Frequently Asked Questions - 8610D Pesukarhu UPO

How do I install the washing machine correctly?
Ensure the machine is on a level surface. Remove transport bolts, connect water inlet hose to cold water tap, drain hose to a standpipe or sink, and plug into a grounded outlet. Level the feet to prevent vibration.
What should I do if the machine does not start?
Check that the door is closed properly, the water supply is turned on, the drain hose is not kinked, and the machine is plugged in. Also ensure the circuit breaker has not tripped.
How can I clean the lint filter?
Open the filter cover at the bottom front, unscrew the filter, remove lint and debris, rinse under running water, then reinstall firmly. Do this monthly.
What is the maximum load capacity?
The maximum dry load is 6 kg for cotton programs. Overloading may cause poor washing results and increase noise. Refer to program chart for specific loads.
How do I use the delay start feature?
Press the 'Delay Start' button repeatedly to set the desired delay time (1-24 hours). The display will show the delay time. Close the door and press Start/Pause. The machine will begin after the delay.
Why is the spin cycle very noisy?
Check for uneven load distribution. If the laundry is bunched, redistribute it manually. Also ensure the machine is leveled and transport bolts are removed. Unbalanced load detection may slow the spin.
How do I activate the child lock?
Press and hold the 'Child Lock' button (or combination of buttons indicated in the manual) for 3 seconds. A symbol appears on the display. To deactivate, repeat the process.
What does the 'E1' error code mean?
Error code E1 indicates a water inlet problem. Check that the water tap is fully open, the inlet hose is not kinked, and the water pressure is sufficient. Also clean the inlet filter.
Can I use the machine with a hot water supply?
No, this model is designed for cold water connection only. Connecting to hot water may damage the machine and void the warranty.
How often should I run a drum cleaning cycle?
Run the 'Drum Clean' program every 2-3 months to prevent mold and odor. You can also add a washing machine cleaner for best results.

USE OF THE WASHING MACHINE

UPO 8610D Pesukarhu - USE OF THE WASHING MACHINE - 1

"EASY LOGIC" TECHNOLOGY

The electronic washing machine is fitted with an “EASY LOGIC” system that automatically recognises the quantity of washing loaded. The machine can thus regulate the amount of water to use for the wash and proportion the wash time accordingly, thus saving water, time and energy. In the case where the amount of washing is less than the maximum recommended load (see technical characteristics table), the quantity of water used for the wash will be reduced by 2 litres for each kg less of washing.

In the case of a half-load or less, the machine will automatically carry out one rinse less than programmed.

N.B. The "EASY LOGIC" function is only active for cotton programmes.

WASHING CYCLE:

(If this sequence of operations is followed, the washing machine will carry out the washing cycle that is set)

  1. Open the top lid and drum
  2. Load the washing in the drum and carefully close the drum doors.

Warning: You must not overload the washing machine. It is not recommended to wash articles that absorb a large amount of water, for example carpets.

  1. Add a low-suds detergent and softener designed for automatic washing machines in the respective compartments of the detergent drawer (see chapter "USE OF DETERGENTS").
  2. Close the top lid.
  3. Turn the program selector knob (P) choosing the desired program and temperature to match the type of fabric to be washed (see: PROGRAM TABLES").

N.B. When the knob is set, the duration of the chosen cycle in minutes appears on the display. During the cycle the time shown decreases until 'END' appears, indicating the end of the program.

  1. Choose the desired spin speed pressing button (H) (see "VARIABLE SPIN").
  2. Select the buttons (C) with the functions to be used (see "OPTIONAL FUNCTIONS"). The pressed buttons will light up and the time shown on the display will vary according to the functions that are set.
  3. Press button (I) if required (see "DELAYED START").
  4. Press button (L) to start the washing cycle (see "START BUTTON").
  5. At the end of the wash, turn the program selector knob (P) to "STOP".
  6. Open the top lid and drum doors and remove the washing.
  7. With dry hands, remove the washing machine plug from the mains socket.
  8. Close the water supply tap.

VARIABLE SPIN:

The machine offers a wide choice of spin settings that can be selected before starting the program. To vary the spin setting just press button (H) until the desired value is reached (fi g. 1); if you wish to exclude the spin, press the button until "00" appears on the display (fi g. 2).

N.B. The maximum spin speed varies according to the model and is shown on the machine display. The maximum spin speed that can be selected decreases with the program that is set.

12h 1:00 w is a 203 fig. 1 12h 0 w is a 203 fig. 2

Out of balance spin protection for the load:

This washing machine is equipped with a special electronic control system for the correct balancing of the load. Before each spin, the system makes the clothes arrange themselves in the drum in the most even way possible. In case of irregular distribution of the laundry, for safety reasons the spin speed is reduced and in cases of the load being greatly out of balance, the spin cycle will not be effected.

DISPLAY AND DURATION OF THE WASHING CYCLE:

With each program selected with the knob (P), the corresponding spin speed and the duration of the cycle will appear on the display; this time will decrease until it arrives at zero when the program is finished and "END" appears on the display. At this point it will be possible to take out the laundry.

N.B. In the “Cotton” programs, the duration of the washing cycle initially shown by the display can vary, since it can be affected by various factors such as temperature, water inlet pressure and quantity of laundry loaded in the drum. During the wash, the machine’s electronics will automatically alter the time needed for the cycle set according to these factors, thus achieving the best performance in the best time.

DELAYED START BUTTON:

The machine is equipped with a function that enables you to delay the wash for up to a maximum of 16 hours; each time button (I) is pressed, the display will show the hours to wait from 1...to 16 before the machine begins the washing cycle. When key (L) is pressed, the washing machine will wait the set number of hours and will then automatically begin the washing cycle.

Activation of the delay is indicated by the flashing of the dots on the display.

START BUTTON:

After having carried out all the operations described in points 1 to 8 in the paragraph "WASHING CYCLE" press this button and the washing machine will begin its washing cycle. The relative LED will light up after 2-3 seconds, to indicate that the door is locked and the program has started.

START

"STOP" ON THE PROGRAM SELECTOR:

The function of stop is to reset the washing machine. If for any reason during the washing cycle you decide to vary it, or decide later to add more laundry, all you have to do is turn the knob of the program selector to the "STOP" position, then reset the knob to the new program chosen and press the "START" button.

STOP

Warning!! It is recommended to use this function only if strictly necessary and solely if the program to be reset has started not more than 3 minutes previously. Before being able to open the door after a reset, you must wait 2 minutes for it to be unlocked.

If one of the buttons listed below is selected, its symbol will appear on the display. While if you realize that you have selected it by mistake or you have changed your mind, to cancel the option, press it again.

PRE-WASH:

SPIN PREWASH INTENSIVE

When this button is pressed, a short pre-wash with a maximum temperature of 40^ C lasting for about 10 minutes is provided. This function can only be used on the "COTTON, SYNTHETICS and DAILY" programs.

UPO 8610D Pesukarhu - PRE-WASH: - 2

N.B. If you use this option, the detergent must also be poured into the appropriate compartment for the pre-wash.

INTENSIVE WASH:

PREWASH INTENSIVE EXTRA RINSES

When this button is pressed, the machine will carry out a wash at the set temperature but which lasts longer. This button works on the "COTTON and SYNTHETICS" programs.

ADDITIONAL RINSE:

INTENSIVE EXTRA RINSES ANTICREASE e T-shirt

The washing machine has been built so that water consumption is reduced to a minimum. For areas with very soft water or in the case possible residues of detergent are noticed at the end of the cycle, pressing this button the machine will add three extra rinses.

ANTI-CREASE:

EXTRA RINSES ANTICREASE

When this button is pressed, at the end of the washing cycle the clothes in the washing machine continue to revolve for another thirty minutes reducing creases. With this function the maximum working spin speed is 800 rpm. The function does not work for the "WOOL" program.

N.B. Use of the optional functions is restricted by the type of program chosen; so, if the program does not allow the function, it will not be possible to enable the button (see PROGRAM TABLE).
