Frequently Asked Questions - PL068 Aim TTi

How do I set the voltage span (Vmin/Vmax) on the PL068?
Press and hold the VOLTAGE SPAN button until Vmin appears. Use the coarse control to set the minimum voltage, then press the same button again to set Vmax. Confirm by pressing SET or CANCEL to exit.
What is the difference between the high and low current ranges?
The PL068 has two current ranges: High range (1mA to 8000mA) and Low range (0.1mA to 800mA). Press the LOW I RANGE button to toggle. The low range provides better resolution (0.1mA) and lower noise for sensitive loads.
How do I use the Settings Lock (S-Lock) feature?
Press the LOCK button once to lock the current voltage and current settings. The lock accuracy equals the meter accuracy. To unlock, press and hold the LOCK button until the lock indicator turns off.
Can I use remote sense with the PL068?
Yes, the PL068 has screwless sense terminals on the front panel. Connect sense wires to the load to compensate for voltage drops in the output leads. Ensure sense lead resistance is less than 0.5Ω for best regulation.
What does the 'CC' indicator mean?
The CC (Constant Current) indicator lights up when the power supply is operating in constant current mode, meaning the output current is at the set limit and the voltage is automatically reduced to maintain that current.
How do I calibrate the PL068?
Calibration should be performed by a qualified technician. Refer to the service manual. The accuracy specifications are given for a temperature range of 18°C to 28°C after a 1-hour warm-up with no load.
What is the maximum output current in the low range?
In the low current range, the maximum output current is 800mA. The high range goes up to 8000mA (8A).
How do I protect my device from over-voltage or over-current?
The PL068 has built-in protection: it can withstand forward voltages up to 20V above rated output (10V on the 6V output). For over-temperature, the output trips off automatically. For manual operation, OVP and OCP are fixed at 105% of the instrument range maximum.
What is the warm-up time required before accurate measurements?
Allow a 1-hour warm-up with no load before relying on accuracy specifications. The power supply should be at a stable temperature (18°C to 28°C) for full rated accuracy.
How do I clean the PL068?
Disconnect the AC power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use any liquids or solvents. Ensure the ventilation slots are free of dust.

ADDITIONAL SPECIFICATIONS - PL303QMD/PL303QMT QUAD-MODE DUAL Section

Independent Mode:Each output is fully independent and isolated. Operation is equivalent to two single power supplies.
Tracking Mode:The two outputs remain isolated but the Slave voltage controls are disabled and the Slave voltage is set equal to the Master voltage.
Tracking Accuracy:Slave voltage = Master voltage ±(0.1% of Master voltage ±10mV).
Ratio (%) Tracking Mode:As tracking but the Slave voltage controls set an output voltage between 0% and 101% of the Master voltage. Once set, varying the Master voltage will create the same percentage change in the Slave voltage setting.
Tracking Accuracy:% change in Slave voltage = % change of Master voltage ± 0.1% ±10mV.
Parallel Mode:The Master output operates as a single output power supply with twice the current capability (0.2mA to 6A). The Slave is disabled (and its displays are turned off).
Both On / Both Off:Each output has an independent DC On/Off control; these additional keys can be used to turn both outputs on or off simultaneously. These keys operate in all four modes.
