The declared vibration value, which has been measured by a standardised test method, can be used to compare different tools with each other and for a preliminary assessment of exposure.
Warning: The actual vibration level when using power tools may differ from the specified maximum value, depending on how the tool is used. It is therefore necessary to determine which safety precautions are required to protect the user, based on an estimate of exposure in actual operating conditions (taking into account all stages of the work cycle, e.g. the time when the tool is switched off and when it is idling, in addition to the start-up time).

OPERATION
Intended use
The auger is designed for drilling holes in earth for fence posts, porch brackets, planting plants, etc. It must always be used with both hands. The auger may only be used for vertical drilling.
Non-intended uses
The earth auger should not be used for drilling in ice, very rocky soils or in areas where there are water pipes, gas pipes, electrical cables or telephone lines.
Other risks
Even when all safety precautions have been taken, there are risks that cannot be predicted, such as:
- access to the rotating drill bit
- unexpected breakdown can lead to strain on the arms and hands
- material can travel up from the borehole.
Before use
Place the auger on the tool's output shaft. Attach the drill with bolt and nut.
Use
If you use an extension cord, ensure that it is the right size and designed for outdoor use. Also make sure that it is not in the way when drilling.
- Place the earth auger in a vertical position at the drilling site.
- Place your feet securely away from the drill.
- Place your hands on the auger's handles.
- Push in the start lock and power switch.
- Apply gentle pressure to the handles to increase the drilling force. Lift the drill bit at regular intervals to ease up the loose soil from the borehole.
- Do not press too hard on the handles. The earth auger does not work better under hard pressure.
Note:
- Do not use the earth auger to drill ice.
• Do not use the earth auger to drill in soil that is very rocky.
MAINTENANCE
Note: Make sure the earth auger is disconnected from the mains when carrying out maintenance and service.
- Clean the motor housing with a soft cloth moistened with mild soapy water. Wipe the motor housing dry.
- Rinse off the drill with water. The drill must not be attached to the tool shaft when cleaning as there is a risk that water will enter the motor housing.
• The motor housing must not be cleaned with ammonia, or chlorine-based or abrasive cleaners.
• The motor housing must not be cleaned with kerosene, petroleum or similar products either.
• Store the earth auger in a dry, locked room out of the reach of children.
