Frequently Asked Questions - IAN 273178 CRIVIT

How to adjust the helmet size?
Use the rotary knob at the back to adjust the headband width: turn clockwise to tighten, counter-clockwise to loosen. Additionally, the headband height can be adjusted by moving the connection pins to different locking points (2 positions). Ensure the helmet fits snugly and does not move when the chin strap is loose.
How to clean the helmet?
Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth and a mild solution of pH-neutral detergent and water. Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, or petroleum-based products. The inner padding can be removed and hand washed with soapy water below 30°C, then dried at room temperature.
Is this helmet suitable for cycling?
Yes, this helmet is specifically designed for cycling, skateboarding, inline skating, and roller skating. It complies with EN 1078 standard for these activities. It is not intended for other sports or motorcycling.
What is the lifespan of the helmet?
The helmet should be replaced no later than 5 years from the date of manufacture. Additionally, replace immediately after any impact, even if no visible damage is present, as protection may be compromised.
How to mount the attachment?
Mount the attachment by inserting half of the attachment stopper into a ventilation hole, then push down and twist the attachment onto the helmet. Use a blunt pen as an aid if needed. To remove, pinch the sides and pull out.
Does the helmet have any certifications?
Yes, it is certified by TÜV Rheinland (Notified Body 0197) according to European Directive 89/686/EEC and harmonized standard EN 1078 for bicycle and skate helmets.
Can I paint the helmet or apply decals?
No, never paint the helmet or apply decals or labels, as solvents can damage the helmet's protective properties. Only use original replacement parts.
What should I do after a crash or impact?
Replace the helmet immediately, even if the damage is not visible. The helmet is designed for a single impact and its protection is no longer guaranteed after any accident.
How to adjust the chin strap?
Adjust the chin strap length using the loop and the strap divider clip. Ensure the strap does not cover the ears, the divider does not cause discomfort, and the fastener is not on the chin. The strap should be tight enough that only a few fingers can slide under.
What is the warranty period and how to claim?
The helmet has a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase for material and workmanship. For claims, contact the service hotline (e.g., 0871 5000 720 for GB) or email deltasport@lidl.co.uk. Keep your receipt.

Safety notices

  • Do not allow children to wear this helmet while climbing or playing as this carries a risk of strangulation.
  • The helmet must be firmly seated and the chin strap closed tightly.
  • Do not shift the helmet toward the neck, as this will leave your forehead unprotected.
  • Do not wear headgear under the helmet.
  • Be sure not to restrict air circulation.
  • Never modify the helmet, its structure or the individual components.
  • Never paint the helmet and/or apply decals or labels.
  • The impacts of paint, decals, cleaning liquids or other solvents can seriously impair the protection of the helmet.
  • The helmet is intended to protect the head in the event of an impact. This protection is no longer warranted after just one (even minor) impact. The helmet must therefore immediately be replaced following an accident, even without visible damage.
  • Never use solvents or abrasive cleaners containing petroleum to clean the helmet, neither inside nor outside. Always use a pH-neutral detergent diluted in clear water; carefully rub with a soft cloth. Then dry with a lint-free cloth. The padding may be cleaned with a little soap, using a soft brush.

HeiQ® Pure dynamiq

PURE Textile freshness

Experience the feeling of lasting freshness through the power of silver, keeping you odour-free all day long.

ADAPTIVE Thermal control

Feel good all over. The textile will cool you down when you're hot, and keep you dry longer in cold weather. Cools and minimises perspiration.

Helmet sizing

  • Measure the circumference of the head and select the helmet size accordingly. Try several helmets before deciding. Ideally, the skin over your temples moves along when wearing the helmet.
  • Verify the helmet does not move much on your head even with chin strap loose.
  • The chin strap must be closed firmly for a secure seat. It is fitted correctly when it is difficult to slide your fingers under the chin straps. However, you must still be able to comfortably breathe, swallow and turn your head.
  • The helmet is seated correctly if it is tight, yet comfortable on your head (Fig. B).
  • If the helmet is too large (wiggles, cannot be adjusted tightly enough) or too small (pinches, forehead exposed), please select the next larger or smaller size.
  • Never use the helmet if it cannot be adjusted correctly.

Adjusting the chin strap (Fig. C)

The general length of the chin strap can be adjusted with the loop. You may also use the strap divider clip to adjust the length of the chin strap. Please ensure that the strap divider does not bother you, the straps do not cover your ears, and the fastener does not rest on your chin.

Headband width adjustment (Fig. D)

Use the wheel for variable adjustment to your head size to ensure the helmet is seated optimally. Turn the wheel clockwise to tighten the headband and counter-clockwise to loosen the headband.

Headband height adjustment (Fig. E)

The height of the headband system can be adjusted to fit. There are 2 different height adjustments. Pull the headband system connection pins out of the locking points in the EPS shell. You can now attach the headband system pins in other locking points higher or lower. Push the pins into the locking points until you hear and feel them lock in. Both pins must always be locked in.

Mounting/dismantling the attachment (Fig. F)

An adult must carry out the mounting. Mount the attachment as follows: 1. Insert half of the attachment stopper (8a) into the ventilation opening (2).

  1. Push down into the ventilation opening the half of the attachment stopper that is not yet in the ventilation opening by twisting the attachment onto the helmet applying pressure.

Note: We recommend using a non-pointed pen or similar as an aid to push down the attachment into place. Please take care not to damage the article or injure yourself.

In order to remove the attachment, pinch the sides of the attachment together and pull it out of the helmet.

Maintenance and care

Regular maintenance and care contributes to ensuring the safety and preservation of the helmet.
