Frequently Asked Questions - AF-02B Clas Ohlson

How do I clean the air fryer?
Unplug and let cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Wash the pan and basket with warm water and mild dish soap, rinse well. Use a soft brush to clean the heating element. Never use metal objects or abrasive cleaners.
Why won't the air fryer start?
Check that the power cable is securely plugged into a live outlet. Ensure the timer is set to a value above zero. If still not starting, contact customer service.
Can I use oil in the air fryer?
Do not fill the pan with oil or liquid. You can brush a small amount of oil on food for crispier results, but never pour oil into the basket.
Why are my chips not crispy?
Try brushing with a small amount of oil before frying. Cut potatoes thinner. Also ensure you shake the basket halfway through cooking for even browning.
How much food can I put in the basket?
Do not fill beyond the MAX marking inside the basket. Overfilling can lead to uneven cooking and longer times.
What does the shaking function do?
Shaking helps redistribute small items like fries or nuggets halfway through cooking for even results. The air fryer pauses when you remove the pan and resumes when replaced.
Is the air fryer noisy?
The fan motor makes a low humming noise during operation. This is normal. If you hear unusual sounds, stop use and contact support.
Can I cook frozen food directly?
Yes, frozen foods like chips, spring rolls, and nuggets can be cooked straight from the freezer. Adjust time and temperature according to the chart in the manual.
What should I do if I see smoke?
If you notice black smoke, unplug immediately. Wait for the smoke to disperse and the unit to cool before removing the pan. Usually caused by food debris or excess oil in the pan.
How long does it take to preheat?
No preheating required. The air fryer heats up quickly. Add 3 minutes to cooking time if starting from cold, as per manual recommendations.

Troubleshooting guide

The fryer does not start. •Is the power cable undamaged and securely plugged into an electrical outlet?• Is the electrical outlet live?• Has the timer been set correctly?
The ingredients are not ready when the timer reaches zero.• The temperature is too low.• The frying time is too short.• The basket contains too many ingredients.
The ingredients are unevenly fried.• Certain ingredients need to be shaken after half the frying time has elapsed.
The ingredients are not crispy after frying.• Make sure to use the right type of ingredients.Ingredients intended to be deep fried in oil are not suitable for an air fryer.• Try brushing the ingredients with a small amount of oil before frying.
Steam escapes from the fryer during use.• If you fry fatty ingredients, fat will collect in the pan. This will form steam and the pan can become hotter than normal. This does not damage the fryer and does not affect the end result.• The pan contains fat from the previous use.Make sure the pan is properly cleaned between uses.
Fresh chips are unevenly fried.• Rinse your chips thoroughly before frying to remove starch.• Have you used an unsuitable type of potato?
The chips are not crispy after frying.• Try brushing the chips with a small amount of oil before frying.• Cut the chips more thinly.
