How do I install the Sandstrøm S1337CAM webcam?

Turn on your computer, close all programs, then connect the USB cable to an available USB 2.0 port. The webcam should be automatically recognized. No additional drivers are needed for Windows XP/Vista/7/8 or Mac OS 10.5+.

How do I set up the webcam on Skype?

Open Skype, go to Tools > Options > Video settings. Select 'USB Camera' from the drop-down menu. For audio, go to Audio settings and select 'USB Camera' under Microphone. On Mac, go to Skype > Preferences > Audio/Video and select the same.

What should I do if there is no image from the webcam?

Ensure the USB cable is securely connected. Make sure the lens is free from obstructions and pointing in the right direction. Check that the webcam is selected in your video software.

Why are my pictures dark even with the webcam?

Check that there is sufficient lighting. Avoid strong backlight. Adjust brightness or contrast in your software. Ensure the lens is clean.

How can I stop the flickering picture while using Skype?

Installation

1. Turn on your computer. Close all the open programs.
2. Connect the USB cable of your webcam to the USB port of your computer.

Hints and Tips

Outdoor Use

- Your webcam is not designed for outdoor use and should not be exposed to the elements without suitable protection. In general, you should not expose it to extreme temperatures or humidity.

No Image

• Ensure the USB cable is correctly and securely attached.
  • Make sure your lens is free from obstruction, and that it is pointing in the appropriate direction.

Dark Pictures

• Check that there is sufficient light for the camera. Alternatively, you may wish to adjust the brightness or contrast settings in the software you are using.
• Ensure there is no strong light source behind the object or person being viewed by the webcam.

Flickering Picture While Using Skype

- If your picture is flickering while using Skype you make need to change Powerline Frequency. Set it to 50Hz for use in the UK and 60Hz for use in Europe.

Open the Video setting menu and click on Webcam setting. The Capture Properties menu will open.

Change the Powerline Frequency and the flickering should stop. Click on Apply then OK. Then Save the Webcam settings.
