How to assemble the scraper beaters or dough hooks?

Insert the accessory with a collar into the opening on the right side, following the direction indicated under the appliance. The wire whisks do not have a collar and are interchangeable.

How to use the Boost function?

Press the scroll wheel while mixing for a momentary burst of power. The speed then goes to maximum.

How to pause without resetting the timer?

Press the PAUSE button. The timer stops but the setting is retained. Press again to resume.

How to clean the hand mixer?

Wipe the motor unit with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Never immerse it. The accessories (beaters, hooks, whisks) are dishwasher safe.

What to do if the motor stops during use?

This may be due to an overload. Unplug the appliance and let it cool for 10 to 20 minutes before trying again.

How to store the cord?

Wrap the cord around the handle using the notch provided for this purpose. The storage case stores accessories and the cord.

How to eject the beaters?

Pull the trigger loop located under the appliance. The beaters come off easily without mess.

Can I use an extension cord?

Yes, provided it has a power rating at least equal to the appliance, does not hang over the counter, and is equipped with a three-prong grounded plug.

How to choose the right speed?

Turn the scroll wheel: away from you to increase speed, toward you to decrease. To avoid splattering, first immerse the accessories in the ingredients before starting.

What to do if the plug does not fit the outlet?

The plug is polarized. If it does not insert, reverse it. If it still does not insert, contact an electrician. Never modify the plug.

• Remove and safely discard any packaging material, plastic power plug cover, and any removable labels before using appliance.

• Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or where it could touch any other source of heat. If the appliance is to be:

• left unattended

• cleaned
• moved
• assembled; or
• stored

• This hand mixer is fitted with an self-resetting internal overload to protect the Motor.
• If the motor stalls or stops, the Motor overload may have engaged. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool for 10-20 minutes.
• Avoid contact with moving parts. Remove attachments (beaters, dough hooks, whisks) from mixer before washing.
• Keep hair, clothing, utensils, hand and fingers away from rotating or moving parts.
• Only use attachments supplied by Breville for your specific unit. The use of attachments not sold or recommended by Breville may cause fire, electric shock or injury.

• Always ensure the proper attachments are fitted securely in place before turning ON and operating the unit.
- Flashing light indicates ready to operated. Avoid any contact with moveable parts.
- It is recommended to regularly inspect the appliance and power cord. Do not use the appliance if there is damage to the power cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any way. Immediately stop use and call Breville Consumer Support.
- Do not use in any type of moving vehicles. Do not use the appliance outdoors, or for anything other than its intended use. Household use only. Misuse can cause injury.

• Do not connect the appliance to an external switch or device (such as a timer, monitor or remote circuit) that can be switched on and off.
• If the appliance is to be: left unattended, cleaned, moved, assembled or stored, always switch the unit OFF and unplug the cord from the power outlet.
• This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

Your Breville appliance is fitted with a short power supply cord to reduce personal injury or property damage resulting from pulling, tripping or becoming entangled with a longer cord. If an extension cord is used, (1) the marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, (2) the cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally and (3) the extension cord must include a 3-prong grounding plug.

Assembly

• Before using your mixer for the first time, remove packaging material and promotional labels. Do this while the POWER is off, and the mixer is unplugged.
• The scraper beaters and dough hooks must be inserted into the correct side, and are not interchangeable. The graphics on the underside of the mixer shows you to put the attachment with the collar into the hole on the right-hand side.

• The balloon whisks do not have a collar, and therefore are interchangeable.

Functions

GETTING STARTED

• Plug in to the power outlet.
• Pressing the ON | OFF button once will put the mixer into standby mode. Press again to turn OFF.

SPEED CONTROL

• To avoid splattering, immerse the attachments into ingredients before gently rotating the scroll wheel to increase speed.
• To increase speed, rotate scroll wheel away from your hand.
• To decrease speed, rotate scroll wheel toward your hand.
- Turn off during any speed by pressing the ON | OFF button.

TURBO BOOST

- Push the scroll wheel for an extra boost of power while mixing. This will run the beaters at maximum speed.

PAUSE

• Pauses and holds the speed and timer while you prepare or add ingredients. Press again to resume.

TIMER

- For accurate control on recipes that require precise timing, the timer counts up as it mixes to 14 minutes, 59 seconds.

MIXING LIGHT

- The mixing light is always on when mixing to illuminate ingredients inside the bowl to see progress as it mixes.

BEATER IQ

• Mixer detect the type of beaters inserted, and automatically adjusts the speed range to work smarter no matter what you're mixing.
• When dough hooks are detected, the mixer adjusts speeds 1-9 to a lower range to maximize torque.
• When scraper beaters or balloon whisks are detected, the mixer automatically adjusts speeds 1-9 to offer a wider range of speeds to maximize speed at the upper end.

EJECT

- Pull up the trigger loop to eject beaters easily and mess free.

STORAGE CASE

- Contains all attachments with the mixer itself clipping in on top.

Care & Cleaning

For safety, eject attachments before cleaning.

MOTOR BASE

To clean the main mixer housing, wipe with a soft, damp cloth then dry thoroughly. Wipe any excess food particles from the power cord. Do not immerse.

CLEANING AGENTS

Do not use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners on main mixer housing, as they may scratch the surface. Use only a soft cloth, dampened with warm soapy water.

DISHWASHER

The scraper beaters, dough hooks and whisk attachments can be washed in the dishwasher on a standard wash cycle.

STORAGE

Always unplug the mixer from the power outlet before storage.

Cord can either be wrapped around the handle cut-out for storage, or stowed in the storage box with the attachments.
