Frequently Asked Questions - DEEBOT Y1 Plus ECOVACS

How do I connect the DEEBOT Y1 Plus to the ECOVACS HOME App?
Ensure the robot is fully charged and turned on. Download the ECOVACS HOME App from the App Store or Google Play. Make sure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz or 2.4/5GHz mixed, not on a VPN or hidden network. Press and hold the Charging Button and Spot Cleaning Button simultaneously for 3 seconds until a voice prompt indicates configuration mode. Follow the app instructions to complete the connection.
How do I start mopping with the DEEBOT Y1 Plus?
First, fill the 2-in-1 Module's reservoir with water through the filling opening. Attach the washable mopping pad to the mopping pad plate and install it onto the robot until it clicks. Then short press the START button to begin mopping. Note: Do not frequently remove the mopping pad while in use.
How often should I maintain the robot?
Refer to the maintenance frequency table in the manual: washable mopping pad should be cleaned after each use and replaced every 1-2 months; dust bag replacement follows app reminders; side brush maintenance every 2 weeks and replacement every 3-6 months; main brush maintenance weekly and replacement every 6-12 months; filter maintenance weekly and replacement every 3-6 months; TrueMapping sensor, universal wheel, anti-drop sensors, bumper, and charging contacts should be wiped weekly.
What should I do if the robot cannot return to the Auto-Empty Station?
Ensure the Auto-Empty Station is placed correctly against a wall on a flat surface with at least 0.5m clearance on sides and 1.5m in front. Verify the station is powered on and not moved. The robot should start cleaning from the station. Keep the charging route clear of obstacles. If the issue persists, clean the charging contacts on both the robot and station.
How do I reset the robot to factory settings?
Long press the Charging Button for 10-15 seconds until you hear a voice prompt indicating a factory reset. This will restore default settings and clear any custom maps.
The robot makes an abnormal noise during cleaning. What could be the cause?
Common causes include side brush or main brush entanglement with hair or debris, or a blocked dust box or filter. Clean the brushes, dust box, and filter regularly. If the noise persists, check for foreign objects in the wheels or suction intake. Also ensure the robot is not in max mode; switch to standard mode if needed.
How do I activate Child Lock on the DEEBOT Y1 Plus?
Long press the Spot Cleaning Button until you hear a voice prompt confirming Child Lock is enabled. In this mode, all buttons and smart speaker commands are disabled to prevent accidental operation by children. To disable, long press the same button again.
What should I do if the battery is over-discharged and the robot won't charge?
If the robot has not been used for a long time, the battery may over-discharge. Try charging the robot by placing it on the Auto-Empty Station. If it still does not charge, contact ECOVACS customer service for assistance. Do not attempt to disassemble the battery yourself.
Can I use the robot on thick carpets?
Yes, the robot is equipped with a carpet detection sensor. When it detects a carpet via ultrasonic waves, it can increase suction power automatically (if set in the app). However, ensure rug fringe is tucked under and the robot can climb the carpet edge. For very thick carpets, performance may vary.
How do I replace the dust bag in the Auto-Empty Station?
Open the top cover of the Auto-Empty Station. Hold the handle of the dust bag and lift it out to avoid dust leakage. Discard the old bag according to local regulations. Insert a new dust bag until it clicks into place, then close the cover. The app will remind you when replacement is needed.

1.3 Sensors

Name Functional Description
TrueMapping Distance SensorWith Laser Ranging-measuring the distance between Robot and surroundings through the time difference of reflection, it can map according to the objects around while Robotis moving. Detection of 8m.
Anti-drop SensorWith Infrared Ranging detecting the distance between the bottom of Robot and ground by Infrared Sensor at the bottom, Robot will not move formard when there are stairs in front (For example: White ground height greater than 30mm.) or the identified distance exceeds the preset one, realizing the Anti-drop.
Carpet Detection SensorThe ultrasound probe can emit ultrasonic waves with a frequency of 300KHZ. The energy of the ultrasonic waves is absorbed by the carpet. If the reflected energy is below the threshold, the Robot recognizes the presence of the carpet.
Anti-collision SensorWhen the transmitted signal is blocked by an obstacle, the signal receiver will not be able to receive the signal. With this principle, the device will avoid obstacles when colliding with them.
