CARE AND USE:

Please read and follow all safety rules and operating instructions.

  • The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is accessible.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similar qualified person to avoid hazard.
  • Do not operate for any use other than intended.
  • To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord or plug in water or other liquids.
  • Do not connect or disconnect the electric plug when your hands are wet.
  • Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug.
  • Unplug cord from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR REFRIGERATOR

  • Remove the exterior and interior packing.
  • Before connecting the Refrigerator to the power source, let it stand upright for approximately 24 hours. This will reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from handling during transportation.
  • Clean the interior surface with lukewarm water using a soft cloth.
  • Install the handle on the door.

INSTALLATION OF YOUR REFRIGERATOR

  • The appliance is designed for built-in or recessed or free standing installation for indoor or outdoor use.
  • For free standing installation, 5 inches (127mm) of space between the back and sides of the unit are suggested, which allows the proper air circulation to cool the compressor and condenser. Even for built-in installation, it is a must to keep 14 " (6.35mm) space on each side and at the top. Take care that the air vent at the front of the appliance is never covered or blocked in any way.
  • Avoid locating the unit in moist areas.
  • CAUTION: This appliance is not designed for the storage of medicine or other medical products.
  • Two people should be used when moving the appliance.
  • Place your Refrigerator on a floor that is strong enough to support it when it is fully loaded.
  • This appliance uses flammable refrigerant. Take precaution to avoid damaging coolant pipe work during movement. Locate the Refrigerator away from direct sunlight and sources of heat (stove, heater, radiator, etc.). Direct sunlight may affect the acrylic coating and heat sources may increase electrical consumption. Extreme cold ambient temperatures may also cause the unit not to perform properly.
  • Plug the Refrigerator into an exclusive, properly installed-grounded wall outlet. Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning power and/or grounding should be directed to a certified electrician or call 1-800-448-2177 for general product assistance
  • Warning! If you must use an extension cord, for your safety:
  • Use only outdoor type with 3 prong grounding plug, rated for 15 amperes or more, approved by UL, marked with a W-A and a tag stating “Suitable for Use with Outdoor Appliance”.
  • Use the shortest length extension cord required. A 12-gauge extension cord of 50 ft. or less is acceptable.
  • Keep connections dry and off ground.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table top or other items where it can be pulled by children or tripped over.

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE LIMITS

  • Do not install in a location where temperature will fall below 44°F or go above 106°F. For best performance, do not install the Refrigerator behind a cabinet door or block the base grille.
  • It is recommended you install the appliance in a place where the ambient temperature is between 44° and 106°F (7°C-41°C). If the ambient temperature is above or below the recommended temperatures, the performance of the unit may be affected. For example, placing your unit in extreme cold or hot conditions may cause interior temperatures to fluctuate. The range of 34° - 43°F (1° - 6°C) may not be reached.

FRONT VENT

- This appliance is front breathing. Do not block the front air vent as this will result in high operating temperatures, higher energy usage and possible system overheating and failure.

ON/OFF Power

- To turn the appliance ON or OFF, touch the symbol and hold for 5 seconds.

Setting the Temperature Control

  • You can choose between Fahrenheit and Celsius for the temperature display by touching the “Lighting” symbol and hold for around 5-10 seconds. A Fahrenheit or Celsius degree indicator will appear next to the temperature display window
  • The temperature you are setting will increase by one degree each time you touch the UP symbol, and will decrease by one degree each time you touch the DOWN symbol.

  • The range of the temperature control is from 34 °F to 43°F.

  • To view the set temperature at any time, touch the UP or DOWN symbol. The set temperature will flash in the display window for 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, the temperature inside the unit will reappear in blue in the display window.
  • If the unit is unplugged, or power is lost or turned off, you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the unit will not start.
  • When you use the unit for the first time or restart the unit after it has been shut off for a long time, there could be a few degrees variance between the temperature you select and the one indicated on the LED readout. This is normal and is due to the length of the activation time. There should not be a problem once the unit has been running for a few hours.

Interior Light

- The unit is equipped with an interior LED light which can be turned ON or OFF by touching the symbol.

Door Lock

  • Your unit is provided with a lock and key combination.
  • The keys are located inside the plastic bag that contains the Owner's Manual. Insert the key into the lock and turn it counterclockwise to unlock the door. To lock the door, do the reverse operation, making sure the metal pin is engaged completely. Remove the key and put it in a secure place for safekeeping.

Shelves

  • To prevent damaging the door gasket, make sure to have the door all the way open when pulling the shelves out of the rail compartment.
  • For easy access to the stored content, you can pull the shelf approximately halfway out of the rail compartment. However this unit was designed with a plastic post on each side of the shelf track to prevent shelf contents from falling.
  • When removing the shelf from the inner rails, make sure to remove all shelf contents first. Then move the shelf to the position where the notches in the shelf are exactly aligned with the plastic posts and lift the shelf. In order to replace the shelf, repeat this procedure in reverse.

Defrosting

- Your Refrigerator is designed with “Auto-cycle” defrost system. During the “Off-cycle,” the refrigerated surfaces of the Refrigerator defrost automatically. Defrost water from the Refrigerator storage compartment drains automatically and part of it goes into a drainage container, which is located at the back of the Refrigerator above the compressor. The heat is transferred from the compressor and evaporates any condensation that has collected in the pan. Part of the remaining water is collected within the Refrigerator for humidity purposes.

Operating Noise

- To reach the desired temperature settings, the Refrigerator

Char-Broil Medallion 463641419 - Operating Noise - 1

  • Gurgling sound - caused by the refrigerant flowing through the appliance's coils.
  • Cracking/popping sounds - resulting from the contraction and expansion of the refrigerant gas to cool the appliance.
  • Fan operating sound - to circulate the air within the Refrigerator.

Shelf Instructions

  • Do not cover shelves with aluminum foil or any other material as this will impede air flow inside the cabinet and can adversely affect the interior cabinet temperature.
  • To remove a shelf, tilt one side up and pull the shelf outward.

  • Wash the exterior cabinet with warm water and mild liquid detergent. Rinse well and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.

Vacation Time

- Short vacations: Leave the Refrigerator operating during vacations of less than three weeks.

- Long vacations: If the appliance will not be used for several months, remove all items and turn off the appliance. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent odor and mold growth, leave the door open slightly: blocking it open if necessary.
