Connect the power adapter to the DC 20V port, then connect your keyboard and mouse to the USB-A keyboard/data port and other peripherals to the data ports. Connect up to two DisplayPort monitors. Power on the dock and connect each computer to a USB-C host port using the included cables. Install drivers if needed from StarTech.com support page.
How do I switch between computers?
You can switch by double-pressing the left Shift key on the keyboard connected to the USB-A keyboard/data port (default hotkey). Alternatively, use the StarTech.com Link application: right-click the system tray icon (Windows) or click the Dock icon (macOS), select Control > Switch UFP.
Can I use the KVM Dock without installing the application?
Yes, basic KVM switching (hotkey) and peripheral sharing work without the app. However, advanced features like cursor edge scrolling, customizable hotkeys, and KM Master require the StarTech.com Link application on at least one computer.
How do I enable cursor edge scrolling between computers?
Install the StarTech.com Link app on both computers. Right-click the app icon (Windows) or click the Dock icon (macOS), select your laptop's position relative to the external displays (Left, Right, Top, Down). Then move the mouse cursor to the edge of the screen to transition to the other computer.

KM Master allows cursor/keyboard edge scrolling from a computer with the app installed to a computer without the app. Enable it in Advanced Settings by checking the KM Master box. To return control to the app computer, press Left Alt + Left Shift simultaneously.
Does the dock support macOS?
Yes, the StarTech.com 129N-USBC-KVM-DOCK supports both Windows and macOS. The StarTech.com Link application is available for both operating systems. Follow the macOS installation instructions in the manual.
What should I do if the application shows a gray icon?
A gray icon indicates the app is running but not connected to the other computer. Ensure the app is installed and launched on both computers, and that they are on the same network. If the issue persists, check for software version mismatch or firewall settings.
Can I connect more than two monitors?
No, the KVM Dock has two DisplayPort video ports, supporting up to two monitors. For more displays, you may need additional adapters or a different docking station.
