Frequently Asked Questions - JCAV003430 Jocel

How do I set the temperature on my Jocel JCAV003430 wine cooler?
Use the + and - buttons on the digital control panel to adjust the temperature by 1°C or 1°F increments. Press the °C/°F button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit. The set temperature range is 6°C to 14°C (43°F to 57°F).
Can I reverse the door on my wine cooler?
Yes, the door hinge is reversible. You will need a #2 cross-head screwdriver (not supplied). Follow the detailed instructions in the manual: remove hinges, covers, and screws, then reinstall on the opposite side. After reversal, ensure the door is level and the gasket seals properly. Allow the appliance to stand upright for 6 hours before plugging in after reversal.
How do I clean the wine cooler?
Unplug the appliance first. Clean the interior with a soft cloth and a solution of 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda per liter of water, or a mild detergent. Wash removable shelves in mild detergent, then dry. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid ammonia or alcohol-based cleaners, as they can damage the finish.
What type of light does the wine cooler use and how do I replace it?
It uses a white LED light strip. To replace it, contact customer service for a replacement. Remove the two screws holding the light control box, then remove the light cover and strip. Handle with care to avoid damage.
Does the wine cooler need manual defrosting?
No, the appliance features automatic defrost. Defrost water is channeled to a drip tray above the compressor, where it evaporates due to the compressor's heat. No manual defrosting is required.
What should I do during a power failure?
Most power failures last only a few hours and will not affect the temperature if you minimize door openings. If the outage is longer, take steps to protect your wine. Wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the appliance after power is restored.
How should I move the wine cooler?
Empty the appliance, secure the door with tape, adjust the levelling foot up to avoid damage, and wrap the exterior with a blanket. Keep it upright during transport. If laid on its back or side, let it stand upright for 6 hours before plugging in.
How do I dispose of my old wine cooler?
Do not dispose of it as regular household waste. Take it to a designated collection point for recycling of electrical components. Contact your local waste disposal agency for information.
What are the common troubleshooting steps if the wine cooler is not cooling?
Check that the appliance is plugged in, the circuit breaker is not tripped, and the temperature setting is correct. Ensure the door is closed properly, the exhaust vent is not obstructed, and the ambient temperature is not extreme. Allow 12.7 cm clearance around the appliance.
What is the warranty coverage for the Jocel wine cooler?
The warranty covers parts replacement due to manufacturing defects when used according to the manual. It does not cover damage from transport, misuse, improper installation, or unauthorized repairs. Warranty is valid only with the purchase invoice. For service, contact assistencia@jocel.pt or +351 252 910 351.
