Frequently Asked Questions - EGS2003 ELECTROLUX

What type of water should I use in the Electrolux EGS2003 steamer?
Use tap water. For better results, you may mix 50% distilled water with 50% tap water. Never use scented water, vinegar, or ironing aids as they can cause staining and damage.
How do I clean the steamer after use?
Press the switch to turn off, unplug, and let cool for 30 minutes. Remove the water tank and drain remaining water. Open the drain valve to fully drain the heating body, then wipe dry. Perform a rinsing cycle after every 5 uses by filling water through the steam inlet seat for 1 minute, then drain.
How often should I descale the steamer?
Descaling should be done monthly or if the steam volume decreases significantly. Use a descaler like MUD5F from Menalux. Mix with water, fill tank, soak for 1-2 hours (max 8 hours), then rinse thoroughly.
What accessories come with the EGS2003?
The steamer includes a brush, static brush, line clip, trousers rack, extra garment clip, and a protective glove.
Why is no steam coming out even though the power light is on?
The water level may be too low; fill the water tank. If the problem persists, the steam hose may be blocked by scales - descale the unit.
Can I use the steamer horizontally?
No, you should always move the steamer vertically to avoid hot condensate dripping from the nozzle. Place the product flat during operation but move vertically.
How do I assemble the clothes rack?
Take out the support frame and clothes rack, press down to install, then lift to lock. Press the clothes rack button to unfold and fold. Insert the support into the hole and rotate the locking ring to lock.
Is the steamer safe for all fabrics?
Yes, the garment steamer is suitable for most fabrics. Always steam from top to bottom and do not release steam towards people or animals. Use the brush accessory for delicate fabrics.
What should I do if the steam hose leaks?
Check if the joint is loose; tighten it. Also inspect the nozzle for cracks. If the hose is bent, straighten it and lift the nozzle up.
How do I drain the water after use?
Turn off and unplug. Let cool. Remove the water tank and empty it. Open the drain valve on the main unit to empty the heating body. Close valve and wipe.
