Frequently Asked Questions - Challenger SE(2014) Swift

What is the maximum towing weight for the Swift Challenger SE (2014)?
The MTPLM is 1500 kg. Ensure your tow vehicle is capable of towing at least this weight, and check the maximum nose weight (typically 100 kg).
How do I level the caravan when parked?
Use the Al-Ko corner steady legs with a spirit level. Place ramps under the wheels on the lower side, then wind down the steadies. Always use a level indicator on the floor.
How do I operate the water system?
Fill the internal tank or connect an external Aqua Roll. Use the Whale pump (submersible or inboard). Prime the system by turning on taps until water flows. Drain down in winter to prevent frost damage.
How do I use the gas system safely?
Ensure gas cylinders are secured upright in the locker. Open the cylinder valve slowly. Check all gas appliance controls are off before turning on. Use a gas leak detector and test with soapy water.
What electrical hook-up do I need?
The caravan uses a standard 16A blue plug (Type 2). Connect to a mains supply via a surge-protected hook-up cable. The onboard charger will also charge the leisure battery.
How do I maintain the caravan in winter?
Drain all water tanks and pipes fully. Remove the water filter. Open taps to release pressure. Use antifreeze in toilet flush and traps. Leave cupboard doors open for air circulation.
What is the correct tyre pressure for my caravan?
Check the tyre placard (usually inside a cupboard or near the door) or the Swift manual. Typical pressures for 185/70 R14 tyres are around 65 psi (4.5 bar) for the axle load.
How do I replace a blown fuse?
Locate the 12V fuse box (often under the front seat or in a cupboard). Identify the blown fuse by visual inspection. Replace with the same rating (e.g., 10A or 15A). Never use a higher amp fuse.
What should I do if the toilet won't flush?
Check the flush water tank is filled and the pump is running. The Thetford C250 has a small electric pump; clean the filter if blocked. Ensure the cassette is correctly inserted.
Where can I get spare parts or service my caravan?
Contact an authorized Swift dealer or use online parts catalogues. For service, book at a NCC-approved workshop. Always quote the VIN number for accurate parts.

Weights: The method of calculating the Waste in Burning Order (MRC) and more pay-out figures has changed in order to bring it in line with European Vehicle Directives.
Advances for essential equipment (e.g. gas cylinders previously allowed for in the user payed are now contained within the MFG. A provider for a ensure facility which used to be within the essential
equipment payned has now been included within the personal effects payment allowance. Although the method of calculation has changed, the overall effect is that the amount of payned available to the customer has remained the same, it is and calculated in a different manner.
Bed Sizes: Please note that the front double back sizes quoted are for sealing configurations without chest of drawers. The front double bed width for a layout with a chest of drawers filled will be receded by 0.4m(1.4") from that slot.
Awing sizes: Due to varying seating designs and sizes the seating sizes given are approximately only. Specific seating sizes must be confirmed by your order or starting manufacturer prior to purchase.
* The time is one year are approximate due to slight variations in suspension rule heights, leading conditions and eye pressures. Customers should verify the actual dimensions of their current tension before controlling it anything that could be impacted by these dimensions.
Please note: Any dealer fit options will reduce the overall payment allowance to be used at the customer. If you require additional payload it is possible to upgrade the MTFM to the upper limit. Please contact your SaaS customer dealer for more information.

Bulb replacement

T5D / T6D CHALLENGER / ECCLES / CONQUEROR / ELITE ROAD LIGHT BULB ACCESS

REAR LIGHT CLUSTERS (CONTAINING INDICATOR, TAIL / STOP, REVERSE AND FOG LAMPS)

All of the bulbs within the clusters are accessed from the rear of the cluster.

To remove the cluster, release the four screws that can be seen around the perimeter of the lense of the lamp. The whole lamp can then be withdrawn from the rear of the caravan.

The relevant bulb holder can now, from the rear of the lamp, be twisted relative to the body of the lamp to release it.

The bulbs are then a bayonet fitting into the bulb holder - push the bulb lightly toward the holder, and twist, to release.

Please take additional care replacing stop/tail light in correct orientation. When fitted correctly brake light illumination will be brighter than tail lamp illumination.

Re-fit the bulb holder into the lamp body.

FRONT LOW LEVEL MARKER / POSITION LAMPS (CLEAR LENSE)

These lamps are LED and have no user serviceable parts inside.

Replacements should be undertaken by your dealer, as the lamps are sealed onto the mounting panel.

This lamp is single piece and has no user serviceable parts inside.

Replacements should be undertaken by your dealer, as the lamps are sealed onto the mounting panel.

NUMBER PLATE LAMPS

Bulb access is from via the front lense of each lamp.

Remove the two screws in the lens of the lamp, and remove.

Lever the bulb out of retaining clips.

Reverse the procedure to re-fit a new bulb and the light lens.

Bulb access is from rear of lamp.

If rear of lamp is visible from inside the caravan;

- Depending on the location, a small brown plastic cover may be present covering the connections to the lamp. Remove the screws in the cover to release and access the rear of the lamp.

- The harness plugs directly into the bulb holder - twist the bulb holder relative to the lamp body to release, and withdraw the bulb holder and bulb.

- Bulbs are push fit into bulb holder - pull bulb directly away from holder to release

- Reverse the procedure to replace the bulb in the holder, holder in the lamp and the lamp onto the caravan body. Replace plastic cover.

If rear of lamp is not visible from inside the caravan:

- Remove the 2 screws from the front of the light fitting, and withdraw the whole fitting from the caravan body
