Frequently Asked Questions - Soluna 150 RGB ROLLEI

How do I connect the Soluna 150 RGB to the Rollei Studio app?

Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone and on the light (Menu > Wireless settings > Bluetooth On). Open the Rollei Studio app; the connection is automatic via Bluetooth Low Energy. Ensure location permission is granted for the app.

Can the Soluna 150 RGB be used with a battery?

Yes, via the optional Soluna V-Mount battery adapter (not included). Connect the adapter cable to the power socket and use a V-Mount battery for portable operation.

What is CCT mode and how do I adjust color temperature?

CCT mode allows adjustment of color temperature from 2,000K to 7,500K. Press the CCT mode button, then press the function knob to select the value (turns green), rotate to adjust, press to confirm. You can also adjust G/M (magenta/green) shift.

How many preset light effects are available and how do I access them?

There are 19 preset light effects (e.g., TV, Fire, Storm, Police). Press the light effect knob to cycle through effects, then use the function knob to adjust frequency (1-10). Press the pause/replay button to stop/restart.

What is the beam angle and can I change it?

The native beam angle is >120° without reflector. Use the included 70° reflector to narrow the beam. Additionally, the zoom control allows adjusting the light head position to further modify the beam spread.

Is the Soluna 150 RGB suitable for video recording?

Yes, with a high CRI >97 and TLCI >98, it provides excellent color accuracy for video. The fan can be set to low or off to reduce noise (but output limited to 30% when fan off).

How do I reset the Bluetooth connection?

Go to Menu > Wireless settings, select Bluetooth Reset, turn the function knob to confirm. Then re-pair with your smartphone via the Rollei Studio app.

What is the maximum power output and how is it controlled?

Maximum power is 150W. Power can be adjusted from 0 to 100% in 1% steps using the function knob in any mode.

Can I use the light with a standard light stand?

Yes, it has a tripod mount and a U-bracket with locking button. It also includes an umbrella holder for additional modifier support.

What safety precautions should I take?

Do not shine directly into eyes. Ensure adequate ventilation, do not cover vents. Use only indoors (dry). Disconnect from power when not in use. Keep away from children. Not for room lighting.

Illuminance Measurement

The measurement of unconcentrated light is standard without reflectors, the linear distance from the LED light source to the illuminance meter is 1 meter.

When the angle of incidence of the reflector becomes smaller and its depth deeper, the light is bundled. The centre of the light is very bright, the surrounding glow appears dimmed. The light ratio contrast thus becomes greater and the light at the corresponding centre of the measurement is dimmed. The illuminance increases.

Function Description

Switching on / off

1. AC power: Insert the plug of the power adapter into the power socket [9] and connect the unit to the mains, press and hold the on/off switch [15] for 1.5 seconds to switch on the unit.

2. Optional battery operation*: The Soluna 150 RGB can optionally be operated via the Soluna V-Mount battery adapter. To do this, plug one end of the cable into the battery adapter and the other end into the mains socket [9] and press and hold the on/off switch [15] for 1.5 seconds to start the unit.

Function Description

CCT mode

Briefly press the CCT mode button [14] to enter CCT mode. Now briefly press the function knob [13], the selected value now lights up green. When the symbol lights up green, you can adjust the setting value with the function knob [13] and confirm by pressing the function knob [13] afterwards.

• CCT colour temperature mode: 2,000K-7,500 K
• G/M Magenta/Green: ±0.5

HSI: Full colour mode

Briefly press the HSI mode button [12] to enter HSI mode, briefly press the function knob [13] and the selected value will now light up green. When the symbol lights up green, you can set the setting value with the function knob [13] and confirm it by pressing the function knob [13] afterwards.

• HSI full colour mode: 0–359
• SAT saturation: 0–100

Custom Light Effects

Briefly press the custom light effect mode button [11] to enter the custom light effect mode. Now the selected value lights green. When the symbol lights up green you can adjust the setting value with the function knob [13] and confirm by pressing the function knob [13] afterwards.

Menu Settings

Briefly press the menu button [6] to enter the settings menu. Now briefly press the function button [13] and the symbol of the value display flashes green. When the desired symbol turns green, set the value with the function knob [13] and press briefly to confirm the setting.

Function Description

Light effect mode

Briefly press the light effect knob [7] to enter light effect mode and alternately switch on different light effect modes. Briefly press the function knob [13] and the selected value now lights up green. When the symbol turns green, set the value with the function knob [13] and press it briefly to confirm.

There are 19 preset light effects, adjustable in a frequency of 1-10. Press the light effect pause / - playback button [8] to pause or to continue playing the light effect.

Download the "Rollei Studio" app for iOS from the App Store or the „Studio" app from the Amazon App Store for Android (iOS 9.0 or higher, Android 5.0 or higher).

Connection with the smartphone

1. Activate Bluetooth®* on your smartphone.
2. Switch on the Rollei Soluna 150 RGB and activate Bluetooth®* in the settings menu.
3. Open the "Rollei Studio" app, the connection with the smartphone will be established automatically.

Note: If you want to connect the LED light with the app on another smartphone, go to the menu to reset the Bluetooth®* signal.

- The connection is established using "Bluetooth®* Low Energy" (BLE). A location release of the app is necessary for this. The connection to the LED light is established directly in the app.

Note: If a different smartphone than before is to be used to use the permanent light, the connection to the previous smartphone must first be interrupted and the permanent light must be deleted from the settings in the app on the previous smartphone.

Zoom Control

Adjust the Zoom LED button [10] and adjust the position of the LED light head. The zoom light head can improve the light and shadow levels and the expression of details.
