.
How do I clean the pump after use?
Disconnect power and rinse the exterior with clean water. Remove the filter cover and clean the filter. For stubborn debris, use a soft brush. Dry before storage.
Why does the pump keep turning on and off?
This is normal with the float switch. If cycling too frequently, check if the float is obstructed or if the water level fluctuates rapidly. Adjust the float position if possible.
What is the maximum head height?
The pump can lift water up to 8 meters vertically. Actual performance depends on hose length and diameter.
How do I store the pump in winter?
Empty all water from the pump and hose. Dry thoroughly and store in a frost-free location. Ensure the float switch is free to move.
Can I replace the power cord if damaged?
Yes, the power cord is replaceable. Use only a cord with same specifications (H05RN-F 3G1.0mm²). Consult a qualified electrician if unsure.
What spare parts are available?
Available spare parts include impeller, seal kit, float switch, and cable. Contact Meec Tools support or authorized dealers.
How often should I service the pump?
For regular use, service annually: replace seals if leaking, clean filter, and check impeller for wear. After heavy use or pumping dirty water, inspect sooner.
