Save these instructions for future reference. If you sell the grill, these instructions should be handed over to the new owner.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate. Only connect to an earthed mains supply.
- Keep children under supervision to make sure they do not play with the appliance. Keep the product under careful supervision when it is used by, or near children. Keep the power cord out of the reach of children. Store the packaging materials out of the reach of children.
- The product must be connected to the mains supply with a residual current device with a maximum tripping current of 30 mA. Contact an authorised electrician for further information.
• Always unplug from the power cord when the product is not in use. - Do not use the product near water, e.g. bath tubs or wash basins etc. Never expose the product to rain or moisture.

Regularly check the power cord for damage. Do not use the product if the power cord is damaged. A damaged power cord must be replaced by an authorised service centre, or other qualified personnel, to ensure safe use.
• Unplug the power cord immediately and do not use the product in the following circumstances. -
If the product, its casing or the power cord are damaged.
- If the product is visibly damaged.
- If the product has been subjected to a heavy blow, has been dropped, or damaged in any other way.
- Pull out the plug immediately in the following circumstances.
- If the product is not working properly.
- Before cleaning, and before moving the product.
- After each use.
- Do not pull the power cord to unplug the plug. Do not touch the power cord or the plug with wet hands.
- Never carry or pull the product by the power cord.
- Do not run the power cord over sharp edges. Make sure that the power cord cannot get clenched.
- Never immerse the power cord or thermostat switch in water or any other liquid.
- Check extension cords at regular intervals, and replace them if they are damaged. Only connect to an earthed mains outlet with a 10 A fuse.
- Place the power cord so that it cannot be walked on, tripped over, or unplugged by mistake.
- Place the power cord so it cannot come into contact with hot parts.
- Always switch off the product before unplugging the power cord.
- Allow the product to cool completely before cleaning and before removing parts.
WARNING: The grill plate gets very hot and remains hot for a long time after the product has been switched off – risk of burn injuries. Do not touch the hot surfaces on the product. Handle the product with care after use.
- Do not place the product near the edge of a table, or where there is a risk of it falling down. Avoid contact with the hot surfaces.
- Do not place the product on or near a hot stove, or in a hot oven.
- Place the product on a stable, dry surface before use.
- Never leave the product unattended when switched on.
- Switch off the product when not in use.
- The product is not intended for commercial use.
- Do not use the product without the drip tray and base.
- Never cover the grill plate with aluminium foil, tins or other similar items, this could damage the nonstick coating.
• Always check before using the product that it is correctly assembled. - Check that the grill plate does not touch the heating element – risk of personal injury.
- Watch out for splashing fat when grilling.

Put the product on a heat-resistant surface. Place the product at least 10 cm away from a wall when in use.

The product must only be used as it is intended to be used and in accordance with these instructions. Any other use could result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
- Only use accessories and attachments recommended by the manufacturer.
- Repairs must only be carried out by qualified personnel. Non-approved repairs can result in the risk of personal injury.
- A damaged power cord must be replaced by an authorised service centre, or qualified person, to ensure safe use.

ASSEMBLY

Insert half of the threaded rod (a) into the bottom tube (8).
Put the ring (7) on the bottom tube (8), fit the two tubes together and screw tight.
NOTE:
There are two tubes (6), (8) in the pack. The tube (6) is underneath the packaging material.

Fit the feet (9A) in the holder (9B). They will click when they are properly connected.

Put the metal washer (15) on the foot holder and screw the metal washer and feet firmly onto the holder.

Fit the foot holder (9) and bottom tube (8) together. The bottom part is now ready.

Place the bottom part on a dry, level and stable surface, and put the base (5) on the bottom part.

Put the drip tray (4) in the holder on the base and lock in place with the pin.
NOTE:
- The drip tray holds 0.3 l. Empty the drip tray when it is full.
- The drip tray gets hot when grilling – risk of burn injuries. Use potholders, or the equivalent.
- Clean the drip tray with water and washing-up liquid after use.

Place the grill plate (3) on the base (5). Insert the power cord (14) through the grommet (11) and place the grill plate horizontally on the base.
NOTE: The grill place must only be used together with the base.

To dismantle the lid, open it to an angle of 45^ and pull out the hinge pins.
When using the grill outdoors you can position the lid to provide protection from the wind.

NOTE: Make sure that there is no risk of tripping over the power cord. Unplug the power cord when the grill is not in use.
USE
Before using for the first time
- Remove all the packaging material and clean the grill plate (3), drip tray (4) and metal lid (1). Do not wash the grill plate in a dishwasher.
IMPORTANT: Carefully dry all the parts, especially the connection (14). Never immerse the detachable temperature regulator in water or any other liquid.
- Heat the grill to the maximum temperature for 3–5 minutes, with the lid closed and without any food. The first time you use the grill it may emit fumes. This is quite normal.
Use
- Do not place the grill closer than 70 cm to any flammable material.
- Plug in the power cord and switch on the grill.
- Set the required temperature with the temperature regulator (12). It takes about 3 minutes for the grill to reach the set temperature.
- The temperature status lamp (13) goes off when the set temperature is reached.
- Place the food to be cooked on the grill plate (3) when the set temperature has been reached.
IMPORTANT: The grill gets very hot when set to 5. Reduce the temperature, if necessary.
- Switch off the grill, unplug the power cord and allow the grill to cool after use.
Cooking times
The table below gives approximate cooking times for different foods. The cooking time depends on the quantity/weight and whether the lid is used or not during the cooking.

Grill tips

For best results, marinate the food to be cooked in oil, vinegar and spices overnight.

Handle the meat with grill tongs or grill spatula. Do not prick the meat, this will make it drier. Sharp utensils can damage the nonstick coating.
- Turn over during the grilling to avoid burning the surface. Do not turn over too often, this will make the food drier.
- Do not overcook, this will make the food drier.
- If food fastens on the grill plate, rub the plate with paper dipped in cooking oil. Never use metal objects to remove residual scraps of food.
MAINTENANCE
Cleaning and maintenance
- Switch off the grill and unplug the power cord.
- Allow the grill to cool.
- Remove the detachable temperature regulator (12) from the connection on the grill.
- Grill plate and lid: Clean with a cloth moistened with water and washing-up liquid after use. Do not use steel wool, Scotchbrite, or a metal brush etc. as this will damage the coating.
- Drip tray: Empty at regular intervals and clean with water and washing-up liquid.
- Base and feet: Clean with a damp cloth and wipe dry. Splashed fat can be removed with a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive agents or solvents.
NOTE:
- The grill plate has a nonstick coating. Make sure not to scratch the coating when grilling and cleaning.
- Never expose the product to rain or moisture.
Tips
Cover the grill with plastic to protect it from dust and dirt if it is not going to be used for some time. Store in a dry place.
Waste disposal
Unplug the power cord immediately if the product is not working properly. Products that have reached the end of their useful life must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
