Frequently Asked Questions - 246-052 Exido

How do I assemble the food processor?
Place the motor section on a flat surface. Tilt the arm up using the arm release handle. Fit the lid onto the arm and turn left to lock. Place the mixing bowl on the base and turn clockwise to lock. Mount the splash guard on the chosen accessory (dough hook, dough whisk, or balloon whisk) and then attach the accessory to the shaft on the arm. Lower the arm until it clicks into place.
Why won't my food processor start?
The appliance has a safety switch that only allows operation when it is correctly assembled and all parts are securely fixed. If it does not start, check the assembly thoroughly, especially that the lid is properly locked and the bowl is correctly positioned.
Can I wash the mixing bowl in the dishwasher?
Yes, the mixing bowl and all plastic accessories are dishwasher-safe. However, ensure they are not fixed too tightly in the dishwasher to avoid deformation. Other accessories can be cleaned in warm soapy water.
What is the maximum amount of dough I can mix?
The maximum capacity for dough using the dough hook is 1.5 kg flour and 750 ml water. Recommended mixing time is 12 minutes at speed 1 and 8 minutes at speed 2.
Which speed should I use for whisking cream?
For whisking cream or egg whites, use the balloon whisk at speeds 4 or 5. Maximum capacity is 600 ml cream or 8 egg whites, with a maximum time of 10 minutes.
How do I clean the motor section?
First, unplug the appliance and let it cool. Clean the motor section by wiping it with a damp cloth. Do not immerse it in water. For heavy soiling, you can use a little detergent. Avoid scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
Is it safe to use if the cord is damaged?
No. If the cord or plug is damaged, do not use the appliance. Have it inspected and repaired by an authorised repairer. Never try to repair it yourself. Unauthorised repairs will invalidate the guarantee.
What should I do if the appliance is not working?
First, check that the appliance is correctly assembled (the safety switch prevents operation if not). If it still does not work, ensure it is plugged into a 230 V, 50 Hz socket and that the outlet is working. If problems persist, contact the store where you bought it for repairs under guarantee.
Can I use the balloon whisk for kneading?
No. The balloon whisk is only for whisking cream, egg whites, and light mixtures. For kneading heavy dough, use the dough hook. For lighter dough, use the dough whisk.
How do I store the appliance after use?
After cleaning and drying all parts, store the appliance in a dry place. Ensure the motor section and accessories are completely dry before storing. Keep out of reach of children. The cord should not be twisted or wound around the appliance.

USING YOUR KITCHEN APPLIANCE

Assembly

  1. Place the motor section on a flat surface, e.g. a kitchen counter, and make sure it is standing firmly.
  2. Check that the protective cover is fitted in the accessory socket
  3. Tilt down the arm release handle. The arm tilts upwards.
  4. Fit the lid onto the underside of the arm and turn it slightly to the left, so that it locks into position.
  5. Fit the mixing bowl in the recess on the motor section base. Turn the mixing bowl slightly clockwise, so it locks into position.
  6. First mount the splash guard on the dough hook or the dough whisk (see the pictures). Turn the accessory clockwise until the metal pins lock into position.
  7. Then fit the desired accessory onto the accessory shaft on the underside of the arm.

o The dough hook is used for heavy dough, minced meat or other demanding kneading jobs.

o The dough whisk is used to mix lighter types of dough.

o The balloon whisk is used for whisking cream, egg whites, etc.

Turn the accessory, so the pins on the shaft are aligned with the depressions on the accessory's top edge. Press the accessory up towards the arm, turning it at the same time to the right so that the pins slide into position, thus securely locking the accessory in place. The accessory must not be

loose nor should you be able to pull it free.

  1. Lower the arm so that it locks into place with a click. The lid must fit tightly onto the mixing bowl. If not, it is fitted incorrectly.
  2. The appliance is now ready for use.
