  • Always use fresh, ripe fruits and vegetables which will give you more juice. Over-ripened fruit and vegetables will be more difficult to juice and less healthy.
  • Remove the stems and haulms.
  • When pressing juice from currant, it is better to leave the whole cluster of currents.
    – Wash the fruit or vegetables thoroughly.
  • Cut bigger foods into smaller pieces.
  • Remove pits (e.g. with plums, apricots, cherries, etc.)
  • Remove thick skin (e.g. with melons, pineapples, cucumbers, potatoes, beet, celery, etc.).
  • Peel citrus fruits (e.g. orange, lime) and remove white pulp and seeds; otherwise the juice could turn bitter.
  • Foods with thin skin do not need to be peeled (e.g. apples, pears, carrots, radish, parsley).
  • Use fine mesh screen for hard fruits such as carrots, cucumbers, and apples. Use coarse mesh screen for soft fruits such as watermelon, oranges, tomatoes, etc.

Use of the appliance

Place the assembled juicer on a firm, flat and dry surface (see par.I. SAFETY

PRECAUTIONS). Openings in the appliance ensure the flow of air during ventilation and must not be covered or blocked in any way. The feet of the appliance must also not be removed. Make sure that the power supply cord is not damaged and that it does not lead through any sharp or hot surfaces. The socket must be easily accessible so that it would be possible to unplug the appliance immediately in case of danger. Plug the fork of the supply cord A2 into the el. outlet. Turn on the appliance by pressing the START button. Put the prepared ingredients into the feeding neck B1 and press them lightly with the stamper B3 (pic. 5). Do not push hard on the stamper, it could affect quality of the juice or even cause the appliance to stop. Having finished using the appliance by pressing the STOP button, turn it off, and unplug the appliance from the outlet by pulling out the fork of the supply cord from the socket. Plug the juice spout using the plug before removing the pitcher from under the juice spout. This will prevent the juice from dripping on the kitchen worktop.

Notes

Eta Vital Press - Notes - 1

- Do not confuse the function of the juicer with centrifugal juice extractor.

- Choose such amount of food for processing so that it does not exceed the maximum allowed contents of the container marked by a line.

- We recommend suspending work once in a while and removing the pulp which has collected on the sieve (see par. I. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS).

- The pulp will take a while to start coming out of the front of the pulp – this is normal.

- The preparation times depend on amount, kind and quality of the food used and range in tens of seconds.

- Maximum time of continuous operation is 20 minutes, then leave the appliance rest and cool down for approx. 5 min. When squeezing juice from hard food products, do not operate the appliance for longer than 90 seconds and then allow it to cool down completely.

- The maximum weight of fruits and vegetables placed in the Juice Maker should not exceed 500 g for each minute of operation. If the squeezing screw gets stuck or clogged with fruits or vegetables use the “REVERSE” function for 2-3 seconds. If the problem persists, take the appliance apart, clean and re-assemble.

- Do not plug the pulp ejection outlet or the juice spout during appliance operation.

- If you need to empty the pulp container D during the process, turn off the appliance first. Place the container back properly after emptying.

– Clogging will occur if the feed tube is overfilled or food packed too tightly

- If the appliance becomes stuck, turn it off immediately and clean it.

Tips for operation

  • To keep as many vitamins as possible, consume the juice soon.
  • In case you need to keep the juice for several hours, put it in a refrigerator. The juice will stay fresh longer if you add a few drops of lemon juice.
    – Water down the juice for children with same amount of water.
  • In case you need to keep the juice for several hours, put it in a refrigerator. The juice will stay fresh longer if you add a few drops of lemon juice.
  • You can use the pulp for other purposes in the kitchen (e.g. for soups, sauces, etc.).
  • It is necessary to use fresh fruits or vegetables, because the fresh fruits or vegetables contain more juice.
  • It is unnecessary to remove the tender peel or thin peel off the fruits, only the thick peel needs to be removed in advance, e.g.: orange and tangerine, pineapple and raw beet.

  • In juicing apples, the juice thickness depends on the variety of the apple. The more juice an apple contains, the thinner the juice will be. Please choose the apple variety in compliance with your favor. The apple juice will turn yellow very soon, and putting some drops of lemon juice in will prolong the turning-yellow time.

  • Leaf vegetables and their stems can also be juiced, it is necessary to press the propeller slowly.
  • The juicer is not fit for juicing fruits and vegetables that are especially hard, of multiple fivers and contain rich starch, such as sugar cane.
  • The following vegetables are most suitable for beverages: tomatoes, carrots, celery, beetroots, parsley, onions, cabbage, cucumbers, black turnip, rhubarb, etc. For dietary reasons and for great culinary experience you can make juice from lettuce, spinach, leek and even fresh herbs or cooked soybean.
  • Vegetables such as radishes, chives, parsley leaves, dill, watercress should be added to beverages finely chopped.
  • Apples, peaches, apricots and plums should be scalded in boiling water in a colander.
  • Squeezing juice from plums, blueberries, raspberries, soft pears and apples and other fruits may be troublesome. The pulp of these fruits forms spongy mass that clogs the strainer holes. You can make juice from these fruits by adding them in small quantities to other fruits or vegetables but you may need clean the strainer more often.
  • You can add aromatic spices such as pepper, fennel, cumin, nutmeg, thyme, marjoram to vegetable beverages and vanilla, cinnamon and cloves to fruit juices. To get the full flavour of spices, grind them to fine powder before adding to drink. Use spices in small quantities to preserve the natural taste and flavour of the product from which the beverage is prepared. Due to their low nutritional value, beverages made from fruit and vegetable juices are highly recommended for those on a diet.

Good tips

  • To get more juice, push soft foods slowly.
  • To keep as many vitamins as possible, consume the juice soon.
  • In case you need to keep the juice for several hours, put it in a refrigerator. The juice will stay fresh longer if you add a few drops of lemon juice.
    – Water down the juice for children with same amount of water.

IV. TABLE FOR THE USAGE

Please consider the following cooking tips as examples and as inspiration. Their purpose is not to be a complete guide, but to demonstrate the possibilities of various food preparation methods. Chose the amount of ingredients to be processed so that the maximum content of the containers marked by a line is not exceeded. A larger amount of processed ingredients must be divided into several batches and the contents of the container should be regularly inspected.

Food Accessories Amount (g) Time ca. (min)Preparation
Apples fine mesh screen 1 000 2:30 1/4
Grapes coarse mesh screen 1 0003:30 -
Orange coarse mesh screen 1 000 2:30 peeled

V. MAINTENANCE

Rinsing before reuse / quick cleaning (fig. 6)

If you want to rinse the appliance before changing the sort of fruits (for example), first switch the appliance off and then replace the juice container. Cover the juice outlet B9 by the cap. Pour clear water through the filling holes in container B up to 450 ml gauge mark. Then for 10 seconds press REVERSE button. After finishing the cycle, discharge the water containing impurities. Most of the gross pulp remnants will be rinsed off. If you are not going to continue juicing, please apply the cleaning procedure as described below.

Unplug the appliance from the electric outlet before each maintenance and cleaning by pulling out the fork of the supply cord from the socket! Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents (e.g. sharp objects, diluents or other dissolvents)!

Thoroughly wash the appliance after each use, preventing any juice or residual fruit or vegetable pulp from drying. Clean the propulsion unit A with a soft, damp cloth. Wash the other removable accessories immediately after use in hot water with soap, rinse them with clean water and let dry (use the dish washer). Remove residue from crevices or corners using and sieve drive B6 may be easily cleaned with the brush E. Take care not to damage the sieve mesh during cleaning. Some fruits may discolour the accessories. This has, however, no effect on the functions of the appliance and this discoloration will usually disappear with time. This change in no way changes the properties of the surface and is not a reason for complaint about the appliance! Never dry the plastic die-cast over a heat source (e.g. stove, el./gas cooker). Take care that the binding surfaces and the sealing elements are functional.

How to replace the sealing elements

If the sealing elements and the wiping blades are worn out or damaged, replace them with new ones (of the same type). Please proceed according to Fig. 7. You can buy the respective sealing elements as a spare part in the elektro shops.
