Thank you for purchasing Fakir Cafe Prestige Coffe Maker which has been designed and manufactured to give you many years of trouble-free service. You may already be familiar with using a similar product, but do please take time to read these instructions. They have been written to ensure you get the very best from your purchase.

Important Safety Notes
- Please read these instructions carefully before using that coffee maker.
- Check that the meaqns voltage corresponds with the rating of the appliance before operating.
- Never immerse the coffee maker in water or any other liquid.
- Let the appliance cool down before cleaning.
- Do not unplug the coffee maker by pulling the cable cord.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by you near children or infirm persons.
- Improper use of coffee maker may result in serious scald.
- Do not touch the exterior of the jar, except the insulated handle, as it will
be very hot
- Never place the coffee maker on a hot surface.
- Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance has been damaged in any manner. If the supply cord or appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or let it come into contact with any hot surfaces.
- Do not use this product for anything other than its intended use. This appliance is for household use only.
- No liability can be accepted for any damage caused by non-compliance with these instructions or any other improper use or mishandling.
- Do not use accessories other than provided with this appliance in order to avoid damagin the coffee maker.
- Do not use outdoors.
- The jar is to be used with the coffee maker only. Do not put it on a stove or re-heat the coffee or put into a microwave oven.
- Do not put the jar on a cold or wet surface when it is hot.
- Do not use the jar when it is cracked or when the handle is weak or damaged.
- Ensure that the fitler has cooled down before removing it for cleaning.
- Do not fill the water container with anything except cold water and descaler when cleaning.
- Do not move the coffee maker when the jar is filled with hot liquid.
- Do not switch on the coffee maker when the jar is removed.
Prior to First Use
- Remove all packing materials from the
inside and outside of the coffee maker.
How to Use
- Open the top cover
- Pour water into the water tank to desired volume or cups.
- Put the permanent filter into the filter holder.
- Pour coffee powder into the filter.
- Plug the coffee maker into the wall socket and pres the “ON/OFF” switch to the ON position. The indicator on light will then be illuminated and coffee will start brewing.
- When the coffee has finished brewing switch off the coffee maker.
- To keep the coffee warm on the hotplate leave the coffee maker switched on.
Cleaning
- It is extremely important to remember that cleaning of the coffee maker can only be performed when the plug has been removed from the supply.
- Cleaning should be performed when the coffee maker has cooled down.
- Always ensure the electrical connections of the coffee maker remain absolutely dry.
- Clean the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Do not use cleaning products, which can cause health hazard or discoloration of the coffee maker.
- Ensure the outside and the electrical connection parts of the coffee maker are completely dry before using.
De-scaling
- It is important to de-scale the coffee maker at regular intervals in order to maintain its efficiency.
- The frequency of de-scaling will depend upon the area in which you live.
- There are many de-scaling powders and tablets available in supermarkets
& hardware stores.
- To descale the coffee maker pour the descaler and water into the water container.
- Start the coffee maker without coffee leave the equivalent of one cup of water to flow into the jar, then switch off the machine.
- Leave the descaling solution to descale for 1 hour.
- Switch the appliance on again to process the remaining solution.
- Rinse the coffee maker by running the machine two or three times with cold water only.
