INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Before using the product for the first time, make sure that there is no apparent damage to any of the parts. If the device is damaged, please contact our aftersales service or one of the authorized distributors.
Remove the product from its original packaging taking special care not to damage any of its parts. Do not use excessive force to remove the product from the box.
Before taking any measurements, the thermometer should be in place where the measurement is to be taken for at least 30 minutes. This prevents temperature changes in the components of the product from affecting the result.
This product performs temperature measurement in direct mode.
Regular body temperature values:
The IT-122-contactless thermometer allows the taking of temperature of different types of objects such as the body temperature of a person. Body temperature varies in each individual due to various factors such as sex, age, skin type, time of day, regular level of physical activity or diet.
Take a reading:
Follow the instructions that are presented below in order to take a reading:
-
Place on the surface of whatever you wish to know the temperature and take a reading by pulling the trigger of the gun (1). If it is a body temperature it is recommended to take the temperature by directly applying it to the forehead from a distance of between 5 and 8cm. Make sure that there are no elements that can influence the incorrect reading of the temperature (sweat, hai r, make-up, piercings or other objects).
-
Read the value of the reading given by the thermometer. Make sure that the reading mode indicated is correct (3). If the temperature of an body has been taken Body temp, should appear and if on the contrary an object temperature has been taken Body temp. should not appear. In the case that the correct mode is not indicated, it should be changed by pressing the Mode key (8) and the reading taken again.
Repeat the reading if you do not trust the validity of the reading values. In the event that you believe that the results are not correct, take the appliance to a Technical Support Service. This product cannot be calibrated by the user.
The product will automatically turn off after a few seconds without pressing the keys.
Replacing the batteries:
Open the cover of the compartment located on the handle of the thermometer and insert two AAA batteries. Close the cover once the battery has been introduced. Carry out this task when the battery has run out or when the low battery symbol appears on the LCD screen (11).
Error messages:
When you take a temperature reading using this thermometer one of two error messages shown below may appear:
“Hi” (High) indicates that the average value surpasses the maximum value of

the range of readings. If the Body Temp mode is selected it indicates that the temperature is higher than 42.9irc C. Otherwise, if
Surface/object mode is selected the device is indicating that the temperature is higher than 100irc C.

“Lu” (Low) indicates that the average value is lower than the maximum value of the range of readings. If the Body Temp mode is selected it indicates that the temperature is lower than 32irc C.
Otherwise, if Surface/object mode is selected the device is indicating that the temperature is higher than 0irc C.
Occasionally the surface temperature that is being measured is not really found outside the range of temperatures but the thermometer interprets it as such and one of the above error messages is shown. Below some of the reasons for this and how to solve them are shown:
| CAUSE SOLUTION | |
| Too much distance between the thermometer and the surface. | Take the reading again respecting the reading distance (5-8cm). |
| There has been a sudden change in temperature on the thermometer. | Leave the thermometer in the room where the reading is to be taken for around 30 minutes so it can acclimatise and take the temperature again. |
ENGLISH
| The temperature has been taken on a bright surface. | The reading of polished or shiny surfaces cannot be taken with the infrared thermometer. Take the temperature using other means. |
| When taking the body temperature sweat, hairs, piercings or any other element that can distort the thermometer reading is detected. | Remove any possible element from the area that can cause an incorrect reading of thermometer and take the reading again. |
| The lens has become dirty | Carefully clean the lens |
In case of doubt in the use, maintenance, configuration or device malfunction, contact an authorized service centre or contact us via the web www.ufesa.es
