Frequently Asked Questions - WT15M-FP2 AOPEN

How do I replace the RAM module?

First, remove the rear cover. Locate the DDR3L SO-DIMM slots. Use both fingers to pull the ejector clips outward, then slide out the old module. Insert the new module at a 45-degree angle and press down until the clips click. Ensure the RAM is 1.35V low voltage.

Can I mount this PC on a VESA arm?

Yes, the system supports standard 100x100mm VESA mount. Use the provided M4 screws (L=3mm) to attach the bracket. Do not use longer screws as they may damage the VESA screw holes.

What touch technology does the screen use?

The touch panel uses PCT (Projected Capacitive Touch) multi-touch supporting up to 10 fingers. It has a surface hardness of ≥7H and can withstand over 20 million pen hits with a 180g load.

How do I install drivers?

Drivers can be downloaded from the AOpen global website: http://global.aopen.com/download.aspx. Select product type 'Digital Engine' or 'eTILE', then choose model WT15M-FP2. Download and run the driver installer. A driver instruction paper is included in the package.

What should I do if there is no screen display?

Check the power cable connection and ensure the power knob is pressed. Verify the power LED at the right rear side is on. If still no display after 3 minutes, remove the power line, wait 1 minute, reconnect and power on again. If the issue persists, contact service.

Can I connect an external monitor?

Yes, the system has an HDMI output connector for dual display. Note that the HDMI port is output only, not input.

What is the maximum RAM capacity?

The system supports up to 8GB of DDR3L memory using two SO-DIMM modules (max 4GB each). Only low voltage 1.35V modules are supported.

Is the power adapter replaceable?

Yes, the power adapter is replaceable. Turn off the system, disconnect the power cable from the DC-in port, and swap the adapter. Use only a 90W AC adapter with 12~19V output.

How do I troubleshoot a system crash?

Ensure thermal air holes are not blocked; keep at least 25.4mm (1 inch) clearance around the system. If additional peripherals are attached, they may be overloading the adapter; try removing them. If the issue persists, check for hardware faults.

What accessories are included in the box?

The package includes the system unit, a 90W power adapter, and a power cord. Other accessories may vary depending on the purchase configuration.

Caution: When you install devices or cables, please removed DC jack at first to prevent inadvertently switched to cause system boot/ damage to system/electric shock. The HDMI connector is output port, not input.

Opening the Rear Cover

Please open the rear cover first then remove and replace the RAM module.

You can refer to the motherboard layout to find the memory compartment.

Swapping a RAM Module

1. Use both fingers to pull the ejector clips out of the sides of the module.
2. Slide the memory module out of the memory slot.

Installing a RAM Module

1. Slide the memory module into the memory slot and press down until the ejector clips click in place.

2. Disconnect the power cable from the I/O panel (DC IN), then can swap the adapter

The system support standard 100x100mm VESA mount, so other VESA mount bracket followed this standard spec can be assembled. Please use the system attached VESA screw - M4, otherwise will be broken system's VESA screw hole.

There is a driver instruction paper in the shipping package, please link to the AOPEN download website.

Step1: Please select the product name as "Digital Engine" or "eTILE".

Step2: Please select the model (you can find the product label on packing carton, or on the back of the product)

Step3: Please select the driver or toolkit.

Step4: Double-click the icon to download it, then execute it to do installation.

Appendix B: Trouble Shotting

No screen

1. Check system power line is connected
2. Please press power knob again to turn on system (please check the power led at right rear side is turned on)

Motherboard

Can't boot on

1. Check the power led at right rear side is turned on, but still no booting screen after 3 minutes.
2. Remove power line, after 1 min, connecting power line and power on system again. If still no booting after 10\~30 sec, please contact with Service guys.

Only the blinking cursor at the upper left of the screen

If blinking cursor is kept after 3 minutes, it might be Motherboard issue. Please contact with Service guys.

Hardware Issue

Please clean out the visual dirty of appearance

DRAM issue

1. Connection is loose, please reinsert DRAM again
2. COMS setting is wrong, please reset as default value
3. DRAM performance is getting worse by time. Please swap a new one.

HDD issue

Please reboot from other booting device. If system is booting without any problem, it shows the hard drive may be crashed. Please swap a new one.

System crash issue

1. The additional peripheral may be over loading for adapter, and this will cause system to turn on or turn off sometime. Please check by removing additional peripheral.

2. If thermal air hole is blocked, it will cause the system can't drop out heated air flow, and then system will be crashed. Please keep clean area over 25.4mm(1 inch) around system air hole.
