Frequently Asked Questions - HWF40P Heller

How do I assemble the Heller HWF40P wall fan?
First, remove the locking nut from the motor housing. Place the back safety grille onto the locating lugs and secure with the locking nut. Align the blade groove with the motor shaft T-bar, then hand-tighten the spinner anticlockwise. Finally, attach the front safety grille using the locking clips and secure the bottom screw and nut.
How do I mount the fan on the wall?
Select a strong wall and drill two holes to fix the supplied wall plugs and screws. Mount the fan bracket onto the screws. Ensure the fan is at least 2.1 m above the floor and that the power cord does not obstruct blade rotation or oscillation.
How do I operate the fan?
Plug in the fan and switch on at the wall. Pull the first cord to turn the fan on; it starts at Low speed. Pull again to cycle through Medium and High. Pull the second cord to enable oscillation. To stop, pull the first cord repeatedly until the fan switches off.
How should I clean the fan?
Always unplug the fan before cleaning. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth. To clean the blades and grille, remove the front grille, unscrew the locknut, take off the blade, and wipe with a slightly damp sponge. Never use flammable or abrasive cleaners or immerse the fan in water.
What safety precautions should I take when using this fan?
Ensure the fan is used on a stable wall and at the correct voltage. Do not use with a solid-state speed control, extension cord, or timer. Keep the fan away from water, and do not insert objects through the grille. Always supervise children near the fan and unplug when not in use.
What should I do if the fan does not work?
Check that the power cord is fully uncoiled and plugged into a working outlet. Ensure the wall switch is on. If the fan still doesn't work, inspect the pull cord connections or contact a qualified technician. Do not attempt to repair the cord yourself.
Can I use the fan outdoors?
No, this fan is for indoor use only. Do not use in bathrooms, laundry areas, or near water. Exposure to rain or moisture can cause electric shock.
How to adjust the tilt of the fan?
The fan has a tilt adjustable head. Loosen the tilt adjustment knob (if present) or gently tilt the fan head to the desired angle, then tighten. Always switch off the fan before making adjustments.
Can I use an extension cord with this fan?
No, do not use an extension cord. The manual warns against extension cords, double adaptors, or power boards as they may overheat and cause a fire. Plug the fan directly into a wall outlet.
What are the speed settings?
The fan has three speeds: Low (1), Medium (2), and High (3). Use the pull cord to cycle through the speeds. The fan starts at Low when first turned on.
