Frequently Asked Questions - FS2TH Ferguson

How do I install the FS2TH thermostat?
First, turn off power at the breaker. Remove old thermostat and label wires. Mount the new wall plate using the included screws. Connect wires to matching terminals (RC, RH, G, W/E, Y, C, Y2, O/B/W2) per the wiring diagram. Attach thermostat to wall plate, restore power, and follow on-screen setup.
Do I need a C-wire for the FS2TH?
A C-wire (common wire) is recommended for reliable operation. If you don't have one, the thermostat may still work with some systems using power stealing, but compatibility is not guaranteed. Check manual for alternative wiring.
How do I connect the thermostat to Wi-Fi?
On the thermostat, go to Wi-Fi settings, scan for networks, select your 2.4 GHz network, enter password. If successful, register the device in the Ferguson Home app using the MAC ID and verification code shown on the thermostat.
Can I control the thermostat remotely?
Yes, after connecting to Wi-Fi and registering in the Ferguson Home app, you can adjust temperature, view status, and change schedules from anywhere via the app.
How do I reset the FS2TH to factory defaults?
Go to Menu > Settings > Reset. Confirm to erase all schedules and preferences. The thermostat will restart and begin initial setup.
What does the 'Hold' function do?
Hold temporarily maintains a set temperature until cancelled. Use the + and - buttons to adjust, then press Hold. The thermostat will keep that temperature until you press Cancel or the next scheduled period.
How do I set a schedule on the thermostat?
Go to Menu > Schedule. Select Home or Vacation (or create more via app). Choose day type (weekday/weekend), add time periods (min 2, max 8) with heating/cooling setpoints. Save each period.
Why is my thermostat not connecting to Wi-Fi?
Possible causes: weak signal, using 5 GHz network, SSID with special characters, incorrect password, or internet outage. Ensure you are on 2.4 GHz and try moving router closer.
What types of HVAC systems are compatible?
The FS2TH works with most conventional systems (gas, oil, propane, electric, boilers), heat pumps (with auxiliary/emergency heat), and dual fuel systems. Supports up to 2 stages heating and 2 stages cooling.
How do I clean the thermostat?
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the screen and body. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the device.

Installation

The FS2HT thermostat is designed to work with most standard low voltage 12-24 AC/DC heating and cooling systems, such as gas and oil furnaces, heat pumps and one or two stage systems.

Step 1 - turn off the power

IMPORTANT: as this prevents the fuse from blowing in the equipment. To ensure that the power is off, change the temperature with the current thermostat and wait at least 5 minutes to ensure the system is OFF.

Step 2 - check if the system is turned off

Confirm that the system is off by turning on the heating (winter) or air conditioning (summer). Wait a few minutes - you shouldn't feel air coming out of the vents.

Step 3 - Remove the old thermostat from the wall stand

Most thermostats allow you to remove the main unit and provide access to the wall plate where the cable clamps are located. The thermostat can be removed by grasping and gently pulling. Some thermostats may have screws, buttons or latches.

NOTE: DO NOT disconnect any wires from the old thermostat in this step.

natural_image Line drawing of a dual-chamber electric device with directional arrows indicating motion (no text or symbols)

Step 4 - take a photo of the wiring

Take a clear photo of the existing wall plate wiring and make sure the wire terminal labels are clear enough to be read. This will be an important reference for the next step.

Ferguson FS2TH - Step 4 - take a photo of the wiring - 1

natural_image Hand holding smartphone to scan a card with two dental models (no text or symbols visible)

Step 5 - mark the wires

Label the wires of the old wall plate with the labels from our thermostat box.

NOTE: If an Rc or Rh wire is present, attach an R label to it.

G C R

Step 6 - Disconnect the wires and remove the old wall stand

Disconnect the wires from the old thermostat one by one, you may need a screwdriver to disconnect the wires from the terminals.

NOTE: Wrap the cords around a pen or pencil to prevent them from falling back into the hole in the wall.

Ferguson FS2TH - Step 6 - Disconnect the wires and remove the old wall stand - 1

natural_image Diagram showing a device with a fan and a sensor emitting signals, no text or symbols present

Step 7 - Install the new wall stand

Use the screw kit (bolt and dowel) to mount the new wall plate. In most cases, the old mounting position can be used; if this is not possible, use a new kit. Be sure to check the alignment of the new wall tile before and after installing the wall tile.
