Can I wash the Oster FPSTHB2600W013 immersion blender parts in the dishwasher?

No. The manual specifies that you should not place stick mixer components in the dishwasher. Wash blades and cup by hand with mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly.

How long can I run the stick mixer continuously?

Do not operate the stick mixer continuously for more than 60 seconds. After that, allow it to rest for at least one minute before using again.

Can I chop ice with the immersion blender?

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
2. Always operate the stick mixer from power source of the same voltage, frequency and rating as indicated on the product rating plate.
3. Close supervision is necessary when stick mixer is used by or near children, or incapacitated persons. DO NOT allow children to use it as a toy.
4. DO NOT operate stick mixer with a damaged cord or plug, after the appliance malfunctions or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner. Take the appliance to the nearest Oster® Authorized Service Center for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
5. DO NOT twist, kink or wrap the power cord around the appliance as this may cause the insulation to weaken and split particularly where it enters the unit.
6. To protect against risk of electrical shock, DO NOT put stick mixer motor in water or other liquid. This may cause personal injury and/or damage to the product.
7. After each operation, allow the stick mixer to cool for 3 minutes before using it again.
8. DO NOT process food containing hard objects that cannot be safely broken up by the blade.
9. To protect against fire, DO NOT operate the unit in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
10. This stick mixer should not be used in the immediate vicinity of water, such as bathtub, washbowls, swimming pool, etc., where the likelihood of immersion or splashing could occur.
11. Switch off and unplug from outlet while not in use, before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning. Remove by grasping the plug; DO NOT pull on the cord.
12. Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, as well as spatulas and other utensils away from blade during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons and/or damage to the stick mixer. A spatula or scraper may be used when the appliance is not in operation.
13. When mixing liquids, especially hot liquids, use a tall container or make small quantities at a time to reduce spillage.
14. DO NOT place stick mixer on or near a hot burner or in a heated oven.
15. DO NOT use over a stove or other heat source. When mixing soups or other hot foods or liquids, remove the saucepan from the heat source before using the stick mixer.
16. This appliance is NOT intended to chop ice. Add ice to beverage after blending.
17. Blades are sharp. Handle with extreme care.
18. DO NOT use Stick Mixer for other than its intended use.
19. DO NOT leave stick mixer unattended while it is operating.
20. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by manufacturer may cause fire, electrical shock or injury.

23. SHORT POWER SUPPLY CORD INSTRUCTIONS

A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used if care is exercised in its use. If an extension cord is used, the electrical rating of the cord must be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME

Ensure that the appliance is switched off and unplugged from the supply socket if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.

The blades and cutting accessories have very sharp edges. Take care when handling or cleaning them.

Never immerse any part of the motor body or power cord and plug in water or any other liquid.

Never use harsh, abrasive or caustic cleaners to clean this appliance.

1. Remove your hand blender carefully from the box.
2. Wash all parts that will come into contact with food. Use warm soapy water then rinse and dry thoroughly.
3. Using a mild detergent solution, wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

STICK MIXER

DO NOT OPERATE THE STICK MIXER CONTINUOUSLY FOR MORE THAN 60 SECONDS WITHOUT GIVING IT A REST PERIOD OF ONE MINUTE

1. Attach the beater shaft to the motor housing by rotating the latter to the left until it locks firmly into place.
2. Insert the Stick Mixer into the food.
3. Press the ON button "ON". You can adjust the speed of your hand blender using the variable speed control. Use the TURBO button when processing tougher ingredients. Guide your blender through the food, moving it slowly up, down and from side to side. Your stick mixer will operate until the button is released.

For the most consistent results, food should be processed in small quantities and be cut into 1 inch cubes before blending. When pureeing food, it is important to use enough liquid (juice, milk, cream, broth, etc.) to create a smooth mixture.

• Adjust the consistency of the mixture by adding more liquids or soft solids.
• Don't use the Stick Mixer to process meat or cheese.

CHOPPING ATTACHMENT (MODELS FPSTHB2605W, FPSTHB2605R, FPSTHB2615W, FPSTHB2615R, & FPSTHB2615U ONLY)

THE CHOPPING BLADES HAVE VERY SHARP EDGES. TAKE CARE WHEN HANDLING OR CLEANING THEM.

NEVER PLACE THE CHOPPING BLADE ASSEMBLY ON THE MOTOR BODY BY ITSELF.

DO NOT OPERATE USING THE CHOPPING ATTACHMENT CONTINUOUSLY FOR MORE THAN 30 SECONDS (20 SECONDS ON HARD FOOD) WITHOUT GIVING IT A REST PERIOD OF ONE MINUTE. THE CHOPPING ATTACHMENT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR PROCESSING HOT FOOD.

Position the chopping bowl on a dry flat surface close to the mains supply socket.

1. Place the chopping blade into the chopping bowl.
2. Add the ingredients to the chopping bowl.
3. Fit the chopping bowl lid to the chopping bowl.
4. Twist the lid to lock it to the chopping bowl. Ensure that the lid is correctly assembled and securely locked in position.
5. Attach the motor housing into the top of the food chopping bowl cover and turn to the right until the motor housing is firmly locked into place. Plug cord into convenient outlet.
6. Press the ON button "ON". You can adjust the speed of your hand blender using the variable speed control. Use the TURBO button when processing tougher ingredients. Your hand blender will operate until the button is released.

WHISKING ATTACHMENT (MODELS FPSTHB2615W, FPSTHB2615R, & FPSTHB2615U ONLY)

DO NOT OPERATE USING THE WHISKING ATTACHMENT CONTINUOUSLY FOR MORE THAN 2 MINUTES WITHOUT GIVING IT A REST PERIOD OF ONE MINUTE.

Use the whisking attachment for beating eggs, mixing batter, ready-mix desserts, etc. The stainless steel whisk can be removed from the whisk collar for cleaning. Assuming the whisk has been removed from the whisk collar, assemble the whisking attachment as follows:

1. Attach the whisk collar to the motor housing by rotating the latter to the left until it locks firmly into place.
2. Push the whisk into the whisk collar until it clicks into place w.
3. Holding the unit firmly in your hand, press the ON button "ON". You can adjust the whisking speed using the variable speed control. Guide the whisk through the food, moving it from side to side.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Be sure unit is unplugged before attempting to clean.

Motor unit should be wiped clean with a damp cloth or sponge. NEVER immerse motor unit in water.

After using your stick mixer, the blades and mixing cup may be washed by hand with mild soap and water. Wash lid by hand using warm, soapy water with a cloth or sponge.

CAUTION: Blades are sharp. Handle carefully. Make sure all parts are completely dry before attempting to use again.

NOTE: Do not place stick mixer components in dishwasher.

STORAGE

Unplug unit and store in a clean, dry place. Never wrap cord tightly around the appliance. DO NOT put any stress on the cord where it enters the unit as it could cause the cord to fray and break.
