Settings

while working: working pressure set at

pressure regulator or filter pressure gauge to max. 6.3 bar.

Noise emission level:

Noise emission level measured according to EN 1265. Typical A-weighted emission sound pressure level of the pneumatic tool:

Sound pressure level: L pA = 95 dB (A)

Uncertainty: K pA = 3 dB (A)

Sound power level: L WA = 106 dB (A)

Uncertainty: KWA = 3 dB (A)

PARKSIDE PDSP 1000 C3 - Noise emission level: - 1

Wear ear protectors!

Vibration total value:

Vibration total value measured according to EN 12096:

q _ h = ≤ 2. 5 m / s ^ 2

WARNING! The vibration level stated in these instructions has been measured in accordance with a standardised measurement procedure given in EN 12096 and can be used to compare different equipment. The vibration total value stated can also be used for an initial estimation of exposure from the machine. The vibration level will change in accordance with how the pneumatic tool is used and may in some cases exceed the value given in these instructions. The vibration exposure could therefore be underestimated if the pneumatic tool is regularly used in this kind of way.

NOTE For an accurate estimate of the vibration exposure during a specific period of working time, periods of time should also be included in which the device is switched off or is running but is not actually being actively used (idling). This can significantly reduce the vibration exposure over the entire period of working time.

- General safety instructions

WARNING! Read all safety instructions and other instructions. Failure to follow or comply with the safety instructions or other instructions could lead to an electric shock, fire and/or serious injuries.

Please keep all safety instructions and other instructions in a safe place.

• Workplace safety

a) Ensure that your work area is clean and well illuminated. Untidiness and poorly lit work areas can cause accidents to happen.
b) Do not work with the device in explosion hazard areas, where combustible liquids, gases or dusts are present. The device can generate sparks that could ignite such dusts or fumes.
c) Keep children and other persons out of the work area while the device is being used. If you are distracted, you could lose control of the device.

WARNING!

RECOIL HAZARD!

High working pressures can produce powerful recoil forces that can in some circumstances create hazards due to continuous stress and strain.

■ DANGER OF INJURY!

Disconnect the device from the compressed air supply before carrying out repair and servicing or moving the device.

■ DANGER OF INJURY!

Disconnect the device from the compressed air supply before filling with blasting material.

PARKSIDE PDSP 1000 C3 - RECOIL HAZARD! - 1

NOTE

Please also follow the safety

instructions from the blasting material manufacturer.

■ Only use materials that are compatible with the air-driven 1 sandblasting gun.
Always use suitable blasting material!
■ ATTENTION! Device produces clouds of dust. Take precautions before use!
■ Ensure that blasting material is collected for disposal to avoid polluting the environment.
- Do not remove any device labels/type plates. These are important for safety.
If you do not have experience with using the device, you should seek training to ensure you can use it safely.

PARKSIDE PDSP 1000 C3 - NOTE - 1

WARNING!

POISONOUS DUSTS!

Working with harmful/poisonous dusts represents a health hazard for the device operator or persons present in the vicinity of the work area.

PARKSIDE PDSP 1000 C3 - POISONOUS DUSTS! - 1

ATTENTION

Ensure that the device is

disconnected from the compressed air supply when not in use, when replacing accessory parts or carrying out repairs. The air hose must not be under pressure.

- Operation

NOTE

The maximum grit size is

0.8 mm.

- Connecting the compressed air supply

NOTE The air-driven sandblasting gun must be operated with compressed air that is clean, oil-free, moisture-free and at a maximum pressure of 6.3 bar. To regulate the compressed air supply, a pressure regulator and filter should be used (e.g. Parkside Compressed Air Maintenance Unit PDWE 8 A1).

■ Connect the air-driven sandblasting gun to a suitable compressed air supply. Plug the quick-connect plug on the supply hose into the barbed fitting 2 on the air-driven sandblasting gun 1. The plug locks into place automatically.

NOTE Ensure that the rotary control is set to "0" before you connect the device to your compressed air supply.

- Filling the blasting material tank

ATTENTION Before opening the screw cap on the 9 blasting material tank 8 or changing any other settings, the device must be completely depressurised and the sandblasting gun must be disconnected from the compressed air supply (e.g. compressor).

■ Only use compatible blasting material for your sandblasting work 14.

NOTE We recommend using blasting material with no risk of silicosis (ground blast furnace slag) with a grit size of 0.2 mm to 0.8 mm.

■ Ensure that the blasting material is absolutely dry and not too coarse-grained.

  • Open the screw cap on the blasting material tank 8 by turning the cap anticlockwise.
  • Fill the desired quantity of blasting material into the blasting material tank 8.
    ■ Take care not to overfill the tank: the maximum tank capacity is 900 ml.
  • Replace and close the screw cap on the blasting material tank 8 by turning it clockwise. Ensure that the screw cap is properly seated and tightly closed.

NOTE

BLASTING MATERIAL GRIT SIZE

☐ The larger/coarser the grit size of the blasting material used, the less precise the dirt removal process. The blasting material included is small and is very suitable for the removal of rust bloom or soiling. Finer blasting material is also gentler on the surface of the material and abrasion is confined to the surface. For larger areas of rust, coarser blasting material should be used, which can be purchased from larger stockists. Attention: do not exceed the maximum grit.

● Fitting the collecting bag for sandblasting material

■ Using a screwdriver, attach the collecting bag 4 to the device with the screw clamp included in the package contents 5.

- Selecting and fitting attachments

■ Select the attachment that is the best tool for the job in hand (10, 11, 12, 13).
■ Fit your chosen attachment firmly to the blasting nozzle 6, taking care to ensure that no air can escape at the sides.

Operation

• Using the air-driven sandblasting gun

■ Prepare your workpiece for sandblasting. Clean and degrease your workpiece.

PARKSIDE PDSP 1000 C3 - • Using the air-driven sandblasting gun - 1

NOTE

Dust and grease deposits will significantly impair your results.

  • Carefully cover up or mask off anything that should not be sandblasted.
The distance from the attachment to your workpiece is critical for the end result. Keep the distance as short as possible, to ensure that the 14 collecting bag 4 can catch all of the material.
The closer you get to your workpiece, the smaller the blasting radius on the workpiece itself, and vice versa.
To check results beforehand, you can perform a test run on a piece of scrap material. This helps you to identify the right distance/working pressure and avoids excessive sandblasting of your actual workpiece.

• Emptying the collecting bag for sandblasting material

PARKSIDE PDSP 1000 C3 - • Emptying the collecting bag for sandblasting material - 1

NOTE

Do not reuse excess

sandblasting material from the collecting bag 4 before it has been properly cleaned.

- You can empty the excess sandblasting material that has been collected in the collecting bag 4 by opening the bag's zip fastener. Alternatively, you can use a screw-driver to loosen the screw clamp 5 and then remove the collecting bag 4 from the device.

Switching on:

  • Set the rotary control to "1" to open the air check valve.
    ■ Move the air-driven sandblasting gun to the surface you will be working on.
    ■ Press the trigger lever to start using the air-driven sandblasting gun 1.

Switching off:

■ Release the trigger lever to switch off the air-driven sandblasting gun 1.
- Set the rotary control to "0" to close the air check valve.
■ Disconnect the device from the compressed air supply after completing work.

PARKSIDE PDSP 1000 C3 - Switching off: - 1

NOTE

Detach the hose from the compressed air supply first, before you remove the supply hose from the device.

This will prevent a situation where the supply hose whips around uncontrollably.
