Safety
- The waffle maker may be used by children of 8 years and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capability or lack of experience and knowledge provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Never let children play with the waffle maker. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- The waffle maker may not be controlled by an external timer or any type of remote control.
- This waffle maker is only intended for normal household use.
- The waffle maker should only be used as described in this instruction manual.
- The waffle maker should be placed on a dry, flat and heat-resistant surface. Make sure that there is ample space above and below the waffle maker for air to circulate.
- Bear in mind that the waffle maker will become very hot during use. Touch only the handles during use.
- Bear in mind that hot steam will escape when the lid is lifted.

Keep an eye on the waffle maker if you are using it in the vicinity of children.

Do not touch the waffle maker or the lead if your hands are wet.
- Do not expose the waffle maker to moisture, knocks or blows. Never use the waffle maker if you have dropped it on the floor, left it outdoors or dropped it in water.
- Check that your power supply corresponds to the specifications of the waffle maker listed on the rating plate and that it is connected to an earthed socket.
- Do not pull or carry the waffle maker by the lead. Do not use the lead as a handle and do not let it fasten in door jambs. Do not pull it around sharp corners and edges or over warm surfaces, such as a warm hob.
- This waffle maker is only intended to be used and stored indoors.
- The mains lead should be checked regularly. Never use the waffle maker if the mains lead or plug is damaged.
- The mains lead must be changed if damaged. This is to prevent the risk of electric shock or fire and should only be carried out by the manufacturer, qualified service facility or qualified technician.
- Do not open the housing. Certain uninsulated components inside the housing carry dangerous voltages. Contact with these components could result in electric shock.
- The waffle maker should not be taken apart or modified. The waffle maker should only be repaired by qualified service personnel.
- Always unplug the waffle maker from the wall socket before cleaning.
- Never immerse the waffle maker in water or other liquids. This could result in potentially lethal electric shocks.
- Always unplug the waffle maker from the power point when it is not in use.

• The indicator light comes on when the waffle maker is plugged in.
• The indicator light goes out when the waffle maker reaches cooking temperature.
Before initial use
- Remove all wrapping from the waffle maker and completely uncoil the power lead.
- Open the waffle maker and wipe the griddle plates with a damp cloth. Then wipe them with a dry cloth.
- When the waffle maker is used for the first time it may emit a strange odour. This is completely normal and will disappear after the waffle maker has been used a few times.
Operating instructions
- Plug the waffle maker into a wall socket; the red indicator light will come on.
- Apply a little cooking fat or oil to the griddle plates.
- When the waffle iron has reached a suitable temperature for making waffles the indicator light will go out and you may start cooking.

Lift the lid all the way up using the handle and pour the prepared waffle batter onto the lower griddle plate. Make sure that the batter is evenly spread and doesn't run out over the edges of the griddle plate.

Close the lid to start making the waffle. The indicator light will come on and go off during use to let you know that the thermostat is working, this is completely normal.
- Cook the batter for about 2–3 minutes depending on the consistency of the batter and the temperature of the waffle maker. Do not lift the lid during the first minute of making the waffle.
- Open the waffle maker and remove the cooked waffle using a wooden or heat-resistant plastic spatula. Do not use metal utensils such as knives, forks, etc. This is to avoid scratching and damaging the non-stick coating on the griddle plate.
- Pour in more batter to make more waffles.
- After use, leave the lid open and unplug the waffle maker from the power socket. Let the waffle maker cool before cleaning it.
Care and maintenance
- Always unplug the waffle maker and let it cool down completely before cleaning it.
- Clean the outside and inside of the waffle maker using a brush or soft cloth.
- Do not use metal utensils such as knives, forks, etc. This is to avoid scratching and damaging the non-stick coating on the griddle plate.
Caution!
Never immerse the waffle maker in water or other liquids. This could damage the waffle maker and result in potentially lethal electric shocks.
Storage
Let the waffle maker cool down before putting it away for storage. Coil the mains lead carefully to avoid kinking it. Store the waffle maker in a cool and dry place indoors.
Disposal
This waffle maker should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. If you are unsure how to proceed, contact your local council.
