3) Plug in the plug, switch on the iron

on/off switch (3) and the boiler switch (2), checking that they light up when pressed down (Fig. 3).

4) Wait for the Generator on/off

switch (2) to go out (about 8 minutes). Push button (8) on the iron to release bursts of steam from the holes on the soleplate. Release the button and the steam will stop. Push button (9) for a continuous jet of steam, which will continue even after button (9) has been released. To stop the steam press 0,9 l FIG. 2 FIG. 3 FIG. 4

2) Set the iron temperature to the

“cotton-linen” steam position (fig. 2), by turning the knob (7). All types of fabric can be ironed at this temperature. When dry ironing, set the knob (7) to the required temperature for the fabric, shown on the rotating indicator. FIG. 1

1) Unscrew the patented safety cap

(1) and fill the boiler with about

0.9 litres of ordinary tap water

using the special funnel, making sure that it does not overflow (Fig. 1). Retighten the cap fully and carefully. ENGLISH

5) By moving the slide control (10), the quality of steam can be varied according to

• If during use the generator switch (2) light up, you can continue ironing, as this indicates correct functioning.
• When the iron is no longer delivering steam, switch off the boiler switch (2), open the patented safety cap (1), wait 2-3 minutes for the boiler to cool down, and then refill.
• During initial operation of the iron, a few drops of water mixed with steam may come out of the soleplate until the temperature stabilises. It is advisable to direct the first jets of steam onto an old cloth.
• Ensure the patented safety cap is fully and correctly screwed on, otherwise you may experience steam escaping from around the cap. WARNINGS
• Never have the appliance unattended when it is plugged in.
• Always unplug before filling.
• The appliance is fitted with a safety thermostat, which should only be replaced by an authorised technician.
• When repairing or replacing any component, and in particular the special safety cap, only use original parts.
• If the patented safety cannot be opened for cold filling of the device, plug in the power cable plug (4), switch on the iron switch (3) and press the button (8) to eliminate any residual pressure in the boiler.
• If replacement of the power supply cable (4) should become necessary, please be sure to consult only a qualified electrician or your Polti Service Center. It is important that the colour of the replacement fuse cover corresponds with the colour marking on the base of the plug. • Green-and-yellow: Earth
• Brown: Live As the colours of the wires in the mains leads of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured green-and-yellow must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter “E” or by the earth symbol or green-and-yellow. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter “N” or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter “L” or coloured red. ENGLISH
