Why does the air fryer not start?

Ensure the mains lead is undamaged and securely plugged into a 230 V AC outlet. Check that the outlet is live and that the timer has been set to a time greater than zero.

Why is the food not cooked after the timer reaches zero?

The temperature may be too low or the cooking time too short. Also check if the pan contains too many food items. Increase temperature or time and reduce quantity if needed.

Why is the food not cooked evenly?

Some foods need to be shaken halfway through cooking. Carefully remove the pan and shake it to redistribute the food for even cooking.

Why are my chips not crispy?

Brush the chips with a small amount of oil before cooking for crispier results. Also ensure you are using suitable potatoes and cut them into thinner strips.

Can I use oil in the air fryer?

Do not pour oil or any liquid directly into the pan. However, you can brush or spray food with a little oil before cooking to enhance crispiness.

Why does steam escape from the air fryer?

When cooking fatty foods, fat collects in the pan and vaporizes, creating steam. This is normal and does not affect performance. Ensure the pan is properly cleaned between uses.

How to clean the air fryer?

Unplug and let cool. Wash the pan and grate with warm water and mild detergent using a soft sponge. Wipe the exterior and interior with a damp cloth. Never immerse the unit in water.

What is the maximum capacity?

The pan has a MAX mark inside. Do not fill beyond this mark. The capacity is 1.5 liters.

Can the air fryer be used automatically with a timer?

No, the product must never be used with an external timer or automatic switch-on device. It is only for manual operation.

How do I store the air fryer?

Store in a dry, dust-free place out of reach of children. Ensure it is unplugged and completely cool before storing.

Safety

• Never immerse the product or the mains lead in water or other liquid.
• The product will get hot during use. Even surfaces that do not function as heating components can reach high temperatures. Since some people are more sensitive to temperature than others, the product should be handled with CAUTION. Only insulated handles or gripping surfaces should be touched and heatproof gloves or mitts should be worn. Any non-insulated handle or surface should be allowed to cool before it is touched.

- The product must always be unplugged before it is cleaned and when it is not in use. The product must be allowed to cool before it is taken apart or assembled.

- If the mains lead has been damaged, it must only be replaced by the manufacturer, authorised service facility or qualified tradesman. This is to prevent the risk of electric shock or fire.

- The use of accessories which are not recommended by the manufacturer or retailer may present a risk of personal injury.

- The product is intended for indoor use only.

- Never let the mains lead hang over the edge of a table or counter. Neither must the mains lead ever come into contact with hot surfaces.

- Never place the product onto or next to a hot stove. Neither must it ever be placed into a hot oven.

- This product is only intended for domestic use and only in the manner described in this instruction manual.

• The product may be used by children of 8 years and older and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capability or lack of experience and knowledge provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Never let children play with the product.
• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without adult supervision.

Danger

• Never immerse the product (it contains electrical components and heating elements) in water. Never wash it in running water either.
• Make sure that no liquid of any kind gets inside the product. An accumulation of liquid inside the product could lead to an electric shock or short circuit.
• Ensure that all food items are placed in the pan and do not come into contact with other parts of the product.
• Never cover the product.
• Never pour oil or other liquid into the pan.
• Never touch the inside of the product while it is in use.

• The product should only be connected to a 230 V AC, 50 Hz electrical outlet.

• Never use the product if it is in any way damaged or not working properly or if the mains lead or plug is damaged. Do not use the product if you have dropped it on the floor or into water or other liquid.

• Never use the product if your hands are moist or wet.

• Never place the product next to a wall or close to other products. Leave a space of at least 10 cm behind, above and on all sides of the product.
• Never place anything on top of the product.
• Never leave the product unattended while in use.
• When in use, hot steam will be emitted from the air outlet, keep your hands and face a safe distance away from the steam and the air outlet.
• Be careful to avoid being scalded by escaping steam when removing the pan from the product.
• Unplug the product immediately should it begin to emit black smoke. Wait until the smoke has dissipated and the product has cooled before removing the pan.

Use caution

• The product should be placed on a firm, level surface capable of supporting its weight.
• The product is only intended for normal domestic use and only in the manner described in this instruction manual. It is not intended for continual use in environments such as staff canteens, offices, hotels and hostels.
• Make sure that the product is always unplugged from the electrical outlet when it is not in use.
• The product needs to cool for at least 30 minutes before it can be handled safely for cleaning, etc.

Before initial use

• Remove all packaging.
• Clean the pan thoroughly. Use only mild cleaning agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• Rinse well and ensure that the pan is completely dry before use.

Instructions for use

1. Remove the pan from the air fryer.

2. Place the foodstuffs into the pan. Never fill the pan to a level above the MAX mark.

1. Switch the air fryer on by setting the timer to the desired time.

1. Slide the pan into the air fryer, making sure that it is inserted all the way. The metal grate in the bottom of the pan separates the foodstuff from any fat released during cooking.

1. Set the desired temperature.

i Useful tips

- Small items of food might need to be shaken somewhat after half their cooking time. Carefully extract the pan, the air fryer will switch off, shake the pan carefully before sliding it back into the air fryer. The air fryer will switch back on again automatically.

- Setting the timer to half the cooking time will help you to remember to shake the pan. Once the pan has been shaken and returned to the air fryer, the remaining cooking time can be set.

1. When the set cooking time has elapsed, the air fryer will emit an audible signal. Remove the pan and place it onto a heatproof surface.

⚠ Warning: The pan will be very hot. Make sure that the surface that you place the pan on is heatproof and that there is little probability of somebody coming into contact with the pan and burning themselves or knocking it over.

1. Check that the food has been cooked. If the food is not ready, slide the pan back into the air fryer and set the timer for a few more minutes.

2. Any oil released from the food during cooking will collect under the grate in the bottom of the pan. Be careful, the oil will be very hot.

Warning: Never touch the pan straight after use. It can become very hot. Only ever lift the pan using the handle.

This table shows examples of foodstuffs and cooking times. Bear in mind that weight, time and temperatures are approximate and can vary. Add another three minutes to the cooking time if the air fryer is cold when you start to use it.

Useful tips

• Small sized items of food generally require a shorter cooking time than larger items.
• A large amount of foodstuffs will require a long cooking time.
• A lesser amount of foodstuffs will require less cooking time.
• Small items of food should be shaken halfway through their cooking time to ensure that they are fried evenly.
• Brushing chips or french fries with a little oil will make them crispier.
• Potatoes should be cooked within minutes of the oil having been added.
• Avoid cooking very fatty foods such as sausages.

Care and maintenance

• Turn off the air fryer and pull out the plug from the electrical outlet. Let the air fryer cool completely.
• Clean the exterior of the air fryer using a damp cloth. Use only mild cleaning agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• Wash the pan with warm water and washing-up liquid. Rinse thoroughly. Use only a soft dish-washing brush/sponge. Never use metal objects to clean the pan, as these may damage the coating.
• Clean the inside of the air fryer with a damp cloth and use a brush to carefully clean the heating element.
• Turn off the air fryer, unplug the power cable from the electrical outlet and store in a dry, dust-free environment out of the reach of children whenever it is not to be used for an extended period.
