Frequently Asked Questions - Brunch TOL-1400S WILFA

How do I use the toaster for the first time?
Plug in the toaster, but do not put any bread in. Press the bread carriage lever down. The toaster will emit some smoke during the first cycle; this is normal and stops after a few minutes. Then you can start toasting bread normally.
How do I adjust the browning level?
Turn the browning level dial to your desired setting from 1 (light) to 5 (dark). Experiment to find the perfect toasting time, as it varies with bread freshness and type.
What does the Reheat button do?
The Reheat button reheats already toasted bread without further browning. Press it once; the indicator light turns on. Then lower the bread carriage lever to start reheating.
How do I defrost frozen bread?
Place frozen bread in the toaster slot. Press the Defrost button (indicator lights up), then lower the bread carriage lever. The toaster will adjust the cycle to defrost and toast the bread.
How do I stop the toasting cycle early?
Press the Stop button. The bread carriage will rise immediately and the toaster will turn off.
How do I clean the toaster?
Unplug the toaster and let it cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a soft damp cloth. Slide out the crumb tray, empty it, and clean with a brush or cloth. Do not immerse the toaster in water or use abrasive cleaners.
Can I toast bagels or thick bread slices?
The toaster slots are designed for standard bread slices. Bagels or thick bread may fit but could get stuck. Do not force bread into the slots. If using thicker items, monitor closely and use caution.
Why does the toaster smoke on first use?
Manufacturing residues or protective coatings may burn off during the first use. This is normal and harmless. Run the toaster without bread for a full cycle to clear the smoke.
What should I do if bread gets stuck in the toaster?
Unplug the toaster immediately. Let it cool, then gently remove the bread with a wooden or plastic utensil. Do not use metal objects, as they can cause electric shock or damage the heating elements.
Is the toaster safe for children?
Children aged 8 and above can use the toaster under adult supervision. The appliance becomes very hot, so keep it out of reach of children under 8 years. Always supervise children when they use or are near the toaster.
