First Time Use
When switched on for the first time the appliance may emit a slight odour. This is normal and will disperse within a few minutes.
- Wash the cooking pot and glass lid in hot soapy water. Rinse well in clear water and dry carefully.
- Wipe the cooker body with a damp cloth containing a small amount of diluted detergent. Remove all traces of detergent with a cloth damped with clean water then dry thoroughly.
- Check that the voltage marked on the rating plate at the bottom of the appliance is the same as the voltage in your area.

The cooking pot supplied with this rice cooker must not be used in a conventional oven, on a cooking hob, in a microwave oven or on any form of direct heat other than this rice cooker.

Operation
- Do not rinse rice in the cooking pot.
- Place the appliance on a stable and flat surface.
- Measure the desired amount of rice with the supplied measuring cup.
- Place the cooking pot in the base then add water (follow your rice brands instructions for the correct amount of water to add). Do not add water higher than the maximum water line.
- Water may be added into the cooking pot according to the water gauge on the cooking pot. The gauge on the left corresponds to the number of cup of rice. The gauge on the right corresponds to the volume of rice (in litre).
- Wipe the outer surface of the cooking pot. Make sure the outer surface is dry before putting into the unit.
- Check and make sure the cooking pot is sitting in the unit properly and evenly.

When using the steam basket:
- Pour an appropriate amount of water in the cooking pot. The amount of water varies according to the type and quantity of food to be steamed. Make sure that the water level does not reach up to the steam basket.
-
Place the steam basket into the cooking pot. You may place the food directly onto the basket or on a plate placed in the basket. Spread the food evenly to ensure even steaming.
-

-
When cooking has finished the control lever will pop up, and the cooker will automatically start 'Keeping Warm'. The WARM indicator will illuminate. Keep the lid shut for a further 10-15 minutes to completely cook the rice. Stir rice to prevent it from sticking.
