How do I pair a Bluetooth device?

Press the Bluetooth button on the remote or soundbar until the indicator flashes. Select 'Mythos 3C-85' from your device's Bluetooth list.

Why is there no sound?

Check that the soundbar is powered on and the correct input is selected. Ensure your TV's audio output is set to external speakers. Try increasing the volume.

Does the soundbar support Dolby Atmos?

No, the Mythos 3C-85 is a 3.0-channel system without height channels. It supports standard Dolby Digital and DTS.

Can I add a subwoofer?

This model does not have a dedicated subwoofer output. However, it has built-in bass radiators for enhanced low frequencies.

How do I clean the soundbar?

Unplug the device and wipe the grille and casing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.

The remote control isn't working. What should I do?

Replace the batteries with fresh ones. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the soundbar. If the issue persists, contact Definitive Technology support.

Can I use the soundbar with a computer?

Yes, via Bluetooth, 3.5mm aux cable, or optical audio. For optical, your PC must have an optical output.

What is the maximum volume level?

The volume ranges from 0 to 40. At maximum, the soundbar can produce up to 100 dB SPL. Use caution to avoid hearing damage.

2 Connect speaker wires to the terminals on the sound bar

1. Strip about 3/8 in (10 mm) of insulation from each speaker wire.
2. Push down on the top of the terminal to expose the hole in the post.
3. Insert the bare wire through the hole. Make sure the wire does not touch any other terminals.
4. Release the push terminal to secure the wire.
5. Repeat these steps for the other terminal.

Note: The speaker includes three channels and can either use three sets of two conductors or a six-conductor cable.

3 Adjust the sound bar length

The speaker has a pair of symmetrically adjustable extensions that you can adjust to match the length of your TV. Use the included hex key to loosen the set screws on the back of the speaker, and slide the extensions so that the speaker is even with the edges of your TV. After you adjust the extensions, tighten the screws to lock the extensions in place.

Note: We recommend that you use a flat-head screwdriver to separate the extension from the sound bar.

Select one of three methods to mount the sound bar.

Use a stud finder to locate and mark the studs on your wall. If you are not able to secure the sound bar to studs, use the appropriate wall anchors for your wall type.

1. Place the wall-mounting bracket against the wall under your TV.

Note: Make sure to leave enough space for the speaker to comfortably fit under your TV.

1. Mark the locations where you will drill pilot holes.

1. Drill pilot holes into the marked locations on the wall.
2. Align the holes on the wall-mounting bracket with the holes in the wall.

Secure the wall brackets by placing 2 in. long screws into studs or appropriate size wall anchors. Use the mounting holes as close to the hooks as possible. More screws can be used if needed for additional support.

1. Insert the screws into the wall through the wall-mounting bracket.

Note: If none of the screws go into a wall stud, consider using wall anchors (not included) to secure the screws.

1. Align the speaker holes with the bracket hooks and then hang the speaker on the hooks.

1. Remove your TV from its packaging or existing mount.
2. Lay the TV down on its screen on a flat surface.
3. Lay the sound bar under your TV.

Mounting Option 2

VESA TV Bracket

Place both of the included VESA mount brackets over the holes on the back of your TV.

Note: The included mounting brackets are compatible with most 300, 400, and 600 VESA mounting hole patterns. The speaker's threaded inserts can be used with many other aftermarket brackets.

1. Place your VESA TV wall mount on top of the mount brackets and your TV. Adjust the position of the mount brackets as needed.

2. Insert four screws (not included) into your TV to secure the VESA mount and sound bar mount brackets to your TV.

3. Attach the sound bar to the brackets by inserting two of the included screws into the sound bar with the included spacers to level the sound bar with the TV.

4. Mount your VESA mount with the attached TV and sound bar to your wall. For help, refer to the instructions that came with your VESA mount.

Mounting Option 3

No Bracket (Wall-Mounting Template)

Follow the instructions on the included wall-mounting template to mount the sound bar to your wall without a mounting bracket.

5 Connect the speaker wires to your receiver or amplifier

Connect the other ends of your speaker wires to your amplifier. Ensure that the speaker is always connected to the receiver or amplifier + to + and - to -. Make sure the channels on the sound bar are connected to the matching channels on the receiver or amplifier.

Configure your AV Receiver

Set the Left, Center and Right crossover frequency on the receiver to 150 Hz or higher. All lower frequencies should be sent to a powered subwoofer.

7 Setup is now complete!

Limited 5-Year Warranty (United States and Canada)

Definitive Technology, LLC (herein "Definitive") warrants to the original purchaser only that this Definitive Loudspeaker Product (the "Product") will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a limited period of five (5) years from the date of original retail purchase from a Definitive Authorized Dealer. However, this Warranty will automatically terminate prior to the expiration of the five (5) years if the original retail purchaser sells or otherwise transfers the Product to any other party. The original retail purchaser shall hereinafter be referred to as "you." To allow Definitive to offer the best possible warranty service, please visit the website on the Product Registration Card(s) and fill out the form within ten (10) days of the date of purchase.

Defective Products must be shipped, together with proof of purchase, prepaid insured to the Definitive Authorized Dealer from whom you purchased the Product, or an authorized service center. Products must be shipped in the original shipping container or its equivalent: in any case the risk of loss or damage in transit is to be borne by you. If upon examination at the Factory or Definitive Authorized Dealer it is determined that the Product was defective in materials or workmanship at any time during this Warranty period, Definitive or the Definitive Authorized Dealer will, at its option, repair or replace this Product at no additional charge, except as set forth below. All replaced parts and Products become the property of Definitive. Products replaced or repaired under this warranty will be returned to you, within a reasonable time, freight prepaid.

This warranty does not include service or parts to repair damage caused by accident, disaster, misuse, abuse, negligence, inadequate packing or shipping procedures, commercial use, voltage inputs in excess of the rated maximum of the unit, cosmetic appearance of cabinetry not directly attributable to defect in materials or workmanship, or service, repair, or modification of the Product which has not been authorized or approved by Definitive. This warranty shall terminate if the Serial number on the Product has been removed, tampered with or defaced. This warranty is in lieu of all other expressed Warranties. If this Product is defective in materials or workmanship as warranted above, your sole remedy shall be repair or replacement as provided above. In no event will Definitive be liable to you for any incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use the Product, even if Definitive or a Definitive Authorized Dealer has been advised of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim by any other party. Some states or provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential damages, so the above limitation and exclusion may not apply to you. All implied warranties on this Product are limited to the duration of this expressed Warranty.
