USE
- The pump is not self-priming. The magnetic rotor in the pump housing generates centrifugal force, which conveys the water to the nozzle, where it is forced out.
- The fountain pump may only be started in accordance with the safety instructions. It can be placed in water or used in combination with a fountain or pond ornament. Position the fountain pump on a level surface, slightly higher than the bottom of the pond. This ensures that the fountain pump will not become clogged by sediment from the bottom of the pond too quickly. If necessary, the fountain pump can also be used in a horizontal position. However, the motor shaft must always be horizontal to avoid excessive wear. Regardless of which nozzle is to be used, it must be positioned so that it protrudes above the surface of the water.
- All electrical parts in the pump are coated with synthetic resin to increase safety. For design reasons, there is a cavity at the very bottom of the pump housing, where water accumulates during operation. This is intentional and does not represent any risk.
MAINTENANCE
NOTE:
Unplug the fountain pump prior to undertaking service and maintenance.
Cleaning the filter
The fountain pump's sponge filter should only be cleaned when required, as cleaning also eliminates necessary microorganisms. However, the filter must be cleaned as soon as the fountain pump's effectiveness becomes noticeably impaired, or when the dust filter is no longer working satisfactorily.
- Press in the filter housing's sides and remove it from the pump body.
- Take the sponge filter out of the filter housing and clean it with clean, cold water.
WARNING!
Never use the fountain pump without the sponge filter as this can damage the pump.
Cleaning mechanical parts
Only when visibly dirty:
- Open the cover to the pump chamber (3) by turning the bayonet coupling for the pump housing (9) one quarter turn.
- Carefully take the magnetic rotor (8) off the shaft (7). It is necessary to pull sufficiently firmly to overcome the magnet's force.
- Do not use any tools to clean the pump's interior, simply rinse it out with warm water.
-
Use a soft sponge to wash away any residual dirt.
-
Reassemble the fountain pump. Carefully replace the rotor on the shaft. When the rotor reaches a certain position, it is pulled towards the pump housing by the magnet.
-
Check that the ceramic washer (6) and the rubber gasket (5) are correctly positioned.
-
Check that the O-ring (4) is correctly positioned before replacing the cover (3) to the pump chamber.
-
Connect the power cable briefly (3 seconds) to check that the magnetic rotor (8) is moving freely. Some noise will be heard during this dry running. This is not a fault. When the fountain pump is subsequently used in water, it will be silent.
Winter storage
Place the fountain pump in a container filled with water in a frostproof room. Storing the pump in water avoids deposits accumulating. If the pump is stored in a dry place, it can lead to deposits blocking the rotor.
