What type of water should be used in the VAPORELLA INOX 3000 R steam generator?

Use tap water. Do not add water before first use if it already contains water (factory tested).

How long does it take to heat up the steam generator?

About 8 minutes. The boiler indicator light turns off when the temperature is reached.

Why is my iron not producing steam?

Check that the iron thermostat is set to COTTON-LINEN for steam ironing. Make sure the boiler is on and the tank has water. If the boiler light is on, wait for it to turn off.

How to adjust the steam amount?

Turn the steam flow adjustment knob (9) counterclockwise to increase steam, and clockwise to decrease.

Can I dry iron with this steam generator?

Yes, set the iron thermostat (7) to the temperature corresponding to the fabric. Do not use the steam button.

How to safely fill the water tank?

First unplug the power cord. Wait for the boiler to cool down (2-3 minutes). Unscrew the safety cap and fill with 0.9 L of water without overflowing. Screw the cap back on tightly.

What to do if the safety cap won't unscrew?

Plug in the appliance, turn on the iron switch (3) and press the steam button (8) while leaving the boiler switch off. The pressure should decrease and the cap will unscrew.

What to do if the appliance no longer heats up?

Check if the thermal safety cut-off has tripped. If so, contact an authorized POLTI after-sales service center for replacement.

How to maintain the steam generator?

Regularly check the safety cap. Use only genuine POLTI spare parts. For cleaning, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.

Why are there water drops at the beginning of use?

There may be condensation in the circuit. Before first use, release a steam burst by lifting the iron above the iron rest to expel drops.

ATTENTION

The boiler already contains water, as it has been electronically Factory - tested.

When operating the appliance for the first time we recommend you use it without adding water until the steam is used up.

OPERATION

1 • Unscrew the patented safety cap and fill the generator with about 0,9 litres of normal tapwater, taking care not to overfill.

2- Set the temperature of the iron by turning knob (7) on the iron to the COTTON - LI-NEN position.

3 Plug in the power supply, push the generator and iron on/off switch (3-2), checking that they light up when pressed down.

1. Wait for the generator on/off switch (2) to go out (8 min. approx). Then push the steam release switch (8) on the handle of the iron, so as to allow steam to escape from the holes on the sole of the iron.

1. By turning the steam flow control knob (9) you can vary the amount of steam according to the type of textile to be ironed (more or less delicate).

IMPORTANT

• All types of textile can be steam ironed with the iron set to COTTON - LINEN.
• For dry ironing set the iron temperature control (7) to the fabric required to be ironed.
• During ironing the illuminated switch (2) may occasionally light up. This is quite normal and you can continue ironing regardless.
• When the iron has used up all the steam in the generator, switch off the generator switch (2), wait 2-3 minutes, to cool down, then unscrew the patented safety cap and you can proceed if desired to refill the generator with water.
• During the initial operation of the machine some droplets of condensation will be emitted. It is advisable on each use not to direct the first jets of steam onto the fabric to be ironed.
• Screw and unscrew the patented safety cap (1) carefully, otherwise you may experience some escapes of steam from the Cap area whilst the system is in operation.

SAFETY FIRST

• Do not leave the appliance unattended whilst plugged in.
• Disconnect the iron from the mains when filling or refilling.
• The appliance is provided with a safety thermostat. Should this need replacement, refer to an authorised electrician.
• If the security cap will not open for refilling, plug in the appliance (4), switch on the iron (3), and press the steam release switch (8) successively until any remaining pressure in the generator has been eliminated.
• If replacement of the power supply cable (4) should become necessary, please be sure to consult only a qualified electrician or your Polti Service Center.
• If the safety cap needs repair or replacement use only genuine original Polti parts.

MAINS (AG) OPERATION (only U.K.)

This unit is designed to operate on 240V, 50 Hz current only. Connecting it to other power sources may damage the unit.

WARNING - This appliance must be earthed.

This appliance may be fitted with a non rewirable plug, if it is necessary to change the fuse in a non rewirable plug the fuse cover must be refitted. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged, the plug must not be used until a replacement, available from the appliance manufacturer, is obtained. It is important that the colour of the replacement fuse cover corresponds with the colour marking on the base of the plug.

If the plug requires to be changed because it is not suitable for your socket, or becomes damaged, it should be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted following the wiring instruction (below). The plug removed must be disposed of safely as insertion into a 13A socket is likely to cause an electrical hazard.

IMPORTANT

This wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code.

• Green-and-yellow: Earth

• Blue: Neutral

• Brown: Live

As the colours of the wires in the mains leads of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

The wire which is coloured green-and-yellow must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter "E" or by the earth symbol or green-and-yellow.

The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter "N" or coloured black.

The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter "L" or coloured red.

HOW TO ACHIEVE PERFECT IRONING

To achieve perfect ironing using conventional irons, you have to iron the fabric several times with the hot iron to dry all residual moisture. The Stiro Professional Vaporella has a heated board with a suction feature.

Perfect ironing is dependent on these two characteristics: the suction which locks the garment on the board, so preventing the formation of annoying wrinkles which are so difficult to eliminate on conventional ironing boards, and the heated board which dries the fabrics and makes ironing easier, faster and less laborious.
