How do I set the clock on the NR50?

Ensure the unit is in standby mode. Press and hold the Mem/Clk-Adj button until the display flashes '24HR'. Use the Skip Up/Down buttons to choose 12 or 24-hour format, then press Mem/Clk-Adj. Set the hour and minute similarly, pressing Mem/Clk-Adj after each step.

How do I play a vinyl record?

First, remove the stylus protector and ensure the tone arm lock screw is released. Select Phono mode using the Function button. Set the speed selector to match your record (33⅓, 45, or 78 RPM). Place the record on the platter, lift the tone arm lever, and manually position the tonearm over the record. Lower the lever to start playback.

How do I connect a Bluetooth device?

Press the Function button to select BT mode. The Bluetooth icon will flash. On your phone or other device, enable Bluetooth and search for 'NR50'. Select it to pair. Once connected, the icon stops flashing and remains lit. You can now stream audio.

How do I record audio from a CD to a USB drive?

Insert a USB drive into the front USB port. Select CD mode and play the track you want to record. Press the REC button twice until 'REC USB' flashes on the display. The system will start recording. Press Stop to end recording. For whole CD, stop playback first, then press REC three times.

How do I preset radio stations?

Tune to the desired station manually or by scanning. Press and hold Mem/Clk-Adj for about 4 seconds until the preset number flashes. Use Skip Up/Down to select a preset location (1-20). Press Mem/Clk-Adj to store. Repeat for other stations. To recall, press Mem/Clk-Adj briefly, then use Skip to select.

What types of discs can the CD player read?

The CD player supports Audio CDs, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-encoded discs. For MP3, bit rates from 32 to 320 kbps and sampling rates of 32, 44.1, and 48 kHz are supported. ID3 tags are displayed in English and Arabic numerals.

How do I adjust the turntable speed?

The turntable speed selector is located near the tonearm base. Slide it to the desired speed: 33⅓ for LPs, 45 for singles, or 78 for older records. Ensure the selector locks into place.

How do I use the sleep timer?

Press the Sleep button. The display shows 'SLP-120'. Press repeatedly to cycle through 120, 90, 60, 45, ..., 15 minutes. The unit will automatically switch to standby after the set time. To cancel, press Sleep until 'SLP-off' appears.

How do I perform a factory reset?

Select DAB mode. Press and hold the Play Mode button for 2-3 seconds. The unit will reset to factory defaults. Note that this only resets DAB settings; other modes may not be affected.

What should I do if the tonearm does not return at the end of the record?

If the record ends but the tonearm does not return, you can adjust the turntable. On the rear of the unit, locate the hole labeled 'NO OPEN' with a screw. Use a screwdriver to turn the screw clockwise (about 45°) to make the arm return earlier, or counterclockwise to delay return. Test and repeat until correct.

1. Remove the battery compartment door by pressing in on the lab and lifting it off.
2. Insert two AAA size batteries (not included) into the battery compartment following the polarity markings inside the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover.

INSTALLATION

• Unpack all parts and remove protective material.
• Do not connect the unit to the mains before checking the main voltage and before all other connections have been made.
• Do not cover any vents and make sure that there is a space of several centimeters around the unit for ventilation.

Connection

1. Plug in the AC cord to the AC outlet. Switch the unit to standby mode by turning on the Main power switch. The unit will go to standby mode and the LCD display will dim light up.
2. Turn on the unit, if the LCD display is on with backlighting, it means the power supply is normal. Now your system is ready to play the music.

Remark: Due to ErP stage two requirements and protect the environment. The unit will switch to standby mode automatically once no any music playing over 15 minutes.

Setting the clock

1. Set the unit in standby mode.
2. Press the "Mem/Clk-Adj" button until display flashes "24HR". Press the Skip Up ▶ or Skip Down ◀ button to select the clock format between 12 or 24Hour. Then press the "Mem/Clk-Adj" button.
3. The first digit of "0:00" is flashing on the LCD display. Press Skip Up ▶ or Skip Down ▶ button to set the correct hour. Press "Mem/Clk-Adj" button to store the correct hour.
4. The third & fourth digit of "00" is flashing, press the Skip Up ▶ or Skip Down ◀◀ button to set the correct minutes. Then press "Mem/Clk-Adj" button to store the correct minute.

The clock setting mode will automatically quit if no button is being pressed in a period of about 5 seconds.

RADIO

Manual Tuning

1. Plug in the provided DAB/FM tuner antenna to the antenna socket then switch on the unit by pressing the On/Standby button, then press Function button (2) to select "FM" mode.
2. Tune to the required station by tuning knob.
3. Turn the Volume knob to the desired volume level.

Auto tuning

1. Set the unit to FM mode.
2. Press the Scan button once; unit will start to scan at tuning up direct until radio station received. Press and hold the Scan button for a second, the unit will scan to tuning down direction. If the radio data system (RDS) broadcasting signal received, the unit will set the actual time automatically.
3. Turn the Volume knob to the desired volume level.

Radio data system (RDS)

This is the features to display the information which released from the radio broadcast and will show on LCD display step by step as below by pressing the Info button continuously:

Radio text → program type → signal strength → date/time → frequency → mono/stereo

Digital audio broadcasting (DAB) radio

1. Set the unit to "DAB" mode by Function button.
2. Press the "Scan" button once; unit will start to full scan from range 11b-12d one time within around 2 second. Then press Tune up/down button to select your desired DAB channel.
3. Press the Info button continuously to check the below info released by DAB. Group name → frequency → transfer rate → signal strength → date/time → program type → scrolling text
4. Turn the Volume knob to the desired volume level.

Preset stations

You can store up to total of 40 radio stations in the memory (20 FM/20 DAB).

1. Set to FM/DAB mode
2. Turn to the desired radio station by "manual" or "auto" tuning method.
3. Press and hold the Mem/Clock-Adjust button for about four seconds to enable memory state, the preset station will flash on LCD display.
4. Press the Skip up /down button to select the desired station memory for storage.
5. Press Mem/Clock-Adjust button to confirm the preset memory.
6. Repeat step 2 to 5 to store other stations.

Recall preset stations

1. Press the Mem/Clock-Adjust button once to enable recall state
2. Press Skip up /down button to select the desired memory station.
3. Press Memory/Clock-Adjust button to confirm the recall memory station.

The unit needs about 3 seconds to store the station. This state would resume to normal tuner mode automatically.
➢ You can overwrite a current station by re-storing a new frequency at this place.

FM-Stereo reception

• The FM stereo LED indicator lights up when a station with sufficient transmitter power is found.
• To check if stereo signal is being received, press Info button repeatedly until reaching the mono/stereo section. The display will show “Mono” or “Auto (Stereo)” to show which signal is now receiving

Hints for best reception:

The receiver work with a DAB/FM antenna, made sure the antenna had plugged into the antenna socket and totally unraveled for the best reception.

CD

- Getting start

1. Press Function button to select "CD" mode.
2. Push the CD open button to open the CD tray.
3. Place a CD with the printed side facing up and then close the CD tray.
4. The unit start to search and will show on the display the total number of the tracks and the total playing time. Then the unit will start automatically the playback.
5. Turn the volume knob to adjust the desired volume level.

- Play / Pause mode

To interrupt the playback press the "Play/Pause ▶" button once. The digit will flash on the LCD display. Press again the button to resume the playback.

- Stop mode

To stop the playback press the "Stop ■button.

- Skip mode (skip up /skip down)

1. During play or pause mode press the "skip up ▶▶I" button. The unit will go to the next track and the display show the track number.
2. During play or pause mode press the "skip down ◀◀" button. It will go to the beginning of the same track. Press the button twice fast the unit will go to the previous track.

- For MP3 Disc

1. After reading the disc the total number of track and album will be shown on the LCD display. The unit will start to play automatically.
2. Turn the "Folder/Tuning up ▲/down ▼" knob to select the folder number.
3. Press "Skip Up ▶▶I" or "Skip Down ◀◀" button to select the track number.

ID3/Display function

Press the "Info" button repeatedly; the LCD display show "file" during playback of MP3 file, the song file/album/song/artist name is being displayed for few seconds in sequence. Then the device returns to the current playing time.

Remark:

• If no title has been assigned to the title or no supporting languages have been assigned, the LCD will show nothing when the Info button is pressed.
• No Title/Album name can be recognized if the input format of the disc is not supporting by the system.
• The system support only English and Arabic number for ID3 function.

MP3 track format requirement:

- Bit rate: 32 kbps\~320kbps, sampling rate: 32kHz, 44.1kHz and 48 kHz decodable

- The performance of playing MP3 Disc is various from the quality of recording disc and the method of recording. Furthermore, the searching lead-time for MP3-CD is longer than normal CD due to difference format.

- Repeat/Random mode

Press the "Play Mode" button during playback to select repeat and random function. A single track, all the tracks repeat or folder repeat (MP3 only) and random can be played in difference mode as follow:

- Repeat play

You can listen to the desired track, folder (for MP3 only) or whole disc repeat by this function.

- Random play

You can listen to all the tracks in a random order by this function.

CD programming

Up to 20 tracks can be programmed for disc play in any order. Before use, be sure that the unit is in Stop mode.

1. Set the unit in CD mode and stop the CD playback.
2. Press the "Mem/Clk-Adj" button and "MEM" will appear on LCD display.
3. Select a desired track by pressing skip up ▶ or down ◀◀ button.
4. Press the "Mem/Clk-Adj" button to store the track into memory.

5. Repeat the steps 3 and 4 to enter additional tracks into the memory if necessary.

6. When all the desired tracks have been programmed, press "Play/Pause ▶" button to play the disc in assigned order.

7. Press the "Stop ■" button to stop playback, press Stop button again to clear all stored tracks in the memory.
   The programming mode will automatically stop if no button is being pressed in a period of about 10 seconds.

USB

Connecting

The system is able to decode and playback all MP3 file which stored in the memory media with USB connecting port.

1. Set the system at standby mode first or other function except USB mode.
2. Plug-in the USB pen-drive in the USB jack at the front side of the unit.
3. Press the Function button to select the "USB mode.
4. The system will start reading the storage media automatically after connecting and the LCD display will show the total number of folder and MP3 files being detected and start to playback automatically.
5. The playback procedure is the same as playing CD/MP3 disc.

Remark

• The system can detect and read the file under MP3 format only at USB mode but no other music file format.
• If connect the system to MP3 player via the USB socket, due to variances in MP3 encoding format, some MP3 player may not be able to play via the USB socket. This is not a malfunction of the system.
• USB port does not support connection with USB extension cable and is not designed for communication with computer directly.

Removing of USB

To remove the USB storage media, change the function mode to CD, Aux or Tuner first and the remove the USB stick.

ENCODING

The system is able to encode normal CD, Tuner, BT or Aux file to MP3 format and recording at memory media with USB connecting port.

CD encoding

1. Perform normal playback of the CD track you want to encode & record.
2. Press "bulleton during the playback of the desire track and the display will show "REC" and "USB" flashing.
3. Press "● REC" button again the display will show "REC" and "ONE" flashing.
4. Press "● REC" button again, the system will flashing with "REC USB" icon. Encoding is performing now.

5. After completing of recording, the unit will stop playback automatically.

6. Press "Stop ■" button to interrupt the recording mode anytime.

7. For encode a whole CD, please set the CD in stop mode. Then press “● REC” button three times until in the display flashes “REC USB”. The unit will start the playback and encoding whole disc.

Remark:

• The recording speed is 1:1 and according to the actual plying time of the cd track
• The recording format is preset at bit rate: 128 kbps, sampling rate: 44.1khz
• Press "Stop" Button to interrupt the recording mode at any time.

Copying of MP3 file

If putting a MP3 disc instead of a CD-disc, the system will copy the files to the USB if press the "button. The operation procedures are the same as by CD encoding as stipulate on above. And the system will switch to copying mode only if MP3 file being read.

DAB encoding

1. Set the unit in DAB mode and search the desired radio station which you want to encode.
2. Press the "● REC" button twice until in the display will flashing the "REC USB" icon. Encoding is now performing.
3. After finish of recoding press "Stop ■" button until the symbol "REC USB" will disappear.

Aux /Phono/BT Encoding

1. Plug in the USB pen drive for recording (make sure it has enough empty space).
2. Set the unit to your desired encoding mode by pressing the function button on "PHONO" mode or Aux or BT. Then press the "●button twice."
3. On the LCD display will flash the "REC USB" icon. Now the system is starting the encoding mode.
4. Start the playback of your phono, external Aux or BT device.
5. Press the "Stop ■" button to finish the recording and the symbol "REC USB" will disappear.

Track separation (On remote control only)

You can separate the recorded music from phono / radio / BT to USB stick song by song while recording. Each time you press the "T5" button, a new title starts. This function is used for digital title separation via analog media.

File delete at USB (by remote control)

The system is able to erase the file stored inside the USB pen drive by following:

1. Insert the media storage and set at "USB" mode.
2. Press the "delete" button and the LCD display will show (Del ---T001)
3. Press skip forward or skip backward button to select the file going to delete
4. Press the "delete" button to enter "yes/no" mode and then press skip forward ▶ or skip backward ▶ to select "yes" or "no".
5. Press the "delete" button again to confirm the setting.

Remark:

Press "Stop ■button once at remote control to quite delete mode.

PHONO

Operation

• Remove the stylus protector
• Be sure that the tone arm is being detached from the tone arm rest before operating and re-secured again afterwards

IMPORTANT before use:

The device has a transport protection!

Rotate this with a coin or a screwdriver (Clockwise to the right) completely!

1. Select the "Phono" mode by pressing the function button.
2. Set the speed selector to the position corresponding to the record.
3. Place the record on the turntable (use the spindle adaptor if required).
4. Set the tone arm lever to the up position.
5. Lift the tone arm from the rest and slowly move it to the record side. The turntable will start to rotate. Position the tone arm over the desired position of the record.
6. Pull down the tone arm lever. The tone arm will come slowly on the record and start the playback.
7. At the end of record, the tone arm will return to the rest position automatically.
8. To stop manually the playback, lift the tone arm from the record and return it to the rest.

- Playback Play/Pause

Set the tone arm lever to the up position, the tone arm will lift up and the playback will be interrupted. Set the tone arm lever to the down position, the tone arm will be lowered and the playback will be continued.

Remark:

• Due to the transport, it is possible that the automatic turntable deactivation was influenced during the first start-up. This means that the tone arm automatically moves back to the tone arm holder during the first operation. This is not a mistake!
• Due to the different length of the record, it is possible that the tone arm does not automatically return to the tone arm mount. Please adjust your turntable as described below.

Important:

To ensure that the turntable can play all the different records, there is an opening on the back of the unit labeled "NO OPEN", with the screw to adjust the turntable.

If the record turns off too soon, take a screwdriver and turn the screw in the opening clockwise (to the right) about 45^ . Repeat this step until the record turns off at the correct point. If the record turns off too late, take a screwdriver and turn the screw counterclockwise (to the left) about 45^

BLUETOOTH®

1. Press Function button to select the "BT" (Bluetooth) mode.
2. On the LCD display the Bluetooth icon will flashing. It means the BT is in non-connection/searching mode.
3. Switch on the Bluetooth feature of your BT device (such as mobile phone) and select the unit "NR50".
4. After the connecting is finished and connected successfully, the Bluetooth icon will change to light up on the LCD display.
5. Start the playback on your BT device and enjoy the music by the main unit.

AUX-IN

Connect another audio device, e.g. (portable) CD player, MP3 player, (portable) cassette player, iPod, etc. to this system with a cable with 3.5mm diameter jack plugs (not supplied). Connect one end of this cable to the headphone jack of the external device and the other end to the aux-in jack at the front side of the unit. Then press the Function button to select the "AUX" mode. Start to playback your external device and enjoy your music.

SLEEP

1. Press the "Sleep" button. "SLP-120" will be shown on the LCD display.
2. Press the button repeatedly to adjust the sleep timer in the order of 120 > 90 > 60 > 45 > ....15 minutes respectively and the sleep icon "Z" will flashing on LCD.
3. The unit will stop and go in standby mode automatically after running the selected time.
4. To cancel the sleep mode, press the "Sleep" button until "SLP-off" is displayed and the "Z" indicator disappear on LCD display.

TIMER / ALARM

This function allows the system to turn on automatically and wake you up by CD, DAB, FM, USB mode respectively.

First, set the unit in standby mode and then press & hold the "Timer" button to enter the setting mode. The LCD display will show "SET TIMER" and change to "SELECT SOURCE and timer" and the @icon will flash on display:

1. Wake up source: press the "Function" button repeatedly to select the source from "DAB" -- "FM" -- "CD" -- "USB". Press the "Timer" button to confirm the selected source.
2. Wake up volume: press the "Skip up ▶/ down ◀◀" button to adjust the wake up volume level. Then press the "Timer" button to confirm the wake up level.
3. Wake up time: press "Skip up ▶▶/ down ◀◀" button to set the hour & then press the "Timer" button to enter the hours. Press "Skip up ▶▶/ down ◀◀" button to set minutes and press "Timer" button to store the memory.

Remark

If there is no music source being detected (such as USB/CD) when the preset time is reached, the unit will select the FM mode automatically.
For FM or DAB radio wake up, the system will preset the latest radio frequency being listened before switching off.
➢ Please switch off the system manually during alarm wake up mode as because the system will not turn off automatically after alarm on mode.

Active/de-active timer function

1. To active the timer, press once the "Timer" button on remote handset until the timer indicator "②is shown on LCD display.
