Frequently Asked Questions - KSAF 616 EB Kernau

Can I use oil in this air fryer?
No, this appliance uses hot air circulation for frying. Adding oil can cause a fire hazard. Use only dry ingredients or a minimal spray of oil for crisping.
How do I preheat the air fryer?
Press the Preheat button. The drawer will preheat for 3 minutes at 200 °C. When complete, 'READY' appears on the display and you can start cooking.
Can I wash the basket and drawer in the dishwasher?
Yes, the basket and drawer are dishwasher safe. However, avoid abrasive detergents. Hand washing with warm soapy water is also recommended to preserve the non-stick coating.
What does the 'Shake' function do?
The Shake function triggers an alert halfway through cooking to remind you to shake or turn the food for even browning. It is enabled by default for Potatoes, Vegetables, and Fish programs.
How do I set a delayed start?
Select an automatic program, press Delay Start, adjust the delay time (10-900 minutes) using the +/- buttons, then press Start/Pause. The fryer will begin cooking after the set delay.
What should I do if the display shows 'E4'?
'E4' indicates overheating protection has activated because the internal temperature exceeded 300 °C. Unplug the appliance, let it cool completely, and ensure vents are not blocked before restarting.
