How do I use the multimixer for the first time?

Before first use, wash and dry all parts that will contact food. Place the base unit on a flat, dry surface. Fit the blade unit onto a beaker, then place it on the drive shaft. Press down to operate the motor. Refer to the manual for detailed steps.

How long can the motor run continuously?

The motor should not run for more than 1 minute at a time to prevent overheating. If processing takes longer, take a short break before restarting.

What should I do if the motor stops due to overheating?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down for several hours before using again. Ensure the vents are not blocked.

Can I put the blade unit in the microwave?

No, the blade unit contains metal parts and must not be used in a microwave, as it can damage the oven. Only the preparation beakers are microwave safe (without lids).

How do I clean the base unit?

Do not immerse the base unit in water. Wipe it with a slightly damp cloth and a little detergent if needed. Ensure it is completely dry before use.

How do I lock the motor for continuous operation?

Press the beaker down and turn it clockwise until the pins lock under the black edge. To stop, turn anticlockwise to release.

What if the blade gets stuck?

Unplug immediately. Remove the beaker and shake it or tap it gently. If still stuck, carefully turn the blade by hand (blade is sharp). Ensure it moves freely before reassembling.

Are all parts dishwasher safe?

The blender jug, preparation beakers, and loose parts are dishwasher safe. The blade unit is also dishwasher safe, but check that the plastic sealing ring remains in place after washing. The base unit must be wiped clean only.

Can I use the multimixer for grinding coffee beans?

The manual mentions grinding as a function, so it is likely suitable for coffee beans. However, ensure not to exceed the maximum capacity and avoid running for more than 1 minute. Check the consistency after short pulses.

What is the warranty coverage?

To get the best out of your new multimixer, please read through these instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time. We also recommend that you keep the instructions for future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions of your multimixer. You can use your multimixer to chop and blend ingredients, cook food in a microwave oven and then store the completed dish in the refrigerator in one and the same container. Quick and easy – as seen on TV!

SAFETY MEASURES

Normal use of the multimixer

• Incorrect use of the multimixer may cause personal injury and damage to the machine.
• Use the multimixer for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer is not responsible for any injury or damage resulting from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee Terms).
• Use only the accompanying utensils to avoid damage to the product or personal injury.
• The Multimixer is only suitable for a 230 V, 50 Hz connection.
• The multimixer or cord must not be immersed in water or any other liquid. Make sure that no liquid gets into the multimixer.
  • Do not operate with wet or damp hands.
• Never leave the multimixer unattended when in use and keep an eye on children.
• Never touch the moving parts. Keep hands and kitchen utensils away from the blade while the multimixer is in use. Take care when cleaning the blade, as it is extremely sharp.
• Always fit the blade unit onto the preparation beaker/blender jug before placing the assembled sections onto the base unit.
• Do not leave the multimixer running for more than 1 minute at a time when blending, chopping, etc., as the motor can overheat.
• The blade unit must not be used in a microwave oven as the metal parts can cause damage to the oven. The preparation beakers are suitable for use in a microwave oven. The airtight storage lids are not suitable for use in a microwave oven.
• The multimixer is not suitable for commercial or outdoor use.

Positioning the multimixer

• Always place the multimixer at the back of the kitchen counter.
- Place the multimixer on a dry, flat and even surface.
- Do not place the multimixer next to hot areas, for example, gas rings and electric hotplates.
- Do not allow the cord to hang over the edge of a table/counter, and keep it away from hot objects and naked flames.

Cord, plug and mains socket

• Check regularly that the cord or plug is not damaged and do not use the multimixer if it is, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any other way.
• If the multimixer, cord or plug is damaged, the multimixer must be inspected and, if necessary, repaired by an authorised repair engineer. If not, there is a risk of electric shock. Never try to repair the appliance yourself.
• Unplug the multimixer before changing accessories or cleaning, and when the appliance is not in use.
• Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold the plug.
• Check that it is not possible to pull or trip over the multimixer cord or any extension cord.

PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Place the base unit on a flat surface, e.g. a kitchen counter, and make sure it is standing firmly. Before using the multimixer for the first time, or after prolonged storage without use, wash and dry any parts that will come into contact with food.

USING THE MULTIMIXER

Multimixer parts

The base unit (3) contains a motor. You can fit different accessories onto the drive shaft of the base unit, depending on the type of food you want to prepare. Use the blade unit (7) to chop, grate, blend, stir, grind and whip foods either in the jug (6) or in the preparation beakers (4). The preparation beakers can also be used to cook or reheat food in a microwave oven or to store leftovers in the fridge. Two storage lids (5) are supplied for this reason. However, the storage lids are not suitable for use in a microwave oven.

Use of preparation beakers

• Place food in one of the preparation beakers.
• Screw the blade unit onto the beaker.
• Place the beaker on the drive shaft on the base unit, so the pins on the beaker are lined up with the depressions in the base unit.
• Hold the base unit down with one hand and press down on the beaker with the other hand.

The motor runs as long as you press the beaker down. You can also get the motor to run continuously by pressing the beaker down and turning it slightly in a clockwise direction until the pins lock into place under the black edge of the base unit. Stop the motor by turning the beaker slightly in an anti-clockwise direction to release the pins. See also "Preparation Techniques" below.

Using the blender jug

• Screw the blade unit onto the blender jug.
• Place the food in the blender jug.
• Place the lid (1) on the blender jug, and turn it in a clockwise direction until it clicks into place.
• Place the cap (2) in the hole in the blender jug lid, so the pins on the cap fit into the holes in the lid. Turn the cap slightly in a clockwise direction until it clicks into place.
• Place the blender jug on the drive shaft on the motor unit, so the pins on the beaker are lined up with the depressions in the base unit.
  • Start the multimixer as described above.

If you want to add more ingredients as you go along, you can remove the cap from the lid by turning the cap anti-clockwise and lifting it up. Stop the multimixer before removing the cap to avoid splashes. If you need to scrape inside or empty the blender beaker, wait until the blade has stopped completely before removing the lid! Never use your fingers to scrape with.

Important! Never leave the multimixer running for more than 1 minute at a time, as the motor can overheat. If the preparation process requires longer than this, take a short break before starting the multimixer again. You should also stop the multimixer at regular intervals to check whether the items have been processed sufficiently. If the motor overheats and stops running, unplug the multimixer and allow it cool down for several hours before using it again.

Important! If the blade gets stuck while the motor is running continuously, unplug the multimixer immediately to prevent damage to the motor. Remove the beaker fitted with the blade unit from the base unit, and shake the ingredients in the beaker thoroughly. If the blade is still stuck, unscrew the blade unit from the beaker and carefully turn the blade round using your fingers. Be careful - the blade is extremely sharp! Once you are sure the blade can go round, fit the blade unit into the beaker, place the beaker onto the base unit and try again.

Important! If the multimixer is to be used to prepare different types of food (e.g. raw meat followed by vegetables, or egg followed by fruit), you must wash the parts that come into contact with food between each type of food.

Preparation techniques

Pulse technique – If you want the food to be chopped or blended coarsely, then instead of holding the beaker down, press it down briefly and intermittently a number of times with short breaks between. Take care not to lock the beaker into position, or the motor will run continuously.

Shaking technique – If the blade is not distributing the food properly in the beaker, you can lock the beaker into position so the motor is running continuously, lift the entire multimixer up from the counter and shake it back and forth a few times so the food shifts position in the beaker. Then put the multimixer back on the counter and let it run a little longer. Be very careful when you use the shaking technique! Hold both beaker and base unit firmly to prevent them separating from each other while you are shaking them.

Shake and pulse technique – If you want the food to be chopped or blended coarsely, you can lift the entire multimixer up from the counter and give it a powerful shake downwards, concluding the movement by briefly pressing the beaker down (pulse function). This sends the food down onto the blades. Continue until the food shows the desired consistency. Be very careful when using the shake and pulse technique! Hold both beaker and base unit firmly to prevent them separating from each other while you are shaking them.

Tapping technique – If the food sticks to the inside of the beaker and is unable to reach the blade, you can take the beaker with the blade unit fitted off the base unit and tap it gently against the kitchen counter so that the food falls down onto the blade. Then return the beaker to the base unit and continue to process the food.

Important! Do not use techniques other than the pulse technique when the blender jug is fitted.

Cooking in a microwave oven

The two preparation beakers are suitable for use in a microwave oven. When you have finished chopping or blending food in the preparation beaker, all you have to do is screw the blade unit off the beaker. Then the beaker can be placed in the microwave. Storage lids are not suitable for use in a microwave oven.

Take care when removing the beaker from the microwave oven as the contents may be extremely hot. For larger portions it may be necessary to mix in the ingredients as you go along.

Important! The blade unit is not suitable for use in a microwave oven as the metal parts can cause damage to the oven. The airtight storage lids are not suitable for use in a microwave oven.

Storage

Ensure that the multimixer is clean and dry before storing.

CLEANING

• Before cleaning, remove the plug from the wall socket.

• The best way to clean the exterior of the multimixer base unit is with a slightly dampened cloth and, if necessary, a little detergent. The base unit must not be immersed in any form of liquid.

• If the blade unit is not properly screwed into place, liquids may seep out and into the inside of the base unit. Liquid residues may be removed using a slightly dampened cloth and a little detergent. Check that the base unit is thoroughly dry inside before you use the multimixer again after cleaning.

• The blender jug, the preparation beakers and all remaining loose parts are washable by hand and dishwasher-safe.
• Inside the blade unit, there is a plastic sealing ring, which may become loose if the unit is put through a dishwasher. Therefore, please check that the sealing ring is still in place when you remove the blade unit from the dishwasher.
  • Take care when washing the blade unit by hand as the blade is extremely sharp.
• Do not use any kind of strong or abrasive cleaning agent on the multimixer or accessories. Never use a scouring sponge or similar to clean the multimixer, as the surface may be damaged.

ENVIRONMENTAL TIPS

Once any electrical product is no longer functional, it should be disposed of in such a way as to cause minimum environmental impact, in accordance with the regulations of your local authority. In most cases you can take such products to your local recycling station.

This product is fitted with a BS 1363 13-amp plug. If you have to replace the fuse, only those that are ASTA or BSI approved to BS1362 and with a rated current of 13 amps should be used. If there is a fuse cover fitted, this cover must be refitted after changing the fuse. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged, the plug must not be used. You must also check if the socket outlets in your home fit with the plug of the appliance. If the socket outlet in your home does not fit with the plug, the plug must be removed and disposed of safely as insertion of the plug into the socket is likely to cause electric hazard.

As this product is a class II appliance, the pin of BS plug for earth connection is false.
