Frequently Asked Questions - NW-12L Clas Ohlson

How do I use the waffle maker for the first time?
Remove all packaging, uncoil the lead, open the appliance and wipe the plates with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Plug in and let it heat up. The first use may produce a slight odor, which is normal.
Why do the indicator lights go on and off during cooking?
This is normal. The thermostat cycles to maintain the correct temperature. The red light shows power; the green light indicates when it's ready and will go off and on as the thermostat works.
Can I use metal utensils to remove the waffles?
No. Use only a wooden or heat-resistant plastic spatula to avoid scratching the non-stick coating. Metal utensils like knives or forks will damage the surface.
How do I clean the waffle maker?
Always unplug and let it cool completely. Clean with a soft brush or cloth. Do not immerse in water or use metal utensils. Wipe the plates with a damp cloth if needed.
What should I do if the power cord is damaged?
Do not use the appliance. The cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a qualified electrician to avoid hazards.
Can children use this waffle maker?
Children aged 8 and above may use it only if supervised and instructed on safe use. Children under 8 should be kept away from the appliance and its cord.
Where should I place the waffle maker during use?
Place it on a dry, flat, heat-resistant surface with ample space above and below for air circulation. Ensure the cord does not hang over edges.
How do I store the waffle maker?
Store in a dry, dust-free place out of reach of children. Allow it to cool completely before storing.
What type of batter is recommended?
Any standard waffle batter works. Be careful not to overfill; spread evenly to avoid overflow. Cooking time is about 3 minutes but may vary with batter thickness.
How should I dispose of the waffle maker?
Follow local regulations for disposal of electrical appliances. Contact your local council if unsure.
