Frequently Asked Questions - BCPL22M1 Be Cool

How do I register my first fingerprint?
Press your finger on the sensor and hold until the blue light turns on. Then press the same finger about 10 times in different positions until the green light appears. This registers the first fingerprint.
How do I add more fingerprints?
Unlock the lock with a registered fingerprint and keep your finger on the sensor until the blue light turns on. Then press a new finger multiple times until the blue light turns off.
How do I set or change the emergency Morse code?
Unlock the lock with a fingerprint and do not release until the white light flashes. Release, then press the sensor once per number for the first digit (e.g., 2 presses for digit 2). Wait for blue light, then enter the second digit similarly. The code is now set. Default code is 33.
How do I unlock using the emergency Morse code?
Press any finger on the lock until the white light appears, then release. The light turns green. Enter the first digit by pressing the sensor the number of times equal to the digit, wait for blue light, then enter the second digit. Successful entry unlocks the lock.
How do I reset the lock to factory settings?
Unlock the lock with a registered fingerprint, then keep your finger on the sensor until the red light turns on. Release, and all fingerprints and emergency code are deleted. The lock returns to factory state.
What if my fingerprint is not recognized?
Ensure your finger and the sensor are clean, dry, and grease-free. If the finger is injured or worn, try another registered finger. You can also use the emergency Morse code. If issues persist, the lock may need charging.
How do I charge the lock?
Use the supplied Micro USB cable to connect the lock to a USB power source (e.g., computer, 5V charger). Charging time is about 2 hours. The lock can be used while charging if needed.
How long does the battery last?
The battery can last up to 6 months on standby. Frequent use and repeated unlocking may reduce this. It is recommended to recharge the lock every few months to maintain battery health.
Is the lock waterproof?
The lock has an IP56 rating, meaning it is resistant to dust and strong water jets. It is suitable for indoor and protected outdoor use but must not be submerged in water or exposed to heavy rain or saltwater, which can damage the electronics.
What should I do if the lock gets wet or damaged?
Dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth. Do not use heat. If the lock malfunctions, contact Be Cool customer service or an authorized workshop. Do not attempt to open the casing yourself, as it may void the warranty.

Fingerprint registration

Before you have registered a fingerprint, the lock can be opened with any fingerprint.

  1. Press your finger against the sensor to register it as a fingerprint. Do not release it until the blue light is on.
  2. Now press the finger against the sensor in about 10 different positions. If the position is too similar, this is indicated by the red light. Continue changing the finger positions until the green light is illuminated.
  3. Once the first fingerprint is registered, you can add more using the following procedure.

Register additional fingerprints

  1. Unlock the lock with an already registered fingerprint. Hold your finger on the sensor until the blue light illuminates.
  2. Select a new finger and press the sensor several times as in "Fingerprint enrollment step 2" until the blue light turns off. The attempt will automatically fail if a timeout occurs. In this case, you must repeat the above steps.

Setting the emergency code (Morse code)

  1. To set an emergency code for your lock, unlock it and do not release your finger until the white light flashes. When you release your finger, the light will turn green.
  2. When the green light is on, you can start entering the first number of your 2-digit long code. Set the number by pressing the sensor once for each number step. For example, if you press the sensor twice, the number 2 will be entered. After entering the number, wait until the light changes to blue.
  3. At the blue light, use the same finger to set the second number. After you have entered the desired number, wait until the blue light goes out.
  4. You have now set your two-digit emergency code.

Unlocking by means of the emergency unlocking code (Morse code)

  1. If you cannot open the lock with your fingerprint, press on the lock with any finger until the white light is displayed. Then release your finger. The light turns green.
  2. You can now enter the first digit of the emergency unlocking code. After entering the first digit, the light changes to blue. You can now enter your second number.

If you enter an incorrect number, the light flashes red. In this case, repeat the above steps to enter the correct code. After unlocking the lock with the emergency code, the lock is reset to the factory settings.

  1. If you do not set a code, the default code is 33 (press green light 3 times, press blue light 3 times).

Restore factory settings

  1. To reset the lock to factory settings, hold your finger on the sensor after unlocking until the red light is on.
  2. As soon as the red light is on, all fingerprints and changed emergency code settings are deleted. The lock is now reset to the factory settings.
