Frequently Asked Questions - 70 IF EICO

How do I switch on the hob?
Press the ON/OFF key (A). The displays show the symbol 0 with a blinking LED. You must select a cooking zone within 10 seconds, otherwise the hob switches off automatically.
Why does my cooking zone display a symbol instead of a power level?
This indicates pan detection issues. Possible causes: 1) The pan is not suitable for induction. 2) The pan diameter is smaller than the minimum (110 mm). 3) No pan is present. Ensure you use ferromagnetic cookware with a flat base.
How do I use the Booster function?
Select the cooking zone, slide to increase power, then press the Booster key (E). The display shows P. The booster runs for 10 minutes for rapid heating.
Can I set a timer to turn off a zone automatically?
Yes. Select the zone, adjust power, press Timer key (F). Use the slider to set minutes (1-99). Confirm by pressing F twice (for <10 min) or once after setting. The zone will switch off and a beep sounds.
What is the Keep Warm function?
Press Keep Warm key (D) after selecting a zone. You can toggle between 42°C and 70°C. The display shows the temperature and a line below.
How do I lock the control panel?
Switch on the hob, then simultaneously press the lower right display B and key E. After a beep, press the lower right B again. All displays show L. To unlock, repeat the process.
What does the residual heat indicator look like?
After switching off a zone, if its temperature is above 50°C, the display shows _i. This indicates a burn risk. It disappears when the surface cools down.
How do I clean the hob?
Use a scraper (supplied optionally) to remove food residues and melted plastics/sugar. Then clean with suitable products and a paper towel, finishing with water and a clean cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals.
What should I do if the hob surface is cracked?
Immediately turn off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains to avoid electric shock. Do not use until repaired by a qualified professional.
How do I install the hob correctly?
The hob is designed for built-in installation. Cut a worktop opening (see Fig.1 in manual), apply sealing material along the perimeter, and fix with 4 supports. If an oven is below, ensure proper insulation. Electrical connection must be done by a qualified electrician following the wiring diagram.

TIPS ON SAVING ENERGY

  • Use a lid whenever possible to minimise heat loss.
  • Select a smaller pan when cooking small quantities. A smaller pan uses less energy than a larger pan with very little in it.
    • Cook with as little water as possible.
  • Once food has come to the boil or the oil in the pan is hot enough for frying, reduce the heat to a lower setting.
  • Use a pressure cooker to reduce cooking times.
