How do I reset the timer to factory defaults?

Go to Main Menu > Settings > System > Set Factory Defaults and select YES. This erases all settings, schedules, and Wi-Fi information.

How do I connect the timer to my Wi-Fi network?

Download the Intermatic Ascend app from your app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the timer. Ensure the timer is in Access Point Mode (display shows AP icon).

What is Access Point Mode?

Access Point Mode creates a direct Wi-Fi connection between your mobile device and the timer for initial setup. The timer's SSID (e.g., 7DT-xxx) will appear in your phone's Wi-Fi list.

How do I set a schedule?

Press MENU, go to Schedule > Edit Schedule. You can add new events with ON/OFF actions, select days (All, Weekdays, Weekends, or custom), and set times (fixed, dusk, or dawn). Templates are also available.

Can I control the timer with voice commands?

Yes. Enable the Intermatic Home Skills and Custom Skills in the Alexa app. Then you can use voice commands like 'Alexa, turn on the timer' or ask for status.

What does error code E-7 mean?

Error E-7 is logged in the Error Log. The manual does not specify detailed codes; contact Intermatic support at 815-675-7000 for assistance.

How do I change the time and date?

Press MENU, go to Settings > Time & Date. You can adjust time format (12/24h), time, date, and enable/disable Daylight Saving Time.

How does Random mode work?

Random mode varies your scheduled ON/OFF times by up to ±15 minutes to simulate occupancy. Enable it via Main Menu > Mode > Random.

Can I use this timer with a three-way switch?

Yes. Follow the three-way wiring diagram in the manual. The red wire is used to connect through the remote switch. Maximum wire length to remote is 100 ft.

Is the timer suitable for heaters or saunas?

No. The manual explicitly warns NOT to use the timer for devices that could have dangerous consequences due to inaccurate timing, such as sun lamps, saunas, heaters, and crock pots.

Access Point Mode

- Creates a peer to peer communication network between the Timer and your mobile device to offer a direct connection for initial setup, scheduling, and control of your Timer.

Auto Timer	operates using your programmed schedule of weekly ON/OFF events.
Random Similar to Auto mode except that your programmed schedule occurs randomly at +/- 15 minutes from the programmed time.
Manual Operates like a manual toggle switch to turn devices ON and OFF, regardless of any schedules programmed in the timer.

Note: To enter Auto or Random mode, a programmed schedule must be loaded into memory.

Timer won't enter Auto or Random mode when you press Mode.	A schedule is not saved. Choose a template or define a schedule of events.

LIMITED THREE-YEAR WARRANTY

If within the warranty period specified, this product fails due to a defect in material or workmanship, Intermatic Incorporated will repair or replace it, at its sole option, free of charge. This warranty is extended to the original household purchaser only and is not transferable. This warranty does not apply to: (a) damage to units caused by accident, dropping or abuse in handling, acts of God or any negligent use; (b) units which have been subject to unauthorized repair, opened, taken apart or otherwise modified; (c) units not used in accordance with instructions; (d) damages exceeding the cost of the product; (e) sealed lamps and/or lamp bulbs, LED's and batteries; (f) the finish on any portion of the product, such as surface and/or weathering, as this is considered normal wear and tear; (g) transit damage, initial installation costs, removal costs or reinstallation costs.

INTERMATIC INCORPORATED WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND THE WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY MODIFIED TO EXIST ONLY AS CONTAINED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, AND SHALL BE OF THE SAME DURATION AS THE WARRANTY PERIOD STATED ABOVE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON THE DURATION OF AN IMPLIED WARRANTY, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
