These instructions give you all the necessary directions and advice for using, cleaning and maintaining the appliance. If you follow these instructions, you will always have excellent results, save time and prevent problems.

◆ SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND DIRECTIONS
General
- Read the instructions for use carefully and keep them in a safe place.
• Only use the appliance as described in these instructions. - Don't leave the appliance unattended when the plug is in the wall socket.
- Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
- Have any repairs carried out only by a qualified electrician.
Electricity and heat
- Check before use whether the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage specified on the appliance.
- Check the cord regularly for damage. Don't use the appliance if the cord is damaged. A damaged power cord should be replaced by a qualified service engineer.
- Pull the plug and not the cord when you remove the plug from the socket.
- Keep the cord from contact with hot surfaces or steam.
• Make sure that the cord does not hang over the edge of the table or draining board or onto the floor. - Don't use the appliance in the direct vicinity of heat sources such as a cooker or an oven.
• Make sure that the appliance, the cord and the plug do not come into contact with water.

• Only use the appliance indoors.
• Never use the appliance in damp places.
• Make sure that your hands are dry when you touch the appliance, the cord or the plug.
- Remove the plug from the wall socket when you are not using the appliance, when you fit an accessory to the appliance or remove it or before you clean the appliance.
- Do not touch the moving parts of the appliance during use.
- Never dip the appliance or the cord in water or any other liquid:
- Do not touch the appliance if it has fallen into the water. Remove the plug from the wall socket, switch off the appliance and do not use it again.
- Only use the appliance for the use for which it is intended. If you use the appliance for other purposes, this could cause damage.
- The appliance is only intended for domestic use and is not suitable for professional use.
- The knife blades of the blender foot and the knives of the chopper are sharp. Handle them carefully.
◆ OPERATION
General
You can use the hand blender for mixing, blending, mashing and chopping ingredients. The appliance consists of a motor body and is supplied with a stainless steel blender foot, a stainless steel whisk and a chopper bowl with chopper.

First use
- Remove the packaging material from the appliance.
- Clean the appliance. See the 'Cleaning and maintenance' section.

USE
Blender foot
The blender foot is used to make mayonnaise and milkshakes, to mash soups, baby food and special diet food and to mix drinks and cocktails.
- Check that the appliance is not connected to the wall plug.
- Place the blender foot on the motor body. Turn the blender foot tight by turning it in the direction of ➞.
- Put the ingredients in a container, for instance a dish, a saucepan, a bowl or the measuring jug supplied.
- Put the plug into the wall socket.
- Place the blender foot in the container. Whilst doing this hold the foot at a slight angle. The ingredients should at least cover the bottom of the blender foot.
- Put the speed regulator into position 1.
- Press on the on/off switch to switch the appliance on and keep this switch pressed in.
- If required, turn the speed regulator during use gradually onto a higher setting. With the turbo button you can let the appliance run at high speed.
- Release the on/off switch or the turbo button to switch the appliance off.
- After use remove the blender foot from the container. Do not take the blender foot out of the container whilst the motor is still running; this is to prevent splashes.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Never use the appliance for more than 1 continuous minute. Switch the appliance off and let the motor cool down for at least 4 minutes. This is to prevent damage to the motor by overheating.
- For mixing fluids, use a taller container filled less than half full or always make small quantities at a time. Place the blender foot in the container until it touches the bottom.

• Make sure that no part of your body is above the container when you are blending hot ingredients.
- Do you want to blend warm food in the saucepan? First remove the saucepan from the heat source.
Whisk
The whisk is used for whisking whipping cream and egg white and for making deserts.
- Check that the appliance is not connected to the wall plug.
- Insert the whisk into the connector for the whisk.
- Place the connector with the whisk onto the motor body. Turn the connector tight by turning it in the direction of .
- Put the ingredients into a bowl.
- Put the plug of the hand blender into the wall socket.
- Put the whisk into the bowl.
- Put the speed regulator in position 1.
- Press on the on/off switch to switch the appliance on and keep this switch pressed in.
- If required, turn the speed regulator during use gradually onto a higher setting. With the turbo button you can let the appliance run at high speed.
- Release the on/off switch or the turbo button to switch the appliance off.
- Remove the whisk from the bowl after use. Do not take
the whisk out of the bowl whilst the motor is still running; this is to prevent splashes.

Chopper
The chopper is used for chopping meat, cheese, onions, garlic, herbs, nuts, etc.
- Check that the appliance is not connected to the wall plug.
- Place the connector for the chopper onto the motor body. Turn the connector tight by turning it in the direction of →.
- Place the chopper on the central axle in the mixing bowl. Careful! The knives are sharp.
- Put the ingredients in the mixing bowl.
- Place the motor body with the connector accurately on the mixing bowl so that it seals properly.
- Put the plug into the wall socket.
- Put the speed regulator in position 1.
- Press on the on/off switch to switch the appliance on and keep this switch pressed in.
- Turn the speed regulator during use gradually onto a higher setting. With the turbo button you can let the appliance run at the highest speed. For chopping meat and cheese for instance, the highest speed is recommended.
10 Release the on/off switch or turbo button to switch the appliance off. - Remove the motor body with the connector from the mixing bowl. Do not remove the motor body from the

mixing bowl while the motor is still running; this is to prevent splashes.

♦ CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
PLEASE NOTE
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket before you clean the appliance.
- Never immerse the motor body in water or in other liquids. This can cause an electric shock and makes the appliance very unsafe for use.
- No aggressive cleaning agents, abrasive or sharp objects such as hard brushes or knives should be used during cleaning.
Follow the instructions below when you clean the appliance:
- Remove the plug from the wall socket.
- Remove the accessory from the motor body by turning the accessory in the direction of ☐←.
- Clean the motor body with a damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly. Never immerse the motor body in water and never place it in the dishwasher.
- Clean the accessories in warm water with some washing-up liquid. Rinse the accessories to remove any soap suds and then dry them thoroughly. The accessories are also dishwasher-proof.
◆ STORAGE
- Roll up the power cord.
- Put the motor body and all accessories away. If you want to use the wall holder supplied, place the blender foot on the motor body and place the unit in the holder. Put the cord away in its dedicated opening.

THE ENVIRONMENT

Warranty regulations
TOMADO provides a 2-year warranty for all defects caused by hidden deficiencies which render the appliance useless for normal operation.
The warranty runs from the date of purchase; we advise you to carefully save your receipt.
- Within the warranty period any defects in production or material will be resolved free of charge, by means of reparation, replacement of parts or replacement of the appliance as a whole.
• The warranty certificate has to be filled in by the sales person at the moment of purchase.
- Repairs will only be made under warranty in case it can proven (by means of a filled in warranty card and the receipt) that the day the complaint is filed falls into the warranty period.
The warranty does not apply when defects or damages result from an accident, misuse, negligence (e.g. incorrect cleansing), or when repairs of alterations have been executed outside the authorized TOMADO service centre (excl. disassembling, as stated in the instruction manual).
The warranty does not cover any defects arising when the appliance is connected to the wrong outlet voltage, not following the guidelines in the instruction manual and usual wear and tear.
The warranty does not cover any defects arising from the lack of frequent descaling of appliances, whatever type of water has been used (especially for steam irons, coffee machines and water boilers).
- TOMADO cannot be held responsible for any material damage or personal accident resulting from connecting the appliance in breach of the locally applicable safety regulations and technical standards (for instance an inferior AC outlet). The warranty under no circumstances grants the right for any compensation.
- All other claims, including damages, are excluded unless the Law states otherwise.
- Other warranty regulations than the warranty regulations stated above are not applicable.

What do you do in case your appliance does not work?
When your appliance shows defects, you can refer to your salesperson. Your salesperson will make sure any defect will be repaired as soon as possible.
Repairs outside the warranty period
You can always hand in your appliance to have it repaired outside the warranty period. This will of course not be free of charge.
