Frequently Asked Questions - SAC05C19E Sandstrøm

How do I install the Sandstrøm SAC05C19E air conditioner?
Place the unit near a window. Extend the exhaust hose to the outside using the window kit provided. Ensure the hose is not kinked. Plug into a grounded outlet. For detailed steps, refer to the installation section of the manual.
How often should I clean the filter?
Clean the washable filter every two weeks under normal use. Remove the filter grille, take out the filter, and wash it with warm water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling. A dirty filter reduces efficiency.
Do I need to drain the water?
The unit features partial auto-evaporation, so water is mostly evaporated. However, in high humidity, the internal tank may fill. If the 'Full' indicator lights, drain the water by removing the bottom drain plug or connecting a hose. Check the manual for your model.
What is the cooling capacity in square feet?
With 10,000 BTU, it can cool a room up to approximately 450 sq. ft. (depending on insulation, ceiling height, and sun exposure). For best results, keep doors and windows closed.
Can I use it as a heater?
No, the SAC05C19E is a cooling-only air conditioner. It does not have a heat pump function. For heating, consider a separate device.
How do I use the remote control?
Insert two AAA batteries (not included) into the remote. Point it at the unit's receiver. Use buttons to set mode (Cool/Fan/Dry), fan speed, temperature, timer, and sleep mode. Ensure no obstructions.
Why is the unit not cooling properly?
Check if the filter is dirty, the exhaust hose is blocked or not properly vented, the room is too large, or the set temperature is too high. Also ensure all windows and doors are closed. Clean the filter and check the hose.
What do the error codes mean?
Common codes: E1 (sensor error), E2 (anti-freeze protection), E4 (water full). Refer to the troubleshooting section of your manual. If problem persists, contact customer support.
Is the unit energy efficient?
With an estimated EER of 8.5, it is moderately efficient. For better efficiency, use the timer, clean the filter regularly, and close curtains during the hottest part of the day.
Where can I find spare parts?
Spare parts such as filters, remote controls, and exhaust hoses can be ordered from the Sandstrøm official website or authorized dealers. Use the model number SAC05C19E to ensure compatibility.

Refrigerant leakage contributes to climate change. Refrigerant with lower global warming potential (GWP) would contribute less to global warming than a refrigerant with a higher GWP, if leaked into the atmosphere. This appliance contains a refrigerant fluid with a GWP equal to 3. This means that if 1kg of this refrigerant fluid were leaked into the atmosphere, the impact on global warming would be 3 times higher than 1kg of CO2 over a period of 100 years. Never try to interfere with the refrigerant circuit yourself or disassemble the product yourself. Always asks a qualified service agent.
