Use
Make sure your hair is completely dry and comb it through. If you have very long or thick hair, it may be easier to use hair clips to section your hair.
Plug the appliance into a wall socket. OFF appears in the display. Switch the appliance on by pressing and holding the switch on the edge of the handle until the preset temperature (180°) flashes on the display. The ionisation function is automatically activated once the straightener is started – ION appears in the display.
The temperature can easily be adjusted by pressing the temperature selector buttons +/- until the required temperature (130-230°C) flashes on the display. Select the temperature best suited to your hair type. See the recommended temperatures below.
If using the straighteners for the first time, we recommend starting with the lowest temperature.
130-170°C – thin, fine hair/coloured hair
190-210°C - normal hair
230°C – thick, very resilient hair
Place the straighteners on a heat-resistant surface while they heat up. The set temperature flashes on the display until the temperature has been reached and then stays lit on the display and READY appears on the display to indicate that the appliance is ready to use.
To activate the keypad lock, press the power button twice. A key symbol lights up in the display, and all buttons are locked for accidental activation. To unlock, press the power button again twice. The key symbol goes out.
Keep the straighteners at a safe distance from the skin and eyes. Use a mirror. Do not take sections of hair wider than 5 cm. Place the hair between the plates and press together. Make sure that your fingers do not come into contact with the hot plates. Then draw the straighteners down towards the ends of your hair in one smooth movement. For best results, start at the roots and work out towards the ends.
NOTE! These straighteners reach very high temperatures. Make sure that the straighteners' hot plates do not come into contact with the scalp, face, neck or hands. Do not use the straighteners on wigs, extensions or artificial hair without testing them on a small section of hair first to discover if there is a risk of the hair melting.
Automatic shut-off function
The straighteners have a safety function that switches the appliance off automatically after around 1 hour. OFF is shown on the display. The automatic shut-off function is an extra safety feature, but as a rule the straighteners should always be switched off by pressing the power button. Always unplug after use.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Switch off the straighteners by pressing the power button. The display will go out. Allow the straighteners to cool down completely on a heat-resistant surface before cleaning.
- Styling products may be used in the hair before styling. Note that the use of chemicals may damage the straighteners' casing and plates over time.
- Make sure that the straighteners are out of the reach of children. The straighteners reach very high temperatures when in use, and therefore take a long time to cool down.
- The straighteners and cord must not be immersed in water or other liquids and must not come into direct contact with water.
• Make sure that water does not get into the casing! - Wipe the straighteners' casing and plates with a damp cloth. Wipe with a dry cloth.
- The cord must not be wrapped around the straighteners.
- Make sure that the straighteners have cooled completely and are dry before putting them away.
- Keep the straighteners in a safe, dry location out of the reach of children after use.
Do not wrap the cord around the straighteners, as this may cause abnormal strain, with a risk of the cord breaking. It is best to store the straighteners in the case provided.
The tongs have a practical lock function which makes them easier to carry. To activate the lock function, press the round button (the locked padlock symbol) located between the handles while pressing the tongs together. To unlock, press the tongs together and press the button with the open padlock symbol.
Disposal of the appliance
